1. Important Information

Safety

  • Before using Philips EasyKey, please read and understand all instructions. Damage caused by non-compliance with the instructions will not be covered by warranty.
  • Use only manufacturer-specified accessories/components.
  • Use only the alkaline batteries the product is equipped with, or use the same specification type of alkaline batteries.
  • Do not forcibly disassemble this product to avoid triggering an alarm or damaging the product.
  • Do not scrape the fingerprint sensor with sharp objects, otherwise it may cause permanent damage.
  • Do not expose products to environments where there is water leakage or splashing.
  • Do not expose the product to corrosive substances to prevent damaging the protective cover.
  • Do not hang objects on the handle, in case it might affect the normal use of the lock.
  • Please clean the product with a soft cloth.
  • Do not remove the battery during setting up and operating.
  • Please let a professional technician install the door lock and follow the installation guidelines provided. Do not disassemble the lock by yourself. Keep the relevant sealed stickers properly.
  • Please modify the default master PIN code immediately after finishing installing and debugging, and do not easily disclose the password information and also keep the mechanical key properly.
  • Please replace all the batteries immediately if there is a low battery alarm. Please make sure to correctly match the poles ([+] and [-]) when installing the batteries.

Caution

  • Do not place the battery near fire sources to avoid explosion.
  • Do not use any emergency power supply that does not meet the safety requirements to power up the product.
  • Do not connect the 2 poles of the batteries with metals to avoid short circuit, which may lead to an explosion.
  • Please ensure any component replacement is executed by Philips, a Philips authorized service center, or professional technicians.
  • Do not use accessories or parts produced by other manufacturers or not specifically recommended by Philips. The use of such accessories and parts may void your warranty.

Disposal of Used Products and Batteries

  • Your locks can be reclaimed at Philips authorized service centers. You will receive corresponding compensation if your products meet their conditions.
  • Please familiarize yourself with the local electronic product collection system.
  • Please follow local regulations and do not discard used products into ordinary household waste.
  • Proper disposal of used products can help to avoid potential negative impacts on the environment and human health.

Pre-installation Instructions

Step 1 | Determine Door Swing Direction

This product allows installation for doors swinging in four directions: left outward, right outward, left inward, and right inward.

Diagrams illustrate left-handed and right-handed doors with inward and outward swings.

Attention:

  • Please choose the proper installation kit to suit your door thickness.
  • The default installation kit is applicable for a door thickness of 60-90mm. If your door thickness is outside this range, please contact Philips.

Step 2 | Change the Orientation of the Latch Bolt

  1. Loosen the screws counterclockwise with an Allen wrench and remove the mortise plate. Diagram shows Allen wrench loosening screws on the mortise plate.
  2. Take out the latch bolt and rotate it 180°, then put it back. Diagram shows latch bolt being rotated.
  3. Mount the mortise plate and fasten it with screws. Diagram shows mortise plate being attached with screws.

Installation Steps

The following steps apply to right-handed doors. For left-handed doors, refer to Pre-installation instructions and make adjustments.

  1. Mark the hole for drilling using the drilling template, drill the marked hole, then mount the mortise into the hole and fasten it with four mortise anchor screws. Diagram shows drilling and mounting the mortise.
  2. Install the connecting screw tubes on the outside escutcheon, and put the compressed spring and square shaft into the square shaft holes. Diagram shows components being fitted into the outside escutcheon.

    Attention: Make sure the latch bolt stays inside the door during installation.

  3. Pass the cable through the hole and insert the square shaft of the outside escutcheon into the rotary hole on the mortise until the outside escutcheon is close to the door surface. Diagram illustrates passing the cable and aligning the escutcheon.

    Attention: Please choose the proper square shaft and connecting screw tube to suit your door thickness.

