All device materials can be used for materials and energy.
WHEELIE BIN SYMBOL
Crossed-out wheelie bin symbol
The crossed-out wheelie bin symbol on the product, battery, documentation, or packaging reminds you that all electrical and electronic products and batteries must be collected separately at the end of their service life. Do not forget to remove personal data from the device first. Do not dispose of these products as unsorted municipal waste: take them for recycling. For information about the nearest recycling point, contact your local waste management authority or read about HMD's return program and its availability in your country at www.hmd.com/support/topics/recycle.
BATTERY AND CHARGER INFORMATION
Safety information about the battery and charger
To unplug the charger or accessory, hold and pull the plug, not the cable. Extreme temperature conditions can affect battery life. Always keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatures reduce the capacity and lifespan of the battery. A device with a hot or cold battery may temporarily stop working. Accidental short-circuiting can occur when a metallic object touches the battery contacts. This may damage the battery or another object. Do not dispose of batteries in a fire, as they may explode. Observe local regulations. Recycle whenever possible. Do not dispose of as household waste. Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or damage the battery in any way. If the battery leaks, do not touch the liquid with your bare hands. If the liquid comes into contact with your eyes, wash them immediately with water or seek medical attention. Do not process, attempt to insert foreign objects, or immerse or expose the battery to water or other liquids. Batteries may explode if damaged. Use the battery and charger only for their intended purpose. Improper use or use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may present a risk of fire, explosion, or other hazards and may void approvals or warranties. If you think the battery or charger is damaged, take it to a service centre or your phone dealer before further use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Use the charger only indoors. Do not charge the device during a thunderstorm.
SMALL CHILDREN
Your device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of small children.
MEDICAL DEVICES
Radio devices, including wireless phones, may cause interference with medical devices that are not adequately protected. Consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer to determine if they are adequately shielded from external radio frequency energy. People with implanted medical devices (such as pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) are recommended to maintain a minimum distance of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) between the wireless device and the medical device. People with such implanted devices should:
- Always keep the wireless device more than 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) away from the medical device.
- Do not carry the wireless device in a breast pocket.
- Hold the wireless device to the ear opposite the medical device.
- Switch off the wireless device if there is any reason to suspect that interference is occurring.
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the implanted medical device.
If you have any questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult a healthcare professional.
HEARING
Warning: When using the earpiece, it may affect your ability to hear external sounds. Do not use headphones if it compromises safety. Some wireless devices may cause interference with some hearing aids.
PROTECT YOUR DEVICE FROM HARMFUL CONTENT
Your device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Take the following precautions:
- Be careful when opening messages. They may contain malware or be harmful to your device or computer in some other way.
- Be careful when accepting connection requests, browsing the internet, or downloading content. Do not accept Bluetooth connections from sources you do not trust.
- Install and use only services and software from sources you trust and that offer adequate security and protection.
- Install antivirus and other security software on your device and any connected computers. Use only one antivirus application at a time. Using more than the specified amount may affect the performance and operation of the device and/or computer.
- When accessing pre-installed shortcuts and links to third-party websites, take appropriate precautions. HMD Global does not endorse or take responsibility for such sites.
VEHICLES
Radio signals may affect improperly installed or inadequately shielded electronic systems in vehicles. For additional information, ask the vehicle manufacturer or the relevant equipment supplier. Installation of the device in a vehicle should only be carried out by authorised personnel. Improper installation may be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check that all wireless device equipment is correctly installed in your vehicle and is operating correctly. Keep flammable or explosive materials away from the device, its parts, and accessories. Do not place your device or accessories in the area of an airbag. Turn off the device in potentially explosive environments, for example, near petrol stations. Sparks can cause an explosion or fire and fatal injuries. Observe restrictions in areas with fuel, in chemical plants, or in areas where mining operations are carried out. Potentially explosive environments may not be clearly marked. These are typically areas where it is advised to switch off the vehicle engine, the lower decks of ships, places of transfer and storage of chemicals, and areas where the atmosphere contains chemicals or particles. To find out if it is safe to use this device near vehicles that run on liquefied petroleum gas (such as propane or butane), consult the manufacturers of those vehicles.
13 Certification information
About this mobile device and radio waves
This mobile device complies with radio frequency (RF) exposure guidelines. Your mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by international guidelines from an independent scientific organisation, ICNIRP. These guidelines include a significant safety margin intended to ensure the protection of all persons, regardless of age and health. The exposure guidelines are based on a specific absorption rate (SAR), which is a measure of the RF energy that is absorbed by the head or body when the device transmits. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg, averaged over 10 grams of tissue. Tests for SAR are carried out while the device is in normal operating positions and transmits at its highest determined energy level in all frequency bands. This device complies with radio frequency exposure guidelines when used against the head or when positioned at least 1.5 centimeters (5/8 inch) away from the body. Accessories used to carry the device against the body – such as a holster, belt clip, or other phone holder – should not contain metal parts and should be kept at least at the aforementioned minimum distance from the body. A good network connection is required to send data or messages. Sending may be delayed until such a connection is available. Until the sending is complete, follow the instructions on maintaining the distance from the body. During general use, the specific absorption rate values are usually much lower than the aforementioned values. This is because the system's efficiency is increased and network interference is reduced by automatically reducing the mobile device's power when full power is not needed for the call. The lower the output power, the lower the specific absorption rate value. Device models may have different versions and more than one value. Component and design changes may occur over time, and some changes may affect specific absorption rate values.
For more information, go to www.sar-tick.com. Please note that mobile devices may emit even when you are not making a voice call. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that existing scientific data do not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you want to reduce your exposure, it is recommended to limit your usage time or use a hands-free kit to keep the device away from your head and body. For more information, explanations, and discussions about radio frequency exposure, see the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1. Consult www.hmd.com/sar for the highest SAR value of the device.
