Controlling Appliances:

Use only to control incandescent or dimmable CFL/LED bulbs.

Medical Equipment Warning: Z-Wave enabled devices should never be used to supply power to or control the ON/OFF status of medical life-support equipment.
Getting to Know Your Z-Wave Device
Maximum Load: 300W (2.5A) incandescent or 100W dimmable CFL/LED for the Z-Wave controlled outlet.
This device features:
- One Z-Wave controlled AC outlet for standard incandescent lighting or dimmable CFL/LEDs.
- Remote ON/OFF and brightness control via a Z-Wave controller.
- Manual ON/OFF and brightness control using the top-mounted push button.
- One always-on pass-through AC outlet.
- Space-efficient design that does not block the lower outlet of a duplex receptacle (when installed in the upper outlet with the ground pin down).
- Plugs and cords for connected devices route to the side, allowing close placement of furniture.
- Grounded 3-wire power connection for safety.
- Advanced features adjustable via a Z-Wave controller supporting the Z-Wave configuration command class. Visit www.ezzwave.com/config for a list of configurations.
Device Components:
- A. Z-Wave controlled outlet: This outlet allows remote ON/OFF and dimming of the connected lamp.
- B. Manual/program button:
- Single press: Turn the lamp ON/OFF.
- Press and hold: Dim/brighten the lamp.
- Single press: Add or remove the device from a Z-Wave network.
- C. Pass-through AC outlet: This space-saving outlet is always on and not controlled by Z-Wave.
- D. Cycle LED light: The LED serves as a guide light or status indicator. To cycle through options, press the program button 10 times quickly:
- LED is ON when the load is ON (default).
- LED is ON when the load is OFF (guide light in the dark).
- LED is always OFF.
- LED is always ON.
Installation:
- Plug the light you want to control into the Z-Wave controlled outlet on the smart dimmer.
- Plug the smart dimmer directly into an available grounded outlet (the top outlet is recommended).
Note: Plug directly into the outlet. Do not use with extension cords.
Dimmable Bulbs: Actual performance of CFL or LED bulbs varies by manufacturer. Only use bulbs designed as dimmable. Check bulb packaging or contact the manufacturer. For a list of recommended bulbs, visit www.ezzwave.com.
Adding Your Device to a Z-Wave Network
Inclusion Process:
- Follow the instructions provided by your Z-Wave certified controller to add a device to the network.
- When the controller is ready to add your device, press the manual/program button on the smart dimmer.
Once included, you can control your fixture's ON/OFF status and brightness through groups, scenes, schedules, and automations programmed by your controller. Remote access via mobile devices may be available if your controller supports it.
S2 Security Code: If prompted by the controller, refer to the product label for the S2 security code (PIN). Enter the 5-digit PIN.
Note: Please reference your controller's manual for specific instructions.
SmartStart Inclusion: Products enabled with SmartStart can be added to a Z-Wave network by scanning the QR code on the product with a SmartStart-compatible controller. No further action is required; the product will be added automatically within 10 minutes of being powered on within the network vicinity.
Removing and Resetting the Device
To Remove from Network:
- Follow your Z-Wave certified controller's instructions to remove a device.
- When the controller is ready, press and release the manual/program button on the smart dimmer.
To Return to Factory Defaults:
- Unplug the dimmer from the receptacle.
- Press and hold the top button for at least three seconds while plugging the dimmer back into a receptacle.
Note: This reset procedure should only be used if your network's primary controller is missing or inoperable.
Z-Wave Interoperability
This product can be included and operated in any Z-Wave network with other Z-Wave certified devices from different manufacturers. Non-battery operated nodes within the network will act as repeaters, regardless of vendor, to increase network reliability.
Association Command Class
This device supports the Association Command Class with three groups:
- Association Group 1: Supports Lifeline and Multi Level Report.
- Association Group 2: Supports Basic Set and is controlled with the local load.
- Association Group 3: Supports Basic Set and is controlled by double pressing the button.
Each Association Group supports a maximum of 5 nodes.
