Assembling the Handles
WARNING: ALWAYS USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES AND KEEP HANDS AWAY FROM THE BLADES. USE A PIECE OF TIMBER TO STOP BLADES FROM SPINNING.
- Attach handle extensions (with single holes) to the upper end of the lower handle. Secure with bolts from the securing set and handle securing knobs.
- Insert the upper handle into the upper ends of the handle extensions. Select the appropriate hole for user height.
- Secure the handles using the handle securing set.
- Attach the assembled handle to the mower body by locating the brackets behind each wheel. Insert one side of the handle into a bracket, then slightly press the end of the handle and insert the other side. Ensure the handle is fully inserted before tightening screws.
- Secure the handle to the bracket with the supplied screws.
- Clip the key holder onto the handle and insert the hex key for cutter bar adjustment for safe keeping and easy access.
Securing the Cord
Ensure the power cord follows the handle smoothly from the switch to the mower body. Use the 3 provided cable clips to secure the cord from the switch housing to the mower.
Grass Catcher Assembly
- Push the catcher frame into the grass catcher.
- Snap the side fastening lugs of the grass catcher over the catcher frame.
- Snap the bottom fastening lug of the grass catcher over the catcher frame.
Fitting the Grass Catcher
WARNING: ONLY FIT AND REMOVE THE GRASS CATCHER WHEN THE MOWER IS SWITCHED OFF AND THE MOTOR HAS COME TO A STOP.
- Hook the grass catcher onto the left and right sides of the roller.
- Secure the catcher strap to the lower handle, adjusting it so the catcher sits flat when mowing.
Adjusting the Cutting Height
WARNING: ONLY ADJUST THE CUTTING HEIGHT WHEN THE MOWER IS SWITCHED OFF AND THE MOTOR HAS COME TO A STOP.
Cutting heights can be set between 14mm and 38mm in 4 intervals. Adjust the left and right height adjustment knobs on the mower housing.
- Pull out the spring-loaded height adjustment knob. Adjust to the required height. This allows the roller assembly to move, positioning the cutting bar at the selected height.
- Release the knob and ensure it is securely seated.
Note: Set the cutting height so the cutting bar does not touch the ground on uneven surfaces. Ensure left and right height adjustments are at the same level.
Switching On and Off
The mower has a dual-action switch to prevent accidental starts.
- Press and hold the lock-off button [lock-off-button], then pull the start/stop lever [start-stop-lever] towards the handle to start the mower. Release the lock-off button once the mower is running.
- Release the start/stop lever to stop the mower.
Note: The ejector flap can be adjusted for different grass ejection settings.
WARNING: THE BLADE CONTINUES TO ROTATE FOR A FEW SECONDS AFTER THE MOTOR HAS BEEN SWITCHED OFF. NEVER ATTEMPT TO MANUALLY STOP THE BLADE.
Operation
Inserting the Battery into the Mower
- Open the battery cover. Slide the battery into the mower, aligning the ribs until it clicks into place.
- Insert the safety key [safety-key]. Do not insert if the mower will not be used immediately.
- Close the battery cover.
Removing the Battery from the Mower
- Open the battery cover. Press the battery release tab [battery-release-tab] and remove the battery.
- Close the battery cover.
Mowing
The cordless cylinder mower can be used with a Power-X-Change battery or in manual mode without a battery.
For best results on ornamental lawns, mow 1-2 times per week. Recommended grass heights are 60-70mm for normal lawns and 30-40mm for ornamental lawns. Never reduce the lawn height by more than one-third of its current height in a single mowing. Before frost, reduce the lawn to its recommended height.
Mow only when the grass is dry. Grass should not exceed 100mm in height for clean cutting. The mower has a freewheeling facility when pulled backward.
Lawn Mowing Tips
- Start mowing along the lawn's edge and overlap each pass by a few centimetres.
- For optimal grass collection, mow in a straight line without swinging the mower side-to-side.
Note: Battery operating time depends on grass density, moisture, height, cutting height, and mowing speed. For longer runtime, mow more often with a higher cutting height and appropriate speed. Frequent on/off cycling reduces runtime. Consider a higher capacity battery if runtime is insufficient.
IMPORTANT: DO NOT MOW WITH POOR VISIBILITY CONDITIONS, IN THE RAIN, OR WHEN GRASS IS WET.
- Always wear substantial closed, non-slip footwear and long trousers.
- Ensure the lawn is clear of sticks, stones, wire, and debris before mowing.
- Before and after any impact, check for signs of wear or damage and repair as necessary.
- Maintain a safe distance between the mower reel blades and the user using the long handles.
- Exercise extreme caution when mowing and changing direction on slopes and inclines.
- Use only a sharp blade in good condition to prevent grass fraying and yellowing.
Maintenance
WARNING: ALWAYS ENSURE THE LAWN MOWER BLADE HAS COMPLETELY STOPPED, REMOVE SAFETY KEY, BATTERY, AND GRASS CATCHER PRIOR TO ANY MAINTENANCE.
- Do not clean the mower with running water, especially high-pressure water.
- Ensure all mounting components (screws, bolts, nuts) are always tightened for safe operation.
- Keep the mower in good condition for long lifespan and high performance. Clean with a brush or rag; do not use solvents or water.
- Frequently check the grass catcher assembly for signs of wear.
- Keep all nuts, bolts, and screws tight for safe working condition.
- Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
- Be careful during adjustments to prevent finger entrapment between moving blades and fixed parts.
- Check mower spindle blades regularly for wear and ensure the spindle is tightly fastened.
- Store the mower in a dry, frost-free location out of reach of children. Clean the housing with a moist cloth and brush, not solvents.
Note: Ozito Industries is not responsible for damage or injuries caused by unauthorized repairs or mishandling. This tool is designed for DIY use; commercial or industrial use voids the warranty.
Adjusting the Cutting Bar to the Reel Blades
WARNING: ALWAYS USE PROTECTIVE GLOVES WHEN ADJUSTING THE CUTTING BAR. SHARP EDGES COULD CAUSE INJURY.
The cutting bar is pre-set. Readjustment may be needed after prolonged use. The cutting bar should be as close to the reel blades as possible, making slight contact with a whispery sound when rotated. Ensure the bar does not stop the blades from rotating.
Adjust only if:
- Cutting results are rough/uneven, or grass blades are not cut (gap between cutting bar and reel blades is too large).
- The mower is heavy or difficult to push.
- The mower spindle makes loud noises or does not rotate due to rubbing against the cutting bar.
Adjusting Procedure:
- Keep hands away from blades. Use a piece of timber to stop blades from spinning.
- Turn the socket head screw clockwise to reduce the distance between the cutting bar and mower blade.
- Turn the socket head screw counterclockwise to increase the distance.
- Tighten one socket head screw until the mower blade just touches the cutting bar.
- Repeat with the second screw.
Note: Adjust screws evenly so the mower reel blades can just rotate freely. Test cut on the lawn to confirm correct adjustment.
Battery Protection System
The tool has a battery protection system for longevity. Output power cuts off automatically during operation if the tool or battery is overloaded or if the battery capacity becomes low. Recharge the battery pack when capacity is low. The system does not damage the tool.
Note: Indicated capacity may be lower than the actual level during or immediately after use.
Caring for the Environment
Dispose of unusable power tools in an environmentally friendly way, recycling where facilities exist. Check with your local council for advice. Recycling packaging reduces landfill and raw materials.
