The Dell OptiPlex GX60 is designed with reliability, stability, ease of management, and maintenance at its core. These characteristics provide advantages such as a long lifespan, easy transitions, and on-demand customization. The GX60 leverages proven technology and great manageability at a competitive price. The combination of its features, system architecture, cost, and services makes the OptiPlex GX60 an ideal choice for single-task computing in enterprise and administration environments. The OptiPlex GX60 is available in three practical Dell chassis versions: SF (compact), SD (small form factor desktop), and SMT (small mini-tower). It is equipped with an Intel® Celeron® processor with 128 KB cache and a 400 MHz front-side bus, and uses the Intel 845GL chipset.
The image accompanying this document shows a Dell OptiPlex GX60 desktop computer tower, presented in a beige color. The front panel features a floppy disk drive and a CD-ROM drive. Below these drives are standard front-panel ports, including USB and audio jacks. The Dell logo is visible on the tower. The computer is depicted as part of a workstation setup, connected to a Dell monitor and keyboard, suggesting a complete workstation setup.
Personalized Service and Support Solutions
Dell's service solutions can be tailored to your needs. Dell experts can assist in developing and implementing your custom image from acquisition, and provide support for installation and data migration. A 3-year on-site service with next business day intervention is standard, with an option for 3-year service with a 4-hour response time.
The Peripherals You Need
Targeted computing options with a wide range of peripherals suitable for single-task computing. The OptiPlex GX60 also features an Intel LOM PRO/100M controller with ASF 1.0 compliance, integrated Intel Extreme® graphics, and an integrated AC'97 audio system.
A Simple Video Solution
The OptiPlex GX60 utilizes the integrated Intel Extreme graphics on the i845GL chipset. This cost-effective solution provides the expected performance and functionality on a simple platform.
Rich and Reliable Features
Dell adheres to open industry standards for system management and network administration, such as ASF, WfM, and CIM, to ensure seamless integration of your new system with existing industry-standard systems in your network. The Dell OpenManage™ software suite offers hardware and software management functions designed to help minimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and maintain personnel efficiency and productivity by enabling global system updates, providing system alerts, and allowing software updates/imaging outside of work hours.
Productivity and Power
S3/4 Ready Now! contributes to increasing productivity and reducing the OptiPlex GX60's power consumption when idle. Thanks to these features, the time spent booting up and opening applications and files, or establishing network connection, is minimized as all information is stored in system RAM (S3) or on the hard drive (S4). When S3/4 is active, system power consumption can drop to less than 5 watts, a 67% reduction compared to EnergyStar standards. The OptiPlex GX60 is also equipped with a PFC (Power Factor Correcting) power supply, which further reduces power consumption compared to a standard power supply. S3/4 functions like a screen saver and can be password protected. All these features contribute to decreasing TCO and increasing productivity.
Master Your IT Technology
LegacySelect Technology Control 2.0 enables the deployment of various legacy configurations ('legacy-full', 'reduced', or 'legacy-free') based on a common platform with a common hard drive image and common troubleshooting procedures. IT departments can thus standardize the hardware and software platform for all workgroups, regardless of their legacy technology needs. Specific ports, including PCI and USB, and support peripherals can be electronically enabled or disabled, freeing up resources for other uses. Naturally, a BIOS password is provided to prevent unauthorized modification. For highly sensitive IT environments, the OptiPlex GX60 also offers a sealed bay option, fully protecting front bays to provide maximum control over deployed systems.
Intrusion Protection
The OptiPlex GX60 chassis design also offers enhanced security compared to the OptiPlex GX100. Lid lock loops and improved Kensington lock slots secure both the system and internal components using either a custom padlock or a standard Kensington cable lock. Chassis intrusion alerts and unauthorized configuration change alerts allow system administrators to monitor access to the PC.
Easy Access and Quiet Chassis
The single-hinge chassis opens with a simple push-button. Once open, system components, accessible without tools, are easy to install and remove. In the rare event that the system requires intervention, the technician has easy access to the system. This feature helps decrease TCO and maintain personnel productivity. In addition to ease of maintenance, significant attention was paid during the chassis and system component design to noise reduction, with approximately 40% to 60% reduction in sound emissions compared to our previous model.
