Alcatel 2001X Quick Start Guide

1 Your Phone
1.1 Keys and Connectors
Familiarize yourself with the keys and connectors on your Alcatel 2001X:
- [Send Key]: Answer/Make calls, open call log (from standby), confirm options.
- [End Call Key]: End calls, return to the home screen, delete characters (in edit mode).
- [Voicemail Key]: Long press to dial voicemail.

2 Getting Started
2.1 Setup
Installing/Removing the Battery: Open the back cover, insert or remove the battery.
Installing/Removing the SIM Card: Insert the SIM card with the chip facing down and slide it into its slot. Verify it is correctly inserted. To remove, press and slide it out.
Charging the Battery: Connect the charger to the phone and a power outlet. For energy saving, disconnect the charger when fully charged and turn off Bluetooth when not in use.
2.2 Turning On Your Phone
Press and hold the [Power Key] until the phone turns on.
2.3 Turning Off Your Phone
Press and hold the [Power Key] on the Home screen.
3 Calls
3.1 Making a Call
Dial the desired number and press the [Send Key]. Use the [Backspace Key] to correct errors. Press the [End Call Key] to hang up.
Emergency Call
If your phone is within your network's coverage area, dial the emergency number and press the [Send Key] to make an emergency call, even without a SIM card or PIN.
3.2 Calling Your Voicemail
Press and hold the [Voicemail Key].
3.3 Receiving a Call
Press the [Send Key] to answer and the [End Call Key] to hang up.
4 Messages
4.1 Writing a Message
From the main menu, select "Messages" to create a text message. Use "Options" for message functions. An SMS can automatically convert to MMS when attachments are added. Frequently sent messages can be saved as "Drafts". Note that long SMS messages may be billed as multiple messages, and special characters can increase message size.
5 Contacts
5.1 Viewing Contacts
Access contacts by selecting "Contacts" from the main menu.
5.2 Adding a Contact
Select "Add Contact" to add a new contact to the phone or SIM card.
6 Alarm
Your mobile phone includes a clock with an alarm function and snooze capability.
7 Other Features
7.1 My Files
Access audio and video files stored on the phone or SD card. To insert/remove an SD card, first remove the microSD card holder, insert the card with contacts facing down, then secure the holder.
7.2 FM Radio
Your phone has an FM radio with RDS functionality. You can save stations and listen while using other applications.
7.3 Calendar
Access a monthly calendar to register meetings and appointments.
7.4 Voice Memo
Create voice files and set them as alarms.
7.5 Emergency
Access emergency functions by selecting "Other \ Emergency".
- SOS Contacts: Add up to 5 emergency numbers.
- SOS Message: Create a predefined emergency message. Long press the [Power Key] (2 seconds) to send the SOS message and emit a loud alert. The phone will then automatically dial predefined emergency numbers.
- Activation: Press the [Power Key] to activate the emergency function.
7.6 Voice Dialing Assistant
Turn on/off to activate the Voice Dialing Assistant.
7.7 Call History
Access call history (outgoing, missed, received) by pressing a key from the Home screen.
7.8 SIM Services
Contact your network operator for available services.
7.9 Camera
Take photos and record videos. Save them, send them via MMS or Bluetooth, or use them to personalize your home screen.
7.10 Weather
Check weather forecasts for your favorite cities, up to 3 days in advance.
7.11 Bluetooth™
Access Bluetooth settings via the main menu by pressing the [Send Key] from the Home screen, then selecting "Other \ Bluetooth".
8 Calculator
Enter a number, select an operation, enter the second number, and press 'Equals' for the result.
9 Settings
Personalize your phone by selecting the settings icon from the main menu. Options include Phone Settings, Call Settings, Security, Network, Restore Settings, Profiles, Regulations and Safety, and Connectivity.
10 Maximizing Your Phone's Potential
ONE TOUCH Upgrade
Update your phone's software using the ONE TOUCH Upgrade tool available for download at www.alcatelonetouch.com. Follow the on-screen instructions. Note: All personal data will be permanently lost during the update process.

