IMPORTANT As the colours in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, please proceed as follows: The wires in the mains lead are labelled in accordance with the following code: Blue neutral [N] Brown live [L] Green/ Yellow [EARTH]
Plug Fitting Details (Where Applicable). The wire labelled blue is the neutral and must be connected to the terminal marked [N]. The wire labelled brown is the live wire and must be connected to the terminal marked [L]. The wire labelled green/yellow must be connected to the terminal marked with the letter [E]. On no account must either the brown or the blue wire be connected to the [EARTH] terminal. Always ensure that the cord grip is fastened correctly.

The plug must be fitted with a fuse of the same rating already fitted and conforming to BS 1362 and be ASTA approved. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you. Non-Rewireable Mains Plug. If your appliance is supplied with a nonrewireable plug fitted to the mains lead and should the fuse need replacing, you must use an ASTA approved one (conforming to BS 1362 of the same rating). If in doubt, consult a qualified electrician who will be pleased to do this for you. If you need to remove the plug - disconnect it from the mains - then cut it off of the mains lead and immediately dispose of it in a safe manner. it smoothly into the slots. Once placed onto the base, the iron will begin to heat up to your selected setting. 2. The indicator light on the body of the iron will illuminate to show the iron is heating. It only takes a few seconds for the iron to heat in between each use. 3. When ironing with the base attached, make sure the iron is locked to the base. To do this, slide the locking tab to the locked padlock position. To unlock simply reverse the procedure. Take extra care when locking and unlocking the iron while it is still hot.
Filling the tank with water: Caution! Before filling the tank with water make sure the appliance is unplugged 1. Remove the iron from the charging base before filling or emptying it. Set the steam control to

water tank to the maximum level. 3. Fill the iron with normal tap water when using it for the first time. 4. For refilling, you can also use tap water. However, if the water is very hard, it is advisable to use
distilled water. 5. Do not put vinegar, starch, chemically de-scaled water or de-scaling agents in the water
reservoir.

Once the temperature light has gone out and come on again, you may start ironing. 5. The temperature light will come on from time to time during ironing. 6. When setting the temperature control to a lower setting after ironing at a high temperature,
please allow time for the iron to cool, to prevent scorching on your garment.
Spray Function: · Press the spray button at any time to spray water on clothes. Note: Ensure that there is enough water in the tank to use the spray function. During first use, you may have to pump the spray button several times to start the spraying function.

Troubleshooting
Questions
The appliance does not produce any steam.
The iron leaves a shine or an imprint on the garment.

Answers
Fill the water tank to the MAX line. Press and hold the steam trigger until steam comes out. It may take up to 30 seconds until steam comes out. Press the steam trigger and keep it pressed when you iron.
The surface to be ironed was uneven, for instance because you were ironing over a seam or a fold in the garment.

The ironing board cover becomes wet or water droplets come out of the soleplate.

Steam has condensed on the ironing board cover after a long ironing session.

There is too much The default setting of the iron represents the optimal temperature. steam coming out of In this setting, the iron gives off a high steam output.
the iron.

Ironing tips: · When ironing a garment that consists of multiple fibre types it is recommended to use the
lowest heat setting. · Velvet and other textures that rapidly become shiny should be ironed in one direction with
light pressure applied. · Always keep the iron moving to prevent overheating of the fabrics. · Pure woollen fabrics (100% wool) may be ironed with the iron set to the steam position. · To prevent staining, do not spray water straight on silk or other delicate fabrics.

8

Cleaning & Care After ironing: 1. Disconnect the iron from the power supply and empty out any water left in the water tank. 2. Reconnect the iron into the power supply and disconnect it again after the indicator light goes
out. This helps dry out the soleplate. 3. Let the iron completely cool down, and then wipe flakes and any other deposits on the
soleplate with a damp cloth or a nonabrasive (liquid) cleaner. Clean the upper part of the iron with a damp cloth. Store the emptied iron horizontally on a stable surface with a cloth protecting the soleplate. 4. When not in use, store the appliance in a safe, dry place, out of reach of children. Self-cleaning: 1. Set the temperature control to the maximum position, then press the self-clean button for about 1 minute. Steam will emit from within the iron to clean the steam compartment. We recommend using the self-cleaning function approximately once every two weeks. Anti-calc: 1. The anti-calc function filters certain minerals from the water to prevent lime-scale residue from building up inside the steam compartment. However if you live in a particularly hard water area, we recommend using bottled or distilled water. WARNING: never pour vinegar or other liquid cleaners for eliminating calcium into water tank.
