Safety Information
For safety, the adjustable post must be attached to the ceiling, and the side unit must be attached to the wall. To prevent tip-over injuries, furniture with included restraints must be secured to the wall following assembly instructions. Care and Cleaning
Wipe clean with a cloth dampened in a mild cleaner, then dry with a clean, dry cloth.

ELVARLI is a flexible and attractive open storage system designed for storing clothes and shoes. It features modern white lines and durable bamboo shelves. You can choose from pre-planned combinations or create your own solution for your bedroom, hallway, living room, or home office. The click-in function allows for easy assembly, disassembly, and rearrangement. The system offers a choice of bases: a ceiling-anchored post or a wall-anchored side unit. You then add interiors like clothes rails, shelves, and shoe shelves to meet your specific storage needs. ELVARLI is adaptable and extendable, allowing you to modify it as your needs, style, or address change.

How to Plan Your ELVARLI System
1. Assess Your Storage Needs
Sort through your clothes and count the number of items you wish to store in each category (e.g., shoes, dresses, sweaters, pants).
2. Measure Your Space
Determine the location for your open storage solution. Sketch the area, measuring from floor to ceiling and wall to wall. Note any windows, doors (and their swing direction), radiators, pipes, ventilation, or other features that might affect the placement of your storage system.
3. Choose a Ready-Made Combination
Browse pre-planned combinations in this guide and find more solutions at IKEA-USA.com/ELVARLI. IKEA coworkers can assist in compiling a picking list for your chosen combination to help you navigate the Self-Serve area. They also offer services like pick-up and home delivery arrangements.
4. Create Your Own Solution
Follow these steps:
- Pick a base: ELVARLI can use a wall-anchored side unit (available in heights 49" and 85") or a ceiling-anchored post (adjustable height 87" to 137"). Each post includes fittings for mounting interiors on the extendable part.
- Choose interiors: Select from clothes rails, shelves, inserts, and shoe shelves. All interiors are available in two widths (15" and 31") and two depths (14" and 20").
- Calculate width: Ensure your solution fits your space. Allow extra width for posts (1" per post) or side units (1" for outer units, 1" for middle units). Refer to page 3 for detailed width calculation information.
