Installation & User Guide
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Before proceeding with installation, it is recommended to engage the services of a registered plumber. For ease of future servicing, consider fitting conveniently placed isolating valves. Carefully read and understand all written information provided.
Preparation Check Box for Installer
- [ ] Flush the plumbing system before installing the kitchen product.
- [ ] Once unpacked, remove Backnuts and Side Spray Connector ready for installation.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Mount Faucet
For deck-mounted installation, the faucet is fitted through 1" diameter holes with 7 7/8" center-to-center spacing on the work surface. The faucet is secured using a base ring, base seal, and backnut. For wall-mounted options, an NPT adaptor is used.
Ensure the mixer is oriented correctly, with levers pointing forward. After removing backnuts, place the complete faucet through the holes. Secure the mixer with a suitable faucet wrench. The kitchen faucet, especially with a side spray, has a brass tube protruding from the bottom of the shank; handle this with care to avoid damage.
If your mixer has a side spray, follow steps 2, 3, and 4 for installation. Otherwise, connect the hot and cold water supplies directly to the shanks. Ensure all connections are firmly tightened.
Step 2: Install hose through deck escutcheon
Secure the side spray unit socket in a suitable position using a faucet wrench. This involves placing it through a 1 1/8" hole in the deck escutcheon, secured by a backnut, fibre washer, and base seal. Place the flexible hose through the top of the side spray unit socket as shown in the diagram.
Step 3: Rotate rinse connector on hose before connecting to union
Connect the flexible hose to the union. Install washer "B" to attach the hose. Install washer "A" to connect to the cold water supply. Rotate the side spray connector onto the end of the flexible hose; do not twist the hose. Loosen the gland nut, but do not remove it. Ensure the connection is firmly tightened.
Step 4: Attach Connector
The side spray connector must be installed on the hose before mounting it on the cold side shank.
Important: Do not cut the brass tube. With washer "A" in place on the captive nut, push the connector onto the 3/8" cold supply tube. Fully tighten the captive nut onto the shank, taking care not to twist the hose.
Tighten the gland nut to fully compress the seals onto the brass tube. With a washer in place, hold the side spray and screw the flexible hose onto the end of the side spray, then place it into the side spray unit socket. Ensure the orientation of the side spray is correct.
Ensure all connections are firmly tightened.
Note: Ceramic disc valves are fitted as standard to this mixer. Flow from FULLY OFF to FULLY ON is achieved by rotating the handles a quarter turn.
BEFORE USE
- Carefully check the installation for leaks.
- If further building work is to be carried out in the vicinity, cover the tap with a plastic bag to avoid damaging the finish.
- Please ensure that the installation complies with local plumbing codes.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
Wipe down after use to avoid water spotting and mineral build up.
Occasional cleaning with warm soapy water, followed by a polish with a soft cloth, is all that is required to keep the plated finish in good condition.
Do not use proprietary abrasive liquids, powders, or pads to clean the shower. Do not use any products with ammonia bleach or limescale remover, as this will damage the plated finish and void your guarantee.