11 Text Input Mode
Choose between two text input methods:
- Normal: Type text character by character.
- eZi Text Predictive Input: Accelerates text composition.
Keyboard input keys:

- [Space Key]: Insert a space.
12 Safety Precautions
Vehicle Safety
Avoid using your phone while driving. Do not place the phone near airbags or vehicle electronic systems. Consult your vehicle manufacturer regarding radio frequency protection.
Conditions of Use
- Turn your phone off periodically to optimize performance.
- Turn off your phone inside an airplane.
- Do not turn on the phone in hospitals except in designated areas.
- Do not turn on the phone near gas or flammable liquids.
- Keep the phone at least 15 cm away from medical devices like pacemakers.
- To avoid hearing damage, do not listen at high volumes for extended periods. Keep the phone away from your ear when using the speakerphone.
- Do not allow children to use the phone unsupervised.
- Be aware that phone casings may contain substances causing allergic reactions.
- Handle your phone with care, keep it clean and dry. Avoid extreme temperatures (-10°C to +55°C).
- Emergency numbers may not be accessible on all networks; do not rely solely on your phone for emergency calls.
- Do not attempt to open, disassemble, or repair the phone yourself.
- Do not paint your phone.
- Use only ALCATEL ONE TOUCH approved batteries, chargers, and accessories.
- Dispose of your phone according to local electronic waste regulations.
- Back up important data regularly.
- Be cautious with bright flashing lights, especially if you have a history of epilepsy. Take breaks and play in well-lit rooms.
- If you experience discomfort during use, stop and rest.
Battery Precautions
- Ensure the phone is off before removing the battery.
- Do not attempt to open, puncture, disassemble, or short-circuit the battery.
- Do not expose the battery to fire, trash, or temperatures above 60°C.
- Dispose of batteries according to environmental regulations.
- Use only batteries designed for this phone.
- If your phone, battery, or accessories have the recycling symbol ♻️, take them to designated collection points.
- Caution: Risk of explosion if battery is replaced with an incorrect model.
Charger Information
Network chargers operate between 0°C and 40°C and comply with safety standards.
Electromagnetic Waves (SAR)
This mobile phone complies with international guidelines for exposure to radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic waves. The Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) limit is 2.0 W/kg. Actual SAR levels during use are typically lower than the maximum values. Tests were conducted at a 10 mm distance from the body for body-worn tests. To comply with RF exposure guidelines, use the phone at least 10 mm away from your body, preferably with an authorized accessory. 13 Warranty
Your phone is guaranteed for two (2) years from the date of purchase against defects under normal use, provided the original invoice is presented. The invoice must clearly state the name, model, IMEI, date, and seller. If a defect is confirmed, the phone or its parts will be replaced or repaired. Repaired phones are covered for three (3) months against the same defect. This warranty covers parts and labor but excludes other costs. It does not cover defects due to misuse, unauthorized modifications, accidents, or environmental factors. This warranty does not affect your statutory consumer rights.

15 Problems and Solutions
Before contacting service, try these solutions:
- Phone Locked or Won't Turn On: Check battery contacts, reinsert battery, charge for 20 minutes. If issues persist, try user data format or ONE TOUCH Upgrade.
- Phone Inactive: Restart the phone. Reinsert battery. If issues persist, try user data format or ONE TOUCH Upgrade.
- Phone Turns Off Automatically: Check if the phone is locked. Check battery charge. If issues persist, try user data format or ONE TOUCH Upgrade.
- Phone Not Charging Correctly: Use an authorized ALCATEL ONE TOUCH battery and charger. Ensure the battery is inserted correctly. Charge within normal temperatures (0°C to +40°C).
- No Network Connection / "No Service": Try a different location, check network coverage with your operator, verify SIM card validity, manually select networks, or try again later.
- Incorrect SIM Card: Ensure the SIM is inserted correctly and the chip is not damaged. Verify SIM service availability.
- Cannot Make a Call: Check the number, country codes for international calls, network connection, operator contract status, call restrictions, and flight mode.
- Cannot Receive a Call: Ensure the phone is on and connected to a network. Check operator contract status, call forwarding, blocked calls, and flight mode.
- Incoming Call Name/Number Not Displayed: Check subscription with your operator or if the caller has hidden their information.
- Contacts Not Found: Check SIM card condition and insertion. Import contacts from SIM to phone.
- Poor Call Quality: Adjust volume, check network signal strength, and ensure the earpiece/speaker is clean.
- Functions Not Working: Verify service subscription with your operator or if an accessory is required.
- Cannot Dial Contact: Check if the number is saved correctly and includes the country prefix for international calls.
- Cannot Add Contact: Ensure there is space on the SIM card; delete files or save to phone memory.
- Voicemail Issues: Check operator's voicemail number and network availability.
- Full SIM Card Icon: Delete or store messages on the phone memory.
- SIM PIN Blocked: Contact your operator for the PUK code.
- Maximizing Battery Life: Charge fully, turn off unused features like Bluetooth, reduce backlight time.
- Cannot Connect to Internet: Verify IMEI, internet service availability, phone connection settings, and network coverage.
- Cannot Send/Receive MMS: Check phone memory, contact operator for service and MMS parameters, and check SMS center/MMS profiles.
- Bluetooth Device Not Detected: Ensure Bluetooth is on and visible. Ensure devices are within range.