  4. Place the mounting plate against the inner surface of the door and fasten it with four M5 connecting screws. Diagram shows the mounting plate being attached from the inside.
  5. Put the compressed spring and square shaft into the square shaft hole of the inside escutcheon accordingly. Diagram shows fitting components into the inside escutcheon.
  6. Insert the cable of both the outside escutcheon and mortise into the corresponding sockets on the inside escutcheon. Then insert the square shaft of the inside escutcheon into the rotary hole on the mortise until the inside escutcheon is close to the door surface. Diagram illustrates connecting cables and aligning the inside escutcheon.

    Attention: Please hide the extra cables in the door hole or the inside escutcheon.

  7. Remove the deco cover at the top and press the button at the bottom of the rear escutcheon to remove the battery cover, then fasten the rear escutcheon with two M6 mounting screws. Diagram shows removing the cover and accessing the battery compartment.
  8. Put the deco cover back, install the lithium battery, and install the battery cover along with the strike. Diagram shows battery installation and cover replacement.
  9. Check whether the rotary knob, mechanical key, and all other components work properly. Diagram shows the fully assembled lock.

    Attention: After finishing the strike installation, please check whether the smart door lock can be used normally.

3. Get to Know Your EasyKey

Outside Escutcheon

Key components of the outside escutcheon:

  • 1. Door lock status indicator: Indicates the lock's status (e.g., blue for ready, green for unlocked, red for locked).
  • 2. Keypad: For entering PIN codes.
  • 3. Mute button: To mute or unmute the lock's audio.
  • 4. Doorbell button/Low battery voltage indicator: For doorbell function and low battery alerts.
  • 5. Push-pull handle: For unlocking and opening the door.
  • 6. Outside forced lock button: Activates a security feature.
  • 7. Camera: For video monitoring.
  • 8. PIR sensor: Detects motion.
  • 9. Fingerprint sensor: For biometric authentication.
  • 10. Reboot and emergency power supply interface: For emergency power and system reboot.
  • 11. Mechanical key hole: For manual key access.

Inside Escutcheon

Key components of the inside escutcheon:

  • 1. Battery cover: Covers the battery compartment.
  • 2. Battery compartment: Houses the lithium battery.
  • 3. Restore to a default setting button: Resets the lock to factory settings.
  • 4. Push-pull handle: For unlocking and opening the door from the inside.
  • 5. [OPEN/CLOSE] button: Used for various functions, including unlocking and mode switching.
  • 6. Rotary knob: For manual unlocking from the inside.
  • 7. Infrared sensor: For touchless unlocking from the inside.

4. How to Set Up Your EasyKey

Pre-setup Instructions

Philips EasyKey offers two modes:

  • General mode: Unlock with any registered identity information (PIN code or fingerprint).
  • Dual verification mode: Unlock requires two forms of identification: PIN code + Fingerprint.

You can record user information in the system. Use the following template to keep track of users:

Attention:

  • Press [*] key to return to the previous menu.
  • The default master PIN code is 12345678.

How to Enter Master Mode

Wake up the keypad and enter [#], then enter the master PIN code, and finally enter [#] to access master mode.

Attention: The keypad can only be woken up by pressing keys.

Change Master PIN Code

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [1] to change the master PIN code.
  3. Enter the new master PIN code and confirm with [#]. Re-enter the new master PIN code and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to return to the previous menu until you exit master mode.

Add a New User

Add a User PIN Code

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [2] for user registration, then [1] to add a new user PIN code. The system will automatically number it and generate a voice prompt.
  3. Enter a new user PIN code (6 to 12 digits) and confirm with [#]. Re-enter the new PIN code and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Add a Fingerprint

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [2] for user registration, then [3] to add a user fingerprint. The system will automatically number it and generate a voice prompt.
  3. Place your finger on the fingerprint sensor until you hear a voice prompt of “Move your finger and put on again”. Lift your finger and repeat the process until you hear a voice prompt of “Succeeded”. After successful registration, press [*] to exit master mode.

