Sunnydaze Decor Rustic Steel Affinity Fire Pit RCM-939
Assembly and Care Information
Product Overview
Thank you for choosing Sunnydaze Decor. This manual provides assembly and care instructions for the Rustic Steel Affinity Fire Pit (RCM-939). Please review all information before use and save for future reference.
Note on Finish: The rust patina finish is a result of the alloy steel being exposed to water and oxygen. The color may change over time. For outdoor use, covering the unit can help limit color change and further oxidization.
Assembly Surface: Assemble components on a soft, clean surface to avoid damaging the finish.
Rust Flakes: Rust may flake away during assembly. Use a drop cloth and avoid contact with clothing as rust flakes can cause staining, especially when in contact with water.
ATTENTION! Inspect packaging to ensure all parts are accounted for before disposing of packing materials. Save the packing slip.

Assembly Instructions
ATTENTION! Do not fully tighten any hardware until all components are loosely connected. If bolts are fully tightened right away, mounting holes may not align and parts may not easily fit together.
Turn each bolt by hand until the screw grips the mounting hole. Continue this process until all bolts are installed. After all components are loosely assembled, tighten all hardware.
Tip: Always fully insert the hex key into the designated notch of the bolt. If the hex key is not fully inside the notch, it could slip out, causing damage to the bolt head. Repeated slipping can round the notch, making it difficult to tighten the bolt.
Step 1
Parts: 6x Base Panel (B), 12x Bolt (D)
Align the holes on the straight end of one Base Panel (B) over the holes on the bent end of a second base panel. Hand-tighten two Bolts (D) to loosely secure the panels. Repeat this step until the base has been loosely assembled.
Step 2
Parts: 6x Bowl Panel (A), 18x Bolt (D)
Align the holes on the straight end of one Bowl Panel (A) over the holes on the bent end of a second bowl panel. Hand-tighten three Bolts (D) to loosely secure the panels. Repeat this step until the bowl has been loosely assembled.
Step 3
Parts: 1x Bottom Panel (C), 6x Bolt (D)
Ensuring the mounting holes align, place the Bottom Panel (C) onto the assembled base, then place the assembled bowl onto the bottom panel. Hand-tighten six Bolts (D) to loosely secure the components. Evenly tighten all 36 bolts.
Care & Maintenance
Safe Use
- Always use fire pits on a flat, non-combustible surface such as concrete, rock, or stone.
- Do not use on wood decks or other combustible surfaces like dry grass, leaves, mulch, etc.
- Avoid using near or under overhanging trees and shrubs, or near unprotected combustible constructions like vinyl or wood siding.
- The fire pit becomes extremely hot. Use fire-resistant gloves and long-handled tools when maintaining fires.
Prohibited Items
- NO ACCELERANTS, NO PLASTIC: Never use accelerants (e.g., gasoline, alcohol, paint thinners) to start a fire, as this is dangerous and can damage the fire pit. Never use plastic materials in or near the fire pit, as emissions are toxic and residue is difficult to remove.
Extinguish
- Let fires gradually die down and go out on their own.
- DO NOT use water to put out a fire, as the sudden temperature drop can damage the metal or cause injury. Use sand to extinguish the fire if necessary.
- Note: Ashes can remain hot long after a fire dies down. If you feel heat near the metal or ashes, the fire pit is too hot to safely empty.
Exposure & Maintenance
- The fire pit is constructed from durable metal, but high-intensity heat and humidity can affect its appearance and integrity over time. Periodic maintenance is required.
- Do not allow ash to accumulate in the bottom of the pit.
- Do not allow water to collect in the fire bowl.
- Never drop the fire pit, as this could cause permanent damage.
Cleaning
- Ensure the fire pit and ashes are completely cool before cleaning.
- Remove ashes and debris from the fire bowl before every use.
- DO NOT USE CHEMICAL-BASED CLEANERS, as they may damage the product or ignite a flame during the next use.
Cover and Store
- Ensure the fire pit is completely cool before covering (cover not included).
- Always clean the fire pit before covering.
- Do not allow the fire pit to be exposed to water. Storing in a dry location protects it from weather elements.
WARNING: THE ONE-YEAR WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER DAMAGES OR DEFECTS CAUSED BY THE APPLICATION OF CHEMICAL TREATMENTS, PROTECTIVE COATINGS, TOUCH-UP PAINT, OR CLEANING PRODUCTS.
