The appliance will turn off if not upright. 6 PREPARING FOR USE IMPORTANT! Two people are recommended for assembly · On a soft surface, turn the radiator upside down. It is recommended that one person holds the radiator steady during assembly to prevent damage. · Carefully slide out each of the four legs until they are fully extended. · Once the legs are extended, gently turn the unit to its upright position. WARNING: Do not operate without the castors. Only operate the heater in an upright position with the legs fully extended. POSITIONING THE HEATER · Place the unit in an upright position on a flat, stable and heat-resistant surface. · Ensure that there are no flammable or heat-sensitive materials or substances within 50cm of the unit. · Do not cover the heater. CONNECTING THE HEATER · Before inserting the plug into a suitable socket, ensure that the appliance is intact, properly assembled and that there are no signs of damage to the appliance or its power cable. · To avoid overloading a circuit, do not use the appliance on a circuit with other high-powered equipment unless you have confirmed the circuit is suitable. · Do not use with an extension lead. · With the power switch is in the OFF position, insert the plug into an earthed socket before following the operating instructions to use the product. REMOTE CONTROL The remote control follows the same button scheme as the control panel on the unit. Please see page 8 for details on the operation. The remote control contains a 2025 3V lithium battery. Please refer to the safety instructions for proper battery safety. 7 CONTROL PANEL ECO MODE INDICATOR Displays when ECO mode is enabled. POWER INDICATOR Displays when the unit is plugged in and the power switch is on TEMPERATURE INDICATOR When this is shown the appliance is displaying the temperature in in C. TIMER INDICATOR When this is shown, this appliance is displaying the duration of the timer. POWER INDICATOR Displays the current power level of the appliance. LOW = One bar MEDIUM = Two bars HIGH = Three bars ECO = Displayed separately on the top left corner of the display MODE THERMOSTAT TIMER INCREASE DECREASE Press the mode button repeatedly to cycle through the 4 modes available. ECO, HIGH, MEDIUM and LOW. Press the thermostat button, before using the + and buttons to set the desired room temperature. Note when a desired temperature is set, the unit will automatically enter eco mode. Press the timer button to initiate the timer. Set the duration of the timer using the + and buttons. Press to increase the desired room temperature, or the duration of the timer following pressing the appropriate button. Press to decrease the desired room temperature, or the duration of the timer following pressing the appropriate button. STANDBY When the unit is plugged in and switched on, press to start the unit and exit standby mode. 8 OPERATING THE HEATER Before operating the unit, ensure the guidance on preparing the product for use has been followed. BASIC OPERATION 1. Insert the plug into a suitable socket. 2. Locate the ON/OF switch on the side of the unit, and turn on the unit. 3. Press the standby button to begin operation. 4. Press the mode button to scroll through the power levels. 5. Press the thermostat button then use the + and buttons to select the desired room temperature. CHANGING THE MODE 1. When the heater is first powered on, the unit will start in ECO mode. 2. To change the heating mode, press the MODE button once to cycle through the available modes. The heating modes are as follows: MODE HIGH MEDIUM LOW ECO DISPLAY POWER (W) 2500 1500 1000 In ECO mode the power level is dependant on how near the room temperature is to the desired room temperature, and the power level is reduced as the target temperature is reached. 9 FURTHER INFORMATION ON SETTING THE DESIRED TEMPERATURE AND ECO MODE Press the thermostat button, and then use the + and buttons to select the desired room temperature (The available temperature ranges are between 5C and 30C) and the appliance will automatically enter eco mode at the current power level. During eco mode, the heater will automatically adjust the power level dependant on how near the room temperature is to the desired temperature set. NOTE: If eco mode is not required, once the desired room temperature has been set, the mode button can be repeatedly pressed to select the desired power level. USING THE TIMER The in-built timer will allow you to set the unit to turn on or turn off after a set period of time, please note only one timer can be used at any time. ON TIMER The timer will turn on the unit automatically after the time set has elapsed. 1. With the unit in standby, press the TIMER button, then set the number of hours' time you desire the unit to start using the + and buttons. 2. Once the set time has elapsed, the unit will turn on automatically. 3. Press the POWER button before the time has elapsed and the unit will turn on as normal and the timer will be cancelled OFF TIMER The timer will turn off the unit automatically after the time set has elapsed. 1. While the unit is operating with the desired settings, press the TIMER button, then set the number of hours' time you desire the unit to stop using the + and buttons. 2. Once the set time has elapsed, the unit will enter standby automatically. 