Environmental Protection / Conservation Tips
- Always fill the washing machine with the maximum amount of laundry for the relevant programme.
- Wash laundry with normal soiling without a pre-wash.
- For normal loads, select Cottons/Coloureds 60 °C with the ecoPerfect option instead of Cottons/Coloureds 90 °C for comparable cleaning results with significantly lower energy consumption.
- Measure detergent according to manufacturer instructions and water hardness.
- Energy saving mode: The display panel lighting turns off after a few minutes; Start/Reload flashes. Press any button to reactivate the display.
- If drying laundry in a tumble dryer, select the appropriate spin speed according to the dryer manufacturer's instructions.
Automatic Stain Removal
The machine can automatically treat 16 different types of stain. No pre-treatment is required; the washing machine adapts the washing process accordingly (see page 6 for details).
Intended Use
- For domestic use only.
- For machine-washable fabrics and hand-washable wool in detergent solution.
- To be operated with cold drinking water and commercially-available detergents and care products suitable for washing machines.
- Do not leave children unattended near the washing machine.
- The washing machine is not to be used by children or persons unfamiliar with the operating instructions.
- Keep pets away from the washing machine.
Preparation
Before washing for the first time
Run a wash cycle without any laundry (see page 9).
Installation
Install correctly, according to the separate Installation instructions.
Check the machine
- Never use a damaged machine.
- Inform the after-sales service if the machine is damaged.
Connect the mains plug
- Make sure your hands are dry.
- Take hold of the plug only.
Turn the tap on
Ensure the water supply is turned on.
Washing Process
1. Open the door / set the programme:
If the childlock is active, deactivate it first (see page 5). Follow instructions on the display panel.
2. Load laundry:
Observe the load display on the display panel (see page 9). For optimal spin behaviour, load large and small items together. Avoid trapping laundry between the door seal.
3. Add detergent and care products:
Observe dosage recommendations on the display panel (see page 9). Dilute thick fabric softener and care products with water to prevent blockages.
4. Close the washing machine door.
5. Washing:
Press the Start/Reload button.
6. Programme finished:
When "Finished, Remove washing" appears on the display panel, the programme is complete. If the display is off, press any button to wake it up (Energy saving mode, page 1).
Switching Off
Turn the programme selector to Off.
Removing the Washing
Open the washing machine door and remove the laundry. If Rinse Hold (no final spin) was active, turn the programme selector to Drain or Spin and select the spin speed if necessary, then press Start/Reload.
Remove any foreign objects (risk of rusting). Leave the door and detergent drawer open to allow residual water to evaporate.
Cancelling the Programme
- High temperatures: Select Rinse, then press Start/Reload.
- Low temperatures: Select Spin or Drain, then press Start/Reload.
Changing the Programme
If you selected the wrong programme by mistake: Reselect the programme and press Start/Reload. The new programme will start from the beginning.
Adding Laundry
If "Start/Reload" is selected and "Top-up" appears on the display panel, you can add laundry. Do not leave the door open for too long. Select Start/Reload to continue.
Individual Settings
You can adjust various settings for programmes:
- varioPerfect: speedPerfect (shorter time) or ecoPerfect (energy saving).
- End time: Set a delay for the programme start (up to 24 hours).
- Pre-wash: For heavily soiled items (max. 30 °C).
- Less Ironing: Special spin sequence to reduce creasing.
- Signal: Adjust volume for programme signals.
- Button signal: Adjust volume for button presses.
- Language: Select display language.
- hydroRinse: Increased water level for gentler treatment.
- Rinse Hold: Laundry remains in the water after the final rinse (no final spin).
- Extra rinse: For sensitive skin or very soft water.
- Select stain: Automatic treatment for specific stains (see page 6).
Personalised Programme
You can store your preferred programme settings under Memory 1 and Memory 2. Set the programme selector to Memory 1 or 2, select programme and options using the buttons, adjust temperature/spin, and press Start/Reload.
The Correct Treatment for Every Stain
The machine offers specific programmes for 16 different stains. Select the stain type using the menu. The machine adjusts temperature, drum movement, and soaking time accordingly.