Add One-Time PIN Code

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [2] for user settings, then [2] again to add a one-time PIN code.
  3. Enter a new one-time PIN code (6 to 12 digits) and confirm with [#]. Re-enter the new PIN code and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Delete a User Record

Delete a Single User PIN Code

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [3] for user record deletion, then [1] for user PIN code deletion, then [1] to delete a single user PIN code.
  3. Enter a 2-digit user code (00-19) to be deleted and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Delete All User PIN Codes

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [3] for user record deletion, then [1] for user PIN code deletion, then [2] to delete all user PIN codes. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Delete One-Time PIN Code

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [3] for user record deletion, then [2] to delete one-time PIN code. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Delete Fingerprints

Delete a Single Fingerprint

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [3] for user record deletion, then [3] for user fingerprint deletion, then [1] to delete a single fingerprint.
  3. Enter a 2-digit user code (00-99) to be deleted and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Delete All Fingerprints

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [3] for user record deletion, then [3] for user fingerprint deletion, then [2] to delete all fingerprints. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

System Initialization

Remove the battery cover, then double press the [RES] hole with a sharp object. When you hear a voice prompt of “Restoring to default settings”, it means all user records are deleted.

System Settings

Language Settings

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [4] for system settings, then [1] for language settings.
  3. Choose the language: Press [1] for Chinese; press [2] for English. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Attention: The default language is English.

Volume Settings

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [4] for system settings, then [2] for volume settings.
  3. Choose the volume: Press [1] for high volume; press [2] for low volume; press [3] for mute mode. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Attention: The default volume is “high volume”.

Locking Mode

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [4] for system settings, then [4] again for locking mode.
  3. Press [1] to enable auto mode and press [2] to enable manual mode. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Switch to Dual Verification Mode

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [4] for system settings, then [3] for dual verification mode.
  3. For single verification mode, press [1]; for dual verification mode, press [2]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Succeeded”, press [*] to exit master mode.

Extended Functions

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [5] for extended functions.
  3. To join a network, press [1]. To exit a network, press [2]. Before setting up extended functions, please download and open the official app on your mobile phone.

System Query

Security Code Query

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [6] for system query, then [1] to check the security code. The system will automatically broadcast the product series number.

Attention: Directly enter 400# to go into system query.

Local Query

  1. Enter [#] and the master PIN code, then confirm with [#].
  2. Enter [6] for system query, and [2] to check the software version. The system will broadcast it automatically.

Attention: Directly enter 114# to go into the local query.

App Pairing Guide

  1. Make sure the installation of the smart door lock is completed properly.
  2. Please scan the QR code below to install the official app. (If you have downloaded the official app previously, please ensure it is up to date). Description of QR code scanning for app download.
  3. Create an account and log in the official app. Choose “Add a device” on the first screen, then choose “Smart video door lock” to complete the pairing setup.
  4. Enter [#] on the smart door lock keypad and the master PIN code, then enter [#] again to go to master mode. Enter [5] and then [1] to join a network. You will hear a voice prompt of “network connecting, please wait”.
  5. Once you enter the pairing screen, follow the app's hints to enter a Wi-Fi password. A QR code will be generated. Align it with the smart lock's camera. After scanning, complete the pairing setup in the app.

Attention: The smart lock is only compatible with routers supporting 2.4 GHz (5G Hz Wi-Fi is not supported). Ensure the distance between the smart lock and the router is less than 10 meters, otherwise connectivity may be affected.

5. How to Use EasyKey

Unlock from Inside or Outside

Unlock from Outside

  • With PIN Code: Touch the digit input area to light up the keypad, enter the registered PIN code, and confirm with [#]. After hearing a voice prompt of “Door opened”, push or pull the door to unlock.
  • With Fingerprint: Place the registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. When you hear a voice prompt of “Door opened”, push or pull the handle to unlock.

Unlock from Inside

  • With a Rotary Knob: Philips EasyKey uses an indoor fast-opening mortise. You can unlock the door from the inside by rotating the rotary knob.
  • With a Functional Button: Double press the [OPEN] functional button within one second, then push or pull to unlock the door.
  • With an Infrared Sensor: Philips EasyKey has an infrared sensor on the handle. When triggered, press the sensor module on both sides of the handle simultaneously to unlock the door.

