The TANRS Ardabil is a versatile utility module for Eurorack modular synthesizers, designed to shape and mix audio signals. It facilitates the integration of various sound sources and processing chains through its two distinct signal threads, which operate with rotational symmetry.

Core Functionality

The module provides the following processing capabilities:

• Adder Inputs (1 & 2): Sums signals from inputs 1 and 2, maintaining 1V/Oct scaling.
• Attenuverter Input & Knob (3 & 4): Input 3's signal is multiplied by the value set by knob 4 and then added to the main signal thread. The knob offers a range from -1 (full attenuation/inversion) to +1 (full attenuation), with the center position yielding no contribution from input 3.
• Offset Knob (5): This rotary control allows for the addition of a voltage offset to the signal, adjustable from -5V (counterclockwise) to +5V (clockwise).
• Multiple Outputs (6): The processed signal is split into three buffered outputs. One of these outputs is equipped with an LED indicator that illuminates when the signal is positive.
• Inverted Output (7): This output provides an inverted version of the signal from the multiple outputs (6). It also features an LED indicator that lights up when the signal is positive, signifying a negative signal on the main multiple outputs.
• VCA Section (Inputs 8 & 9, Output 10): Functions as a Voltage Controlled Amplifier. Control Voltage (CV) input 8, which defaults to the buffered output 6, modulates the audio signal from input 9. The resulting amplified signal is sent to output 10. Input 8 is designed to handle only positive signals; any negative input is automatically zeroed before processing.

Signal Flow Example

A typical signal path through one thread of the Ardabil module includes:

1. Adder + Attenuverter + Offset → Buffered Outputs (6)
2. Buffered Output (6) multiplied by -1 → Inverted Output (7)
3. CV Input (8, defaults to Buffered Output 6) multiplied by Audio Input (9) → VCA Output (10)

The TANRS Ardabil is intended to be a central support structure in a Eurorack system, enabling creative signal weaving and integration.