Examples:
- Egg: Soaked in lukewarm water with a higher water level and extra rinse cycles.
- Blood: Loosened in cold water before the main wash programme.

* Reduced load for speedPerfect option. Mixed Fabrics 40 °C with maximum spin speed is ideal as a short programme.
Programmes without pre-wash require detergent in compartment II; programmes with pre-wash require detergent divided between compartments I and II.
Safety Instructions
⚠️ Read the Instruction manual and Installation instructions and all other information enclosed with the washing machine and act accordingly.
Retain the documents for subsequent use.
- Risk of electric shock: Never pull the cable to disconnect the mains plug. Only insert/pull out the mains plug with dry hands.
- Danger to life: For appliances at end of service life: Disconnect the mains plug. Sever the mains cable and discard. Destroy the door lock to prevent children from locking themselves in and risking their lives.
- Danger of suffocation/poisoning: Keep packaging, film, and packaging parts out of reach of children. Keep detergents and care products out of reach of children.
- Risk of explosion: Items pretreated with cleaning agents containing solvents may cause an explosion. Rinse items thoroughly by hand beforehand.
- Risk of injury: The washing machine door and detergent solution can become very hot. Be careful when draining hot detergent solution. Do not climb onto the washing machine, lean on the open door, or reach into the drum if it is still rotating.

Important Information
Before washing for the first time
Do not load laundry. Turn tap on. Pour approx. 1 litre water and detergent into compartment II. Set programme selector to Easy-Care 60 °C and press Start/Reload. Turn selector to Off at the end.
Protecting the laundry and the machine
- Empty pockets. Look out for metal items (paperclips, etc.).
- Wash delicates in a laundry bag (tights, curtains, underwired bras).
- Fasten zips, do up buttons. Brush sand from pockets/collars. Remove curtain fittings or place in a laundry bag.
Loading laundry
Load large and small items together for optimal spin. Avoid trapping laundry between the door seal.
Soaking
Load same-coloured laundry. Add detergent to compartment II. Set programme to Cottons/Coloureds 30 °C and press Start/Reload. After 10 mins, press Start/Reload to stop, then restart or select another programme.
Starching
Use liquid starch in the fabric softener compartment (rinse first if necessary). Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener.
Dyeing/Bleaching
Use dye in normal household quantities. Salt may damage stainless steel. Follow dye manufacturer's instructions. Do not bleach clothes in the machine.
Load Display
The load sensor indicates how heavily the machine is loaded (does not weigh laundry).
Recommended Dosage
The machine provides a recommended detergent dosage percentage based on the detected load and selected programme.
Automatic Load Sensing
Sensors adapt water and power consumption to fabric type and load, independent of the load display.
Outdoor Fabrics / Waterproofing
Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener. Clean detergent drawer thoroughly. Use special detergent and waterproofing agents. Dosage as per manufacturer. Place detergent in compartment II, waterproofing agent (max. 170ml) in compartment ~ . Set programme to Outdoor Fabrics Waterproofing, select temperature, press Start/Reload.
Insert for Liquid Detergent
Positioning: Remove detergent drawer completely (page 10). Slide insert forwards.
Do not use insert (slide upwards): For gel detergents and washing powder, or for programmes with Pre-wash and End time option.
⚠️ Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the mains plug. ⚠️ Risk of explosion. No solvents.
Care
Machine housing, control panel
- Remove detergent residue immediately.
- Wipe with a soft, damp cloth.
- Do not clean with a water jet.
Cleaning the detergent drawer
If it contains detergent or fabric softener residues:
- Pull out drawer, press insert down, remove completely.
- To remove insert: press upwards from below.
- Clean drawer and insert with water and brush, then dry.
- Refit insert and drawer.
- Leave drawer open to evaporate residual water.
Drum
Use chlorine-free cleaner, not steel wool. Descaling is usually unnecessary if detergent is measured correctly. If needed, follow descaling agent manufacturer's instructions.
Information on the Display Panel
- Door open? Close door properly; check for trapped laundry.
