Installation Instructions
Preparing the Cut-Out
Cut the work surface according to the diagram. Ensure a minimum of 5cm space around the cut-out.
Work surface thickness must be at least 30mm. Use heat-resistant, insulated material. Avoid wood and similar fibrous or hygroscopic materials unless impregnated.
Diagram Description: A diagram shows the cut-out dimensions for the cooktop. Key dimensions include 590mm width, 520mm depth, with specific cut-out dimensions of min. 560+2mm and min. 480+2mm. A minimum clearance of 50mm is indicated around the edges, and a minimum of 3mm safety distance between the cooktop sides and inner worktop surfaces.
Ensuring Adequate Ventilation
Ensure the ceramic cooktop is well ventilated with unobstructed air inlet and outlet. To prevent accidental contact with the hot bottom or electric shock, install a wooden insert fixed by screws at a minimum distance of 25mm from the bottom of the cooktop.
Diagram Description: A diagram illustrates ventilation requirements. It shows a cutaway view of the cooktop installed in a countertop, indicating minimum clearances (e.g., min. 25mm from the bottom, max. 5mm from sides) and an 'Air Intake' area. It also highlights the importance of ventilation holes around the hob not being blocked by the worktop.
Important Notes:
- Ensure ventilation holes around the hob are not blocked by the worktop.
- Cabinetry glue must be resistant to 150°C.
- Rear wall and surrounding surfaces must withstand 90°C.
- Worktop must be at least 30mm thick.
- To avoid damage, sandwich layer and adhesive must be heat-resistant.
- Do not use a steam cleaner.
Installation Safety Warnings
- Installation must be by an authorised technician or similarly qualified person. Manufacturer is not responsible for damage from unauthorized installation.
- Do not mount to cooling equipment, dishwashers, or rotary dryers.
- Install for optimal heat radiation and reliability.
- Wall and induced heating zones must withstand high temperatures.
- Ensure sandwich layer and adhesive are heat-resistant.
Applying the Fixing Brackets
Place the unit on a stable, smooth surface. Do not apply force to protruding controls. Fix the hob to the work surface using the four brackets on the bottom.
Important: Adjust bracket position to suit work surface thickness. Brackets must not touch inner surfaces of the worktop after installation.
Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrate bracket application. Diagram (a) shows a screw-hole, screw, base, and bracket. Diagram (b) shows side views of the hob and table, with a bracket positioned to secure the hob, indicating the need for proper adjustment based on table thickness.
Connecting the Hob to the Mains Power Supply
- Connect power supply in compliance with relevant standards or a single-pole circuit breaker.
- If the cable is damaged, an after-sales technician must replace it using proper tools.
- If connecting directly to mains, install an omnipolar circuit breaker with a minimum 3mm gap between contacts.
- Installer must ensure correct electrical connection and compliance with safety regulations.
- Cable must not be bent or compressed.
- Cable must be checked regularly and replaced only by a qualified person.
- The bottom surface and power cord should not be accessible after installation.
Diagram Description: A wiring diagram shows connections for three different voltage configurations (220-240V~ and 400V~) using wires labeled Yellow/Green, Black, Brown, Grey, and Blue, corresponding to L1, L2, N1, N2.

Operating Instructions
Using the Touch Controls
- Read the manual carefully, especially the Safety Information.
- Remove any protective film after unpacking.
- Controls respond to touch; use the pad of your finger, not the tip. A beep confirms touch.
- Keep controls clean and dry. Objects or moisture can make them unresponsive.
Diagram Description: Two illustrations show correct (pad of finger, checkmark ✔️) and incorrect (tip of finger, cross mark ❌) ways to operate touch controls.
Choosing the Right Cookware
- Do not use cookware with jagged edges, coarse/uneven surfaces, chipped bottoms, or curved bases. (Visuals show ❌ for unsuitable cookware).
- Ensure the pan base is smooth, flat, and matches the cooking zone size. Center the pan. (Visuals show ❌ for unsuitable, ✔️ for suitable).