Lock from Outside or Inside

The latch bolt will pop up automatically when the door is closed, accompanied by a voice prompt of “Door Close”.

Inside Deadlock

When the EasyKey is locked, long press the [CLOSE] button until the indicator flashes red once, then a voice prompt of “Inside deadlock enabled” will sound.

Attention: When the door is under inside deadlock mode, the outside escutcheon locks. Waking the system manually will display “15937(X)” on the keypad with a voice prompt of “Inside deadlock enabled”. All outside escutcheon operations are disabled. Master PIN code verification or mechanical key opening is required to release the deadlock.

Unlock with Mechanical Key

  1. Cut the mechanical box and take out the key. Push the cover aside and reveal the key. Diagram shows accessing the mechanical key.
  2. Insert the key into the keyhole; the key should be vertical to the key shell. Turn the key shell by 90° in the direction of the handle until it is close to the lock. Diagram shows key insertion and turning.
  3. Make a 180° clockwise twist, ensuring the key shell is parallel to the horizontal plane. Then rotate the key cover horizontally in the direction of the handle to unlock. Diagram shows final unlocking turn.

Attention: It is recommended not to use mechanical keys daily unless there is an emergency, such as a dead battery, forgotten password, or system malfunction.

6. Other Functions

Indoor Infrared Sensor Unlock

Function: Allows easy unlocking from the inside when enabled.

How to Use: Philips EasyKey has an infrared sensor on the handle. When triggered, press the sensor module on both sides of the handle simultaneously to unlock the door.

Enable/Disable: Long press the [OPEN/CLOSE] button. Green light glows for enable, red light glows for disable.

Attention: If infrared sensor unlocking is disabled, indoor inductive unlocking is inactive. Touching both front and rear sensing areas on the handle will light up red to indicate indoor inductive unlocking is off.

Outside Forced Lock

Function: Unlocking from inside triggers an alert.

How to Use: After locking the door, long press the button for 2 seconds to enter outside forced lock mode.

Attention: Enabling this function does not affect normal unlocking from the outside.

Mute Mode

Function: Mutes the lock and voice guide, useful for not disturbing others.

How to Use:

  • Mute: When the system is awake, long press the [Mute] button for 2 seconds until it glows green.
  • Unmute: When the system is awake, long press the [Mute] button for 2 seconds until it glows white, and sound will resume.

Restore to Default Settings

Function: Empties all user information and restores the EasyKey to default settings.

How to Use: Use a sharp object to double press the [RES] button. All user information will be cleared, and the lock will be restored to default settings.

Doorbell

Function: Indicates someone is at the door when the doorbell sounds.

How to Use: When a visitor presses the doorbell, the indoor chime sounds. The camera captures a video clip and sends it to the paired app. You receive a notification on your phone to check the situation remotely.

Attention: When you press the doorbell key, the light will flash twice in blue.

Two-Way Video Intercom

Function: View the situation outside the front door and communicate with visitors via the mobile app.

How to Use: When paired with the mobile app, you can view the outside situation and talk to visitors in real-time.

7. Indicators Meaning and Usage

Door Lock Status Indicator

Diagram shows the location of the door lock status indicator.

  • Blue: System wakes up, ready for use.
  • Green: Door is unlocked and open.
  • Red: Door is locked and closed.

Low Battery Voltage Indicator

Diagram shows the keypad with the low battery voltage indicator highlighted.

Red: When the system wakes up, it checks battery voltage. If too low, the light flashes red, and a voice prompt “Low battery voltage, please replace all batteries” is given.

Outside Forced Lock Indicator

Diagram shows the keypad with the outside forced lock indicator highlighted.

  • White: Indicates the door is locked and outside forced locking can be enabled. When outside forced lock mode is active, the light glows upon system wake-up.

Mute Mode Indicator

  • White: Indicates mute mode is off.
  • Green: Indicates mute mode is on.

