2 Getting Started
For first-time use, configure system settings and synchronize the diagnostic software with the latest version. Follow these steps:
- Tap "Start" on the Welcome screen.
- Select system language.
- Select time zone.
- Perform WLAN setup.
- Configure email address. (Note: Choosing "Ignore" proceeds to date settings. If connected to the internet, the system automatically obtains the correct network date and time. After configuration, the system automatically sends diagnostic reports to your email after each Auto-Detect process.)
- Sign the user agreement.
- Tap "Update" when the Job Menu appears. (Note: Updating is strongly recommended for enhanced capabilities and better service.)
3 Preparation
- Turn the ignition off.
- Locate the vehicle's DLC (Data Link Connector). It typically has 16 pins and is usually found on the driver's side, about 12 inches from the dashboard center. Refer to the DLC Location figure. A label will indicate its position if it's not under the dashboard. Consult an Automobile Repair Manual if the DLC is not found.
- Connect one end of the diagnostic cable to the tool's DB-15 connector and tighten the captive screws. Connect the other end to the vehicle's DLC.
Note: The tool is compatible only with 12V passenger cars equipped with a standard OBD-II diagnostic socket.
Figure DLC Location: A diagram shows the typical location of the DLC on the driver's side dashboard, near the center, and also mentions behind the ashtray as a possible location.
Diagnostic Cable Connection: An illustration shows the diagnostic cable connecting the Display Tablet to the vehicle's DLC.
- Turn the ignition key on.
4 Start Diagnostics
The tool supports both AutoDetect and manual diagnosis. If AutoDetect fails, you can manually input the VIN or switch to manual diagnosis mode.
Note: This step can be skipped if "Automatic detection on connect" is enabled in "Settings".
Diagnostic Flowchart
- Tap "Diagnose".
- Start decoding vehicle VIN.
- Decoding OK: Proceed.
- Decoding failed: Double-check vehicle information.
- Scan all vehicle systems.
- Output diagnostic report.
Note: The most recognizable VIN location is on the top left corner of the vehicle's dashboard. Other locations include the driver's door or post, and the firewall under the hood.
Manual Diagnosis Flowchart
- Note: For new users, it is recommended to use the "DEMO" mode to familiarize yourself with the diagnostic process.
- Select vehicle manufacturer.
- Select vehicle make.
- Select test system.
- Select diagnostic function.
After inputting the VIN and tapping "OK", the system will automatically identify the vehicle model. If the VIN is decoded successfully, auto-diagnosis will commence, and a diagnostic report will be automatically output.