- Tap closed? Open tap completely, check supply hose for kinks/traps, clean filter (page 11), check water pressure.
- Pump blocked! Clean detergent solution pump (page 11) or waste pipe/drainage hose (page 11).
- Pause no Top-up; Water level too high or Temperature too high: Not possible to add laundry. Press Start/Reload to continue.
- F: 23 Water in base tub, appliance leaking. Call after-sales service.
- F: 34 Washing machine door cannot be locked. Close door properly, switch appliance off/on, set programme, start. If fault persists, call after-sales service (page 13).
- Other displays: Switch off/on. If fault persists, call after-sales service (page 13).
Instructions for Blockages
Detergent solution pump
Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Open service flap. Remove drainage hose, remove sealing cap, allow solution to flow out. Unscrew pump cover carefully. Clean interior, pump cover thread, and pump housing (ensure impeller rotates). Replace cover, screw tightly, handle upright. Replace drainage hose. Refit service flap.
To prevent unused detergent from flowing into drain: Pour 1 litre water into compartment II and start Drain programme.
Drainage hose at the siphon
Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Loosen hose clamp, remove hose carefully (residual water). Clean hose and siphon. Reattach hose and secure.
Filter in the water supply
⚠️ Risk of electric shock. Do not immerse HydroSafe device in water. Reduce water pressure: Turn off tap. Select any programme (except Spin/Drain). Press Start/Reload for approx. 40 secs. Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Clean filter (disconnect hose, clean with brush; for Aqua-Secure models, remove hose from rear, remove filter with pliers). Reconnect hose, check for leaks.
What to do if...
- Water is escaping: Attach/replace drainage hose correctly. Tighten supply hose connection.
- No water entering drum: Start/Reload not selected? Tap not on? Filter blocked? Supply hose kinked/trapped?
- Washing machine door cannot be opened: Safety function active? Rinse Hold selected? Emergency release needed?
- Programme does not start: Start/Reload or End time selected? Door closed? Childproof lock active?
- Detergent solution does not empty: Rinse Hold selected? Clean pump or waste pipe/drainage hose.
- Water not visible in drum: Not a fault; water is below visible area.
- Unsatisfactory spin result / Laundry wet/too damp: Unbalanced load detection interrupted spin? Distribute laundry evenly. Less Ironing selected? Speed too low?
- Programme duration changes: Not a fault; sequence is optimised for the wash process.
- Spinning restarts: Not a fault; unbalanced-load detection is adjusting.
- Residual water in care product compartment: Not a fault; action of product not affected. Clean insert if necessary.
- Odours build up: Run Cottons/Coloureds 90 °C without laundry using standard detergent.
- Status display lights up / Foam escaping: Too much detergent used? Reduce dosage. Mix 1 tbsp fabric softener with 0.5L water and add to compartment II (not for outdoor/down fabrics).
- Loud spinning, vibrations, "walking": Are appliance feet fixed? Transportation safety devices removed?
- Noises during spinning/emptying: Clean detergent solution pump. Check circuit breakers/fuses. Energy saving mode active?
- Display panel/indicator lamps not functioning: Power cut? Circuit breakers tripped? Energy saving mode active?
- Programme sequence longer than usual: Not a fault; unbalanced-load detection or foam detection is active.
- Detergent residue on laundry: Occasionally, detergent powder has insoluble residues. Select Rinse programme or brush laundry. Use liquid detergent.
If a fault occurs repeatedly or cannot be resolved, call the after-sales service.
In Reload mode, Start/Reload flashes quickly with an audible signal: Water level too high. Close door immediately. Press Start/Reload to continue.
If you cannot correct a fault or repair is required: Turn programme selector to Off, disconnect plug, turn off water supply, and call after-sales service (page 13).
Emergency Release
In case of power failure, the programme may continue when power is restored. If laundry must be removed:
⚠️ Risk of scalding: Detergent solution/laundry may be hot. Allow to cool if possible. Do not reach into a rotating drum. Do not open door if water is visible.
- Turn programme selector to Off and disconnect the mains plug.
- Drain detergent solution (page 11).
- Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool to open the door.
