With installation that can be completed in less than 15 minutes, you'll be well on the way to wireless charging your phone in no time! Caution: This procedure is only compatible with vehicles that have a wireless phone charger built into the console from the factory. Step 2: Working on the same rear trim piece, remove the four T15 bolts from the inside of that tray. Work along the seam to protect the plastic cup holders. The top portion of the panel clips release upwards, therefore, you need to pry upwards. This is found on the rear of the console under the trim panel that was just removed. Remove the gray connector by pressing the release tab inwards. Step 2: Take the gray connector that was just removed and plug it into the black cylindrical plug on the provided wire harness. Note the new gray connector is now in place of the old gray connector. Step 4: Open and lift the center console lid. Take the single connector end of the wire harness and feed it under the center console's lid hinge. Step 6: The wire harness needs to be below the console hinge to prevent the wires from being pinched. Continue to run the harness under the hinge to make slack for future steps. Step 2: Moving back the to underside of the console lid, locate the factory charging unit. To remove, disconnect the wiring attach and unscrew the four T15 bolts. The original wireless charger can be discarded. Boost Auto Parts · 765-831-2830 · www.boostautoparts.com 9 2014-2019 GM Wireless Phone Charger Installation GM All Lights Mod Installation Step 3: To remove the old phone charging mounting brackets, these seven T15 bolts need to be removed from the underside of the console lid. Step 4: Pry the outer trim piece from the console with a trim tool. Wedge the tool between the outer most sides of the plastic trim piece to remove it. Once removed pick up and discard the old rubber mat that rested below. This would leave the orientation of the chargers button and lights to be towards the rear of the vehicle. Fully set the charger down on the console. Step 6: Reinsert the outer trim piece back on the console. Center both the wireless charger and the trim piece to insure proper alignment. Reinstall the seven bolts to secure the charger to the console. Notice: Over tightening the screws can damage the charging unit. It's recommended to only use hand tools to prevent over torquing the screws. Step 8: Utilizing the both wire harness provided connect the small two pin black connectors together. ! Boost Auto Parts · 765-831-2830 · www.boostautoparts.com 12 2014-2019 GM Wireless Phone Charger Installation Reassembling the Console Step 1: Before reinstalling the trim panel, make sure to hold the excess wire up and over to the right. The wiring harness needs to come out through the small gap by the right lid hinge. Step 2: Reinstall the under lid trim panel, verify that the wire harness is aligned with the gap at the bottom right. Make sure to apply tension to either ends of the harness as it can be damaged. Step 4: While holding the wiring up and away from the sides, grab the rear trim piece. Carefully reinstall the trim panel, keeping the wire harness tucked into the panel at the same time. Note the entire harness should be inside the console leaving no hanging out. Step 6: Place the rubber tray back into the rear of the console. It sits slightly lower than the charger mat to prevent unintentional activations. This button is the only way to turn the charger off/on and is used to change modes. Hold the button down for three seconds to turn the charger on or off. The red light will flash slowly before remaining off indicating the charger is off. If the light is not present while a phone is on it than it is not actively charging. Fully Charged: A solid green light indicates that the phone currently on the mat is fully charged. Press the center button once to change between modes. The different charger modes have no affect on the blue charging light. Mode 1: The red resting light, shown here, will come on and stay on anytime there isn't a phone actively charging. Mode 2: In mode two there will be no red resting light at all times. Solid Blue: No matter what mode the wireless charger is set to the charging light will always illuminate blue. If the light is not present while a phone is on it than it is not actively charging. Flashing Blue Light: This indicates that the phone is charging but the connection between the two is weak. Move the phone close to the center of the charger. Flashing Red & Blue lights: Any time the charger is experiencing an error it will flash both lights. Remove any items near the charger, and replace the phone down. Flashing Red Light: This indicates that the object on the mat is not compatible for wireless charging.
