Micron Fibreglass Filters
Micron filters operate on the basis of “depth filtration”. Dirt is driven through the filter bed and trapped in minute spaces between the particles of filter media. This allows cleansed water to pass through the filter's laterals and exit via the filter's Multiport valve.
Filter Configurations
Top Mount Configuration
Filter Mode
In Filter Mode (Top Mount), water enters the filter from the top inlet, flows downwards through the filter media. The cleansed water is collected by the laterals at the bottom and directed out through the multiport valve.
Backwash Mode
In Backwash Mode (Top Mount), the flow is reversed. Water enters from the bottom via the laterals, flows upwards through the filter media, dislodging trapped dirt. This dirty water is then flushed out through the multiport valve to waste.
Side Mount Configuration
Filter Mode
In Filter Mode (Side Mount), water enters the filter from the side inlet, flows downwards through the filter media. The cleansed water is collected by the laterals at the bottom and directed out through the multiport valve.
Backwash Mode
In Backwash Mode (Side Mount), the flow is reversed. Water enters from the bottom via the laterals, flows upwards through the filter media, dislodging trapped dirt. This dirty water is then flushed out through the multiport valve to drain.
Simple Maintenance
The effectiveness and efficiency of the filter can be impaired by excessive build-up of debris, which clogs the media, leading to increased pressure and poor circulation. Cleaning the filter is simple: turn the filter's Multiport lever from the "filter" position to the "backwash" position. This reverses the flow of water, flushing the filter bed.
Filament Wound Filters
Micron fibreglass filters utilize the latest in fibreglass winding technology. The vessels consist of an inner shell of fiberglass reinforced polyester resin, wound over with fibreglass filament. Waterco's digitally controlled filament winding machine creates a seamless, one-piece vessel with refined consistency and superior quality, free from welds, seams, or special tank linings that could corrode or electrolyse.

- 1. Inflow diffuser for even distribution of water flow across the filter bed.

- 3. Six-position Multiport valve with sight glass and quick connect half unions.
- 4. Fibreglass wound tank, UV and Corrosion Resistant.
- 5. Hydraulically balanced laterals to maximize water flow and filtration.
- 6. Manual Drain.
- 7. Large filter base for stable floor mounting.

Waterco Sidemount Fibreglass / Micron Top Mount Filters:
- Working pressure: 250 kPa (36 psi)
- Extra reinforcement available on request to increase working pressure to 400 kPa (58 psi).
- Maximum working temperature: 50°C (122°F)
Waterco Multiport Valves
Constructed from heavy-duty ABS, Waterco Multiport valves are designed for maximum performance and working pressures, engineered to withstand up to 400 kPa (58 psi) with a test pressure of 600 kPa (87 psi).