3. Press the POWER button before the time has elapsed, the timer will be cancelled and the unit will turn off. 10 CONNECTING THE APPLIANCE TO WIFI DOWNLOAD THE APP TO YOUR PHONE Download the" TUYA SMART" app, from your chosen app store, using the QR codes below, or by searching for the app in your chosen store. ANDROID IOS MODES AVAILABLE FOR SETUP It is recommended to use Bluetooth connection to connect your unit to WiFi. This is the easiest connection method and will ensure that no time is wasted in getting to use your new heater to its fullest potential. To connect the unit to Wi-Fi via Bluetooth connection, ensure your mobile phone has both WiFi and Bluetooth enabled and simply plug the heater in and switch it on, the unit should now be in connection mode with the WiFi indicator flashing. If the indicator does not flash, follow the step below to reset the WiFi within the unit. We would advise that mobile data is turned off during the connection process. The unit can also be set up using the Quick connection method within the app. You can then follow the steps in the following sections to link the unit and customize your app. RESET THE WiFi To reset the WiFi, with the unit in standby, press and hold the Timer, - and Mode buttons for a couple of seconds until the unit bleeps and the WiFi indicator starts to flash. + + 11 REGISTER THE APP 1. Press on the register button at the bottom of the screen. 2. Read the Privacy policy and press the Agree Button. 3. Enter your email address or phone number and press continue to register. 4. A verification code will be sent by the method selected in step 3. Enter the code into the app. 5. Type in the password you would like to create. This needs to be 6-20 characters, with letters and numbers. 6. The app is now registered. It will automatically log you in following registration. 12 SETTING UP YOUR HOME WITHIN THE APP TUYA is designed so it can work with a large number of compatible smart devices within your home. It can also be set up to work with multiple devices within different houses as such during the setup process, the app requires that different areas are created and named to allow easy management of all your devices. When new devices are added, they are assigned to one of the rooms you have created. CREATING ROOMS 1. Press on the ADD HOME button. 2. Type in a name for your home, 3. Press on the location button to select the location of your home. (See SETTING YOUR LOCATION below) 4. New rooms can be added by pressing the ADD ANOTHER ROOM option at the bottom. (See ADD ANOTHER ROOM below) 5. Untick any rooms that are not required on the app. 6. Press DONE in the top right corner. SETTING YOUR LOCATION ADD ANOTHER ROOM Use your finger to move the orange HOME symbol. When the symbol is in the approximate location of your home, press the confirm button in the top right corner. Type in the name of the room, and press Done in the top right corner Location details allows the app to be set up later to respond to weather conditions in your area. 13 CONNECTING USING THE BLUETOOTH CONNECTION METHOD Before initiating the connection, make sure your mobile phone has Bluetooth enabled and that the unit is plugged in. Also ensure your phone is connected to the WiFi network. (We advise turning mobile data off during setup). 1. Open app and enter the home screen. Turn the unit on and on the app, press add device. 2. The heater will use Bluetooth to search for local devices Press the Add button to add a device using bluetooth 3. The heater will use Bluetooth to search for local devices Press the plus once the appliance has been discovered. 4. If prompted, select your WiFi network and enter your WiFi password, this is usually found on the back of your router. 5. Your device will then begin to connect. Once successfully connected, press Done 14 CONNECTING USING THE QUICK CONNECTION METHOD Before initiating the connection, make sure the WiFi indicator on the appliance is flashing. Also ensure your phone is connected to the WiFi network. (We advise turning mobile data off during setup) 1. Open app and press "+" to add device, or use the add device button 2. Select the type of device as "Heater (WiFi)" within the Small Home Appliance tab. 3. Press on the orange button at the bottom of the screen. 4. Confirm the light is flashing quickly within the app 5. Enter your Wi-Fi password if requested and press confirm. 6. This will then transfer the settings to the heater. Wait for this to complete. If this fails, retry. 15 CONTROLLING YOUR APPLIANCE THROUGH THE APP THE HOME SCREEN Each device has its own entry on the home screen to allow the user to either quickly turn the unit on or off, or to enter the device screen to make other changes. Voice Control: Press to give verbal instructions for operation. Add Device: Add a device to the app, and go through the setup process. Name of Heater: Press to enter the Device Screen Home: Return to home screen from the Smart Scene and Profile screens Smart Scene: Allows you to program intelligent behaviour based on the internal and external environment 16 Profile: Provides the option for changing settings, DEVICE SCREEN The device screen is the main control screen for the heater, providing access to the controls to amend the functions and settings. Back: Returns to the Home Screen Device Name Edit Name: Use to change the name of the heater Desired Room Temperature: Displays what has been set as the target room temperature. Decrease desired Temperature Temperature range 5-30C Current Mode: Shows the mode the heater is currently working in. Current Room Temperature: Shows the temperature the heater is currently working at. Increase Desired Room Temperature Temperature range 5-30C SWITCH: Use to turn the unit on or off. MODE: Use to change between Eco, Low, Medium and High Heat. TIMER: Use to set up a scheduled start or stopping time for the unit. NOTE: Due to continuous development of the app, the layout and available features may be subject to change. 