Portable Laptop Crash Cart Adapter
Product ID: NOTECONS02-VGA-MDP
The USB crash cart adapter provides control of headless systems, transforming your laptop into a portable crash cart for rack servers, PCs, ATMs, kiosks, and more. It allows for instant BIOS-level control by connecting to your computer via a USB cable and then to your server using integrated USB and VGA cables. An included Mini DisplayPort adapter enables connection to mDP-enabled computers or servers. No server-side software is required for immediate operation. Please note that mouse functionality might be limited in certain BIOS/UEFI environments.
The adapter's software interface facilitates file transfers from your laptop to the server, video capture for records or instructional purposes, and taking screenshots. The display window can be scaled to full screen or adjusted to a smaller size without scroll bars, aiding in faster troubleshooting.
Powered by the server-side USB connection, this KVM adapter eliminates the need for an AC outlet. It can connect to any PC with a VGA or mDP output and a USB connection, even in locations without available power outlets.
Its pocket-sized and compact design fits easily into a laptop bag and requires no additional accessories for connection. This negates the need to carry a large, traditional crash cart for system troubleshooting and servicing.
StarTech.com offers a diverse range of high-quality KVM products designed to enhance system access efficiency without the added expense and clutter of extra keyboards, mice, and monitors.
Certifications, Reports and Compatibility
The adapter is TAA compliant and RoHS compliant. It is compatible with Windows 11, 10, 8, 7, Server 2022, 2019, 2016, 2012, 2012 R2, 2008 R2, and Server 2012. macOS compatibility includes versions 10.9 through 15.0, and Linux versions 2.6 and up (LTS versions only).

Features
- Laptop to Server Connectivity: TAA-compliant USB crash cart adapter connects a laptop to headless systems, rack servers, PCs, ATMs, or kiosks, functioning as a portable console. The included Mini DisplayPort adapter provides flexibility for connecting to servers with VGA or mDP outputs.
- Efficient Troubleshooting: The crash cart adapter software allows for easy file transfers, screenshot captures, and activity logging. For optimal performance, ensure the latest drivers specifically for the NOTECONS02-VGA-MDP are installed.
- BIOS-Level Control: Connect the adapter to your laptop using the provided USB cable, then connect the integrated USB and VGA cables to your server for immediate BIOS-level control. Note: Mouse function may be limited in some BIOS/UEFI environments.
