3 Assembly

3.1 Fitting and Removing the Blade Guard

WARNING! Always pull out the plug before assembly and maintenance.

  1. Fit the blade guard (5) onto the riving knife (3). (Fig. 2)
  2. Push the knob screw through the hole in the riving knife.
  3. Push in and tighten the knob. Check that the blade guard can move freely. (Fig. 3)
  4. The blade guard is removed in the reverse order of fitting.

3.2 Fitting the Table Extension

  1. Place the table extension (9) next to the tabletop (10). Check that the holes are aligned. (Fig. 4)
  2. Fit the spring washers (B) onto the screws (A).
  3. Insert the screws through the holes in the table extension and the tabletop.
  4. Fit the washers (C) and nuts (D) onto the screws (A).
  5. Fasten the extension (16) with 4 screws. (Fig. 5)
  6. Tighten all screws completely.

4 Use

4.1 Introduction

4.2 Preparations Before Use

4.3 Riving Knife Adjustment

WARNING! Stop the product, pull out the plug and check that the blade has stopped completely before making any adjustments.

  1. Set the angle adjustment knob for the saw blade to 0° and lock the position.
  2. Loosen the knob on the blade guard. (Fig. 6)
  3. Remove the blade guard (5) from the riving knife (3). (Fig. 7)
  4. Remove the screw from the table insert. (Fig. 8)
  5. Lift one side of the table insert. (Fig. 9)
  6. Remove the table insert. (Fig. 10)
  7. Loosen the screw (A) on the riving knife and adjust the position of the riving knife.
  8. Set the distance to 10 cm (B) between the tabletop and the top of the riving knife for maximum thickness. Check that the distance (C) between the blade and the riving knife is 3-5 mm. (Fig. 11)
  9. Tighten the screw (A) on the riving knife and refit the table insert.
  10. Refit the blade guard. See "3.1 Fitting and Removing the Blade Guard" on page 17.

WARNING! Keep your fingers and palm away from the workpiece.

WARNING! Remove your hand from the workpiece before your hand reaches the blade guard.

  1. Slide the workpiece through the riving knife.

WARNING! Do not remove the cut workpiece until the saw blade has stopped completely and is at rest.

NOTE! Use support rollers for long workpieces.

4.4 Rip Cutting

WARNING! Do not stand in the direction of rotation of the saw blade when cutting lengthwise.

  1. Set the rip fence so that it fits the thickness of the workpiece.
  2. Place the workpiece with the flat side against the tabletop.
  3. Press one edge of the workpiece against the rip fence.
  4. Press the start button (G) to start the product. (Fig. 12)
  5. Slide the workpiece towards the saw blade. Ensure that you slide the workpiece along the rip fence.
  6. Slide the workpiece against the saw blade. Ensure that you slide the workpiece along the rip fence.

4.5 Cutting Narrow Workpieces

Use the push stick to cut workpieces narrower than 120 mm. (Fig. 13)

IMPORTANT! A worn or damaged push stick must always be replaced.

4.6 Mitre Cutting

  1. Turn the adjustment knob to set the height of the saw blade. (Fig. 14)
  2. Set the rip fence.
  3. Cut the workpiece to the desired width.

4.7 Cutting Wood

  1. Set the mitre fence guides in one of the grooves in the tabletop and set the angle of the mitre fence.
  2. Loosen the angle adjustment knob. (Fig. 15)
  3. Move the knob to set the angle of the saw blade.
  4. Turn the angle adjustment knob to the locked position.

NOTE! Use the groove to check that hands and the mitre fence do not come into contact with the blade guard.

  1. Place the workpiece on the tabletop and push it against the mitre fence.
  2. Press the start button to start the tool.
  3. Slide the mitre fence and workpiece towards the blade to cut the wood. Check that the workpiece is cut all the way through before releasing the mitre fence.

WARNING! Do not place your hand on the side of the workpiece being cut.

  1. Press the stop button (F). Check that the saw blade has stopped completely before removing the cut workpiece. (Fig. 12)

5 Maintenance

5.1 Cleaning the Product

WARNING! Pull out the plug and check that the saw blade has stopped completely before cleaning and/or maintenance on the product.

WARNING! Ensure that water does not penetrate the product. Risk of electric shock.

IMPORTANT! Strong detergents or solvents can damage plastic parts on the product.

5.1.1 Cleaning the Carbon Brushes

Always have a qualified electrician check the carbon brushes if there is heavy sparking.

5.2 Replacing the Table Insert

WARNING! Do not use the product if the table insert is worn or damaged. Risk of personal injury!

  1. Remove the blade guard. See "3.1 Fitting and Removing the Blade Guard" on page 17.
  2. Remove the countersunk screws.
  3. Remove the table insert.
  4. The new table insert is fitted in the reverse order of removal.

5.3 Replacing the Saw Blade

WARNING! Pull out the plug and check that the saw blade has stopped completely before cleaning and/or maintenance on the product.

  1. Remove the table insert. See "5.2 Replacing the Table Insert" on page 19.
  2. Hold the 10 mm Allen key (A) on the motor shaft. (Fig. 16)
  3. Loosen the nut with a 24 mm spanner (B). Turn the nut in the direction of the blade's rotation.
  4. Remove the screw (A), nut (B) and washer (C). (Fig. 16)
  5. Remove the outer blade flange and tilt the blade to remove it from the inner blade flange.
  6. Clean the blade flanges thoroughly.
  7. The new saw blade is fitted in the reverse order of removal.

NOTE! Check that the cutting edge of the saw blade teeth points forward in the direction of rotation.

  1. Fit and adjust the blade. See "4.3 Riving Knife Adjustment" on page 18.
  2. Fit and adjust the blade guard. See "3.1 Fitting and Removing the Blade Guard" on page 17.

6 Disposal

6.1 Disposal of the Product

The used product must be disposed of in accordance with applicable regulations. The product must not be incinerated.
