HEPA Filter Use and Foam Control

  • Install the HEPA filter when using the HVE3000 on Category 3 restoration jobs or where quieter operation is preferred.
  • Remove and discard the HEPA filter at the end of all Category 3 restoration jobs. Hearing protection is recommended when the filter is not in place.
  • Replace the HEPA filter if it gets wet during operation.
  • For all other jobs, operating the unit without the HEPA filter is recommended.
  • Use defoaming chemicals whenever foam is present in the waste tank.
  • If foam/water is pulled through the vacuum blowers, remove the hose/wand and run the blower unit for 5 minutes to dry out the system before storing.

Failure to follow these instructions can damage the vacuum system and will void the warranty.

Maintenance

  • Replace vacuum blower brushes after 800 hours of operation.
  • Detailed instructions for maintenance procedures are available in the owner's manual, downloadable from HVE3000.DriEaz.com.

  • Control Panel: Features include the Automatic Pumpout switch (P), Vacuum blower switches (1, 2 for LOW, MEDIUM, HIGH settings), and Power cord sockets (A and B).
  • IMPORTANT: Secure power cords into sockets with the lock.
  • Independent Circuit Indicator Light: A bright green light indicates proper connection to separate circuits. No light means circuits are shared or only one cord is connected. Ensure the green light is illuminated when using both power cords.
  • Before First Use: Install the grab handle/vacuum hose guide using the provided screws. Use the included Velcro straps to secure the extractor hose when not in use.

Extraction Mode Setup

To remove water quickly and effectively from flooded structures:

  1. Remove the HEPA filter for Category 1 or 2 restoration jobs. The HEPA filter is intended only for Category 3 jobs.
  2. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum inlet.
  3. Connect one or two power cords based on job requirements. The second cord must connect to a separate 15 amp circuit.
    • NOTICE: Plug power cords into separate GFCI-protected 115 volt outlets rated for at least 15 amps. Plug cords firmly into the unit base first and secure them with the cord clip.
    • NOTICE: Connect ONLY to two separate 15A circuits. A green light indicates correct connections; no light means circuits are shared or only one cord is used.
  4. For automatic pumpout, connect the pumpout hose to the pump outlet and turn the pump switch ON. Use a hose no smaller than 5/8 inch and ensure it has no kinks. For better performance, see "Maximizing Pumpout Performance."
    • NOTICE: Before turning the pump on, attach a drain hose and place its end in an approved drain. Check local authorities for proper wastewater disposal. Operating the pump without a drain hose can cause injury.
    • NOTICE: Avoid contact with water draining from the pump outlet. Water is pressurized and may exit with force. It may contain hazardous chemicals or contaminants.
  5. Turn on vacuum pump(s) to LOW, MED, or HIGH. The machine can operate with one or both vacuum pumps. For maximum vacuum performance, turn on both Vacuum Pump 1 and Vacuum Pump 2.

For use as a truckmount extraction booster, refer to "Booster Mode." Keep the truckmount outlet capped when not in use.

Extraction Operation Tip: Place the HVE3000 as close as possible to the end of the hose run nearest the wand or extraction tool to maximize vacuum boost.

Truckmount Booster Setup

Use the HVE3000 with a truckmount extractor to provide additional extraction power. It has been tested for hose runs up to 300 ft. (90 m). For optimal performance, use the shortest hose runs possible.

  • NOTICE: Do not operate with a truckmount producing vacuum pressures greater than 12 in. Hg (164 in. H2O), as this could damage the unit and void the warranty.
  • NOTICE: Do not operate with water temperatures exceeding 140° F (60° C), as this could damage the unit and void the warranty.
  1. Connect the vacuum hose to the vacuum inlet.
  2. Connect one or two power cords depending on job requirements. The second cord must connect to a separate 15 amp circuit. A green light indicates correct connection to separate circuits.
    • WARNING: Plug power cords into separate GFCI-protected 115 volt outlets rated for at least 15 amps. Plug cords firmly into the unit base first and secure them with the cord clip.
    • NOTICE: Connect ONLY to two separate 15A circuits. A green light indicates correct connections; no light means circuits are shared or only one cord is used.
  3. Connect the pumpout hose to the pump outlet and turn the pump switch ON. For maximum pumpout performance, use a 1½ in. outlet hose.
  4. Attach the vacuum hose to the truckmount via the vacuum outlet.
  5. Turn on vacuum pump(s) to LOW, MED, or HIGH. For maximum vacuum pressure, turn on both Vacuum Pump 1 and Vacuum Pump 2.

Truckmount Booster Operation Tip: Place the HVE3000 as close as possible to the end of the hose run nearest the wand or extraction tool to maximize vacuum boost.

Maximizing Pumpout Performance: The sump pump outlet has a 1½ in. barbed fitting for a 1½ in. drain hose. Using a larger diameter drain hose ensures maximum pumpout performance. A standard garden hose can be used with the supplied ¾ in. reducer fitting.

  • NOTICE: Before turning the pump on, attach a drain hose and place its end in a suitable drain. Operating the pump without a drain hose can cause injury.
  • NOTICE: Avoid contact with draining water from the pump outlet. Water is pressurized and may contain hazardous chemicals or contaminants.

Airflow Shut-off: The HVE3000 automatically shuts off airflow to the vacuum pumps when the recovery tank is full, preventing water and debris from entering the motors. If the tank is dirty or foamy, the float may not function correctly. A high-pitched whine and lack of vacuum may indicate the float has engaged or the tank is full/foamy. Check and empty the tank if necessary, and use a defoamer if foam is present.

Maintenance

⚠️ WARNING: ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD. Unplug the unit before performing any maintenance.

Before Each Use

  • Inspect the electrical cord for fraying, cuts, or other damage. Do not use if damaged; call 800-932-3030 to find a service center.

  • Operate the unit for 5 minutes with no filter in place to dry out the vacuum pump.
  • Clean the recovery tank, float valve, and airflow shutoff valve. Release cover latches, lift off the cover assembly. With the gravity drain hose directed to a drain, remove debris and wash the tank interior with an all-purpose detergent. Rinse with fresh water and allow to drain completely.
  • Slide the airflow shutoff ball valve assembly off the vacuum standpipe (Fig. D). Rinse the valve assembly clean. Ensure the float ball moves freely and is free of debris. Reinstall the ball valve assembly.
  • Wipe off the pump, float, float arm assembly, and tank interior with a damp cloth. Allow to dry completely before replacing the cover assembly.
  • For maintenance of appearance, wipe interior and exterior surfaces with a damp cloth. For deep cleaning and exterior shine, use an automotive interior treatment product.

Monthly

  • Use an all-purpose silicone spray to lubricate wheels, castors, and latches. Wipe up excess spray to prevent slippery surfaces.