Inside Deadlock Indicator

When the door is under inside deadlock mode, the keypad locks. Waking the system manually displays “15937(X)” on the keypad with a voice prompt of “Inside deadlock enabled”.

System Freezing Indicator

Diagrams show different flash patterns (three times, twice, once) corresponding to time durations (3 minutes, 2 minutes, 1 minute).

If there are 5 consecutive incorrect inputs (fingerprint, PIN code) within 5 minutes, the system will lock up for 3 minutes.

Attention: Numbers appear only when waking the outside escutcheon or verifying user identity.

[OPEN/CLOSE] Indicator

  • Red light flashing twice: Door locked successfully.
  • Green light flashing twice: Door unlocked successfully.
  • Red light flashing once: Door is under deadlock mode.

Infrared Sensor Unlocking Indicator

  • Fast flashing in green: Infrared sensor unlocking is on.
  • Fast flashing in red: Infrared sensor unlocking is off.

8. Troubleshooting

Alert Types and Methods

Alert to Unlock from Inside Under Outside Forced Lock Mode

  • Way to trigger: An alert is triggered when the door is unlocked from inside while in outside forced lock mode.
  • Way to be alerted: Repeat alerts.
  • Way to turn off: The alert turns off once identity verification is successful.

Low Battery Voltage Alert Reminds You to Replace the Batteries

  • Way to trigger: When the system wakes up, it checks battery voltage. If too low, an alert is triggered.
  • Way to be alerted: A voice prompt “Low battery voltage, please replace all batteries” is given when unlocking the door.
  • Way to turn off: The alert is automatically turned off.

Anti-dismantling Alert

  • 1. Way to trigger: The door is pried apart and the latch bolt is popped up.
  • Way to be alerted: Repeat alerts.
  • Way to turn off: Automatically turns off or upon successful identity verification.
  • 2. Way to trigger: The outside escutcheon is pried open, creating a gap between the door and the escutcheon.
  • Way to be alerted: Repeat alerts.
  • Way to turn off: Automatically turns off, upon successful identity verification, or by unlocking the door normally from inside.

Anomalous Deadbolt Alert

  • Way to trigger: The deadbolt works abnormally, causing failure in locking or unlocking the door.
  • Way to be alerted: Repeat alerts.
  • Way to turn off: The alert is automatically turned off.

Motion Sensor Alert

  • Way to trigger: An alert is triggered when an unexpected person stays outside for more than 30 seconds within a certain distance.
  • Way to be alerted: The camera records 10 seconds of video and sends instant notifications to the mobile app.
  • Way to turn off: The motion sensor alert is off by default. It can be turned on or off via the mobile app.

Attention:

  • Once the smart door lock is restored to default settings, the PIR motion sensor is turned off. To enable it, install the official app, choose “Add a device”, pair successfully, then go to “motion sensor alert” settings.
  • When paired with the mobile app, you can set the motion sensor's sensitivity. Default detection distance is 3 meters, and default stay length is 10 seconds.
  • High frequency of functions increases power consumption. It is advised to set the minimum sensitivity level, limit detection distance to 3 meters, and set stay length to 30 seconds to reduce power consumption.

How to Charge EasyKey in an Emergency

When the battery voltage is low and the door cannot be opened from outside, power up the lock by plugging a 5V power bank into the micro USB port. After unlocking, replace the batteries instantly. If the system crashes and the lock cannot be unlocked, reboot the system using the micro USB port.

How to Replace Batteries

The smart door lock is powered by a 5000mA/h lithium battery. The battery compartment is in the lower part of the inside escutcheon. Press the button near the bottom of the inside escutcheon, then remove the battery cover to replace the lithium battery.

How to Charge the Lithium Battery

Press the button near the bottom of the inside escutcheon, remove the battery cover, and take out the lithium battery. Charge the lithium battery using the USB port.

Attention:

  • Lithium battery is guaranteed for one year; battery life is 300 charge/discharge cycles.
  • Charge cut-off voltage for a lithium battery is 5V.
  • A bad network connection will increase power consumption.
