Important Information

Before washing for the first time

Do not load laundry. Turn tap on. Pour approx. 1 litre water and detergent into compartment II. Set programme selector to Easy-Care 60 °C and press Start/Reload. Turn selector to Off at the end.

Protecting the laundry and the machine

Loading laundry

Load large and small items together for optimal spin. Avoid trapping laundry between the door seal.

Soaking

Load same-coloured laundry. Add detergent to compartment II. Set programme to Cottons/Coloureds 30 °C and press Start/Reload. After 10 mins, press Start/Reload to stop, then restart or select another programme.

Starching

Use liquid starch in the fabric softener compartment (rinse first if necessary). Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener.

Dyeing/Bleaching

Use dye in normal household quantities. Salt may damage stainless steel. Follow dye manufacturer's instructions. Do not bleach clothes in the machine.

Load Display

The load sensor indicates how heavily the machine is loaded (does not weigh laundry).

Recommended Dosage

The machine provides a recommended detergent dosage percentage based on the detected load and selected programme.

Automatic Load Sensing

Sensors adapt water and power consumption to fabric type and load, independent of the load display.

Outdoor Fabrics / Waterproofing

Laundry must not be treated with fabric softener. Clean detergent drawer thoroughly. Use special detergent and waterproofing agents. Dosage as per manufacturer. Place detergent in compartment II, waterproofing agent (max. 170ml) in compartment ~ . Set programme to Outdoor Fabrics Waterproofing, select temperature, press Start/Reload.

Insert for Liquid Detergent

Positioning: Remove detergent drawer completely (page 10). Slide insert forwards.

Do not use insert (slide upwards): For gel detergents and washing powder, or for programmes with Pre-wash and End time option.

⚠️ Risk of electric shock. Disconnect the mains plug. ⚠️ Risk of explosion. No solvents.

Care

Machine housing, control panel

Cleaning the detergent drawer

If it contains detergent or fabric softener residues:

  1. Pull out drawer, press insert down, remove completely.
  2. To remove insert: press upwards from below.
  3. Clean drawer and insert with water and brush, then dry.
  4. Refit insert and drawer.
  5. Leave drawer open to evaporate residual water.

Drum

Use chlorine-free cleaner, not steel wool. Descaling is usually unnecessary if detergent is measured correctly. If needed, follow descaling agent manufacturer's instructions.

Information on the Display Panel

Instructions for Blockages

Detergent solution pump

Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Open service flap. Remove drainage hose, remove sealing cap, allow solution to flow out. Unscrew pump cover carefully. Clean interior, pump cover thread, and pump housing (ensure impeller rotates). Replace cover, screw tightly, handle upright. Replace drainage hose. Refit service flap.

To prevent unused detergent from flowing into drain: Pour 1 litre water into compartment II and start Drain programme.

Drainage hose at the siphon

Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Loosen hose clamp, remove hose carefully (residual water). Clean hose and siphon. Reattach hose and secure.

Filter in the water supply

⚠️ Risk of electric shock. Do not immerse HydroSafe device in water. Reduce water pressure: Turn off tap. Select any programme (except Spin/Drain). Press Start/Reload for approx. 40 secs. Turn selector to Off, disconnect plug. Clean filter (disconnect hose, clean with brush; for Aqua-Secure models, remove hose from rear, remove filter with pliers). Reconnect hose, check for leaks.

What to do if...

If a fault occurs repeatedly or cannot be resolved, call the after-sales service.

In Reload mode, Start/Reload flashes quickly with an audible signal: Water level too high. Close door immediately. Press Start/Reload to continue.

If you cannot correct a fault or repair is required: Turn programme selector to Off, disconnect plug, turn off water supply, and call after-sales service (page 13).

Emergency Release

In case of power failure, the programme may continue when power is restored. If laundry must be removed:

⚠️ Risk of scalding: Detergent solution/laundry may be hot. Allow to cool if possible. Do not reach into a rotating drum. Do not open door if water is visible.

  1. Turn programme selector to Off and disconnect the mains plug.
  2. Drain detergent solution (page 11).
  3. Pull the emergency release downwards with a tool to open the door.

After-Sales Service

If you cannot resolve a fault yourself, contact the after-sales service for a solution. Contact details are in the after-sales service directory.

Provide the product number (E-Nr.) and production number (FD) when contacting service. This information can be found on the inside of the washing machine door, opened service flap, or rear of the appliance.