17 SMART SCENES Smart Scenes is a powerful tool providing the option to customize the operation of the air heater based both on conditions within the room and outside influences. This gives the user the option of specifying much more intelligent actions. These are split into two categories Scene and Automation. TAP TO RUN Scene allows for a one touch button to be added to the Home Screen. The button can be used to change a number of settings in one go, and can change all the settings within the unit. A number of scenes can easily be setup, allowing the user to easily change between a number of preset configurations. Below is an example of how to set up a scene: 1. Press on the Smart tab at the bottom of the Home screen 2. Press on the Plus in the top right corner or on Add Scenario to add a smart scene. 3. Press the Pen next to "Please Enter Scene Name" to input the name for your Scene Show on Dashboard: Leave this on if you require the scene to be displayed as a button on the Home Screen Press the Red Plus to add the action required. Then select the heater from the list of devices. 4. Chose the function, set the value for the function, and then press the back button in the top right corner, to return to the previous screen. 6. Once all the functions required have been added, press the Save button in the top right corner to finalise and save your new Scene. It will then be saved to the home screen 18 AUTOMATION Automation allows an automatic action to be set up for the device. This can be triggered by the Time, and a range of other influences, depending what other TUYA enabled devices you have on the network. 1. Press on the Scene tab at the bottom of the Home screen 2. Press on the Automation tab at the top of the screen. 3. Press on the + at the top of the screen. 6. Chose the function, set the value for the function, and then press the back button in the top right corner, to return to the previous screen. 4. Setup is very similar to the scene setup on the previous page, and includes an extra section for specifying a trigger for the scene to start. 5. Select the condition when the automation should start. A number of triggers can be combined. Press the Pen next to "Please Enter Scene Name" to input the name for your Scene Press the Red Plus next to "When any condition is satisfied" to add the trigger Press the Red Plus next to "Execute following actions" to add the action required. Then select the heater from the list of devices. 7. Once all the functions required have been added, press the Save button in the top right corner to finalize and save your new scene. The automation is now set up, it can be turned on and off using the toggle on the home page. 19 SETTING THE UNIT TO WORK ON A TIMER The automation feature within TUYA can be used to set up timed operation, this is done through the automation within SMART SCENES. Follow the steps on the previous page, on the "SET A CONDITION" screen, set the condition as schedule, choose the time and days you require the unit to turn on. Then press next and In the "SET UP A TASK" screen, choose the appliance, then the option to power the unit on, and the other settings required. Once the ON time is set, repeat the steps to set when the unit will turn off. PROFILE TAB The profile tab gives you the option to edit both your detail, and use the added features of the unit. HOME MANAGEMENT Home Management proves options for managing your TUYA account, giving options such as adding a home, adding and removing rooms, and sharing devices with family. MESSAGE CENTRE View notifications from devices, if alarms are set up (dependent on device) HELP CENTRE Provides assistance using the features provided within the app MORE SERVICES This allows the unit to be integrated with your favorite home automation hardware such as Google Home and the Amazon Echo. CONNECTION TROUBLESHOOTING 1. Check whether the device is powered on and is in the correct Wi-Fi connection mode, if not please refer to the CHANGING BETWEEN CONNECTION MODES section. 2. Ensure the Wi-Fi password has been entered into the app correctly (Case sensitive) 3. Check that the phone is connected to the Wi-Fi you are connecting the device to. 4. Ensure the network you are connecting it to is 2.4Ghz (5Ghz Wi-Fi networks are not supported), and that there is a strong Wi-Fi signal to the item. 5. If your router is dual band, ensure that the 2.4ghz network has a different network name (SSID). Further advice on changing router settings will be available from your Internet service provider / Router manufacturer. 6. Check the settings on the router. Encryption should be WPA2-PSK and authorisation type should be set to AES Try using the alternative connection method. i.e. If connection is failing when attempting to connect through CF mode, try AP mode. 20 CLEANING, MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE ATTENTION: Please turn off the appliance and unplug from the mains before cleaning or performing any maintenance. · Clean the heater with a duster or a soft wet cloth. Do not use chemical solvents (such as benzene, alcohol or gasoline) as they may cause irreversible damage. Make sure no water enters the control panel or gaps in the casing. · Allow the unit to completely dry before operating. · Place the heater in its original box or cover to protect it from dust when not in use. · Store it in a cool dry place. Do not repair or disassemble the unit by yourself, unauthorised repair attempts will invalidate the warranty and may cause bodily harm. If using manually ensure all the segments are pushed to the outside of the dial. Turn the thermostat to MAX and check if the unit operates. Ensure the plug is fully inserted into the socket. Ensure the socket is turned on, and is functioning with other devices. Replace the fuse in the plug No action required. No action required. Place on a flat surface.
