MITTLED LED Kitchen Drawer Lighting Installation Guide
This document provides instructions for installing the IKEA MITTLED LED kitchen drawer lighting system.
Important Safety Instructions
⚠️ WARNING: Strangulation Hazard.
- For indoor use only.
- Regularly check the cord, transformer, and all other parts for damage. Do not use if any part is damaged. Keep these instructions for future use.
- The external flexible cable or cord of this luminaire cannot be replaced; if the cord is damaged, the luminaire shall be destroyed.
- The light source of this luminaire is not replaceable; when the light source reaches its end of life, the whole luminaire shall be replaced.
- ONLY USE A SAFETY TRANSFORMER WITH A SELV OUTPUT AS A SUPPLY FOR THE PRODUCT.
- Use only IKEA LED drivers suited for this product. The total wattage of the lamps connected to one LED driver must not exceed the maximum power stated on that LED driver and never more than 30W.
- Never place cord within reach of a child in a cot or playpen.
- ALWAYS secure cord to wall or cabinet.
- Check regularly that the cord is securely fastened.
- Pull the cord to remove any slack between fasteners. Tie up any remaining slack cord between driver and socket.
Assembly Instructions
Step 1: Preparation and Parts Check
Gather the necessary tools, typically a screwdriver. Check all included parts against the parts list:
- Mounting rails (2x)
- Diffuser covers (2x)
- Clips (4x)
- Screws (4x, part number 108445)
The diagrams show the product components and suggest consulting instructions or contacting IKEA for assistance.
Step 2: Install Mounting Rails
Attach the mounting rails to the inside of the cabinet or drawer where the lighting will be installed. Ensure correct alignment, noting specific measurements if indicated (e.g., 2 mm and 4 mm gaps). Secure the clips to the mounting rails as shown in the diagrams.
Step 3: Attach LED Strips
Carefully attach the LED light strips to the installed mounting rails. The strips should click into place. Secure them using the provided clips.
Step 4: Connect Power and Finalize
Connect the LED light strips to the LED driver and then to the power supply. The LED driver and power supply cord are sold separately. Connect the power supply to a wall outlet. The system is designed to activate the light when a drawer is opened and turn it off when closed.