- Always lift pans off the ceramic hob; do not slide them, as this can scratch the glass. (Visuals show ❌ for sliding, ✔️ for lifting).
Cooking With Your Ceramic Cooktop
- Touch the Power button ⏻ to turn the cooktop on. A buzzer and indicator lights confirm power.
- Place a suitable pan on the cooking zone. Ensure the pan base is clean, dry, flat, and matches the zone size.
- Adjust heat settings using the ➕ and ➖ buttons. The cooktop will auto-switch off if no setting is chosen within one minute.
- To turn off a zone, set its temperature to '0' using ➖ or hold ➖ and ➕ for several seconds.
- 'H' on the display indicates a hot cooking zone. It turns off when the surface is cool enough to touch. 'H' can also be used for energy-saving residual heat cooking.
- To turn the cooktop off, press the power button ⏻ until indicators are off.
- The surface may remain hot for some time. Exercise caution, especially with children. Avoid touching the surface or leaving objects on/near it after cooking.
Using the Timer Function
The timer can be used as a minute minder or to automatically shut off cooking zones (up to 99 minutes).
- As a Minute Minder: Use ➕/➖ buttons to set time (1-minute increments). Holding buttons sets in 10-minute increments. Max 99 minutes. Hold both buttons to cancel. Display counts down. A tone sounds when time elapses.
- To Shut Down Cooking Zones: Touch zone buttons, then set time as above. A red decimal point indicates the timer is set for that zone. When time elapses, the zone switches off automatically.
Activating the Child Safety Lock
Locks controls, except the Power button. To lock: touch the Child Safety Lock button ?; display shows 'Lo'. To unlock: ensure cooktop is on, then touch and hold the Child Safety Lock button for several seconds.
Auto-Shutdown Protection
A safety feature that automatically shuts down the cooktop if accidentally left running. Despite this, always exercise awareness while cooking.
Auto-Shutdown Times:
Power Level: | 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 | 9 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Shut Down In: | 8hr | 8hr | 8hr | 4hr | 4hr | 4hr | 2hr | 2hr | 2hr |
When a pot is removed, the zone stops heating and switches off after two minutes.
Over-Temperature Protection
An internal sensor monitors temperature. If excessive heat is detected, the cooktop automatically stops operation.
Care & Maintenance
Care and Cleaning Guide
Marks, Blemishes or Spots | Solution | Warning |
---|---|---|
Everyday soiling on glass (fingerprints, marks, stains from food or non-sugary spills) | 1. Switch power off at the wall. 2. Apply ceramic cooktop cleaner while glass is warm (not hot). 3. Rinse and wipe dry with a clean cloth or paper towel. 4. Switch power back on. |
When power is off, 'hot surface' indication is absent, but zones may still be hot. Take care. Heavy-duty scourers, nylon scourers, and harsh/abrasive cleaners can scratch the glass. Always check cleaner suitability. Never leave cleaning residue; it may become a stain. |
Boil-overs, melts, and hot sugary spills on the glass. | Remove immediately with a fish slice, palette knife, or scraper suitable for ceramic cooktops (beware of hot surfaces). 1. Switch power off at the wall. 2. Hold blade/utensil at a 30° angle and scrape towards a cooler area. 3. Clean with a dish cloth or paper towel. 4. Follow steps 2-4 above. |
Remove stains left by melts/sugary food ASAP. If left to cool, they may be difficult to remove or permanently damage the glass surface. Cut Hazard: Scraper blades are razor-sharp. Use with extreme care and store safely out of reach of children. |
Spillovers on the touch controls. | 1. Switch power off at the wall. 2. Soak up the spill. 3. Wipe touch control area with a clean, damp sponge or cloth. 4. Wipe completely dry with a paper towel. 5. Switch power back on. |
The cooktop may beep and turn off, and controls may not function if liquid is present. Ensure the touch control area is dry before turning the cooktop back on. |
Troubleshooting
For Minor Faults
Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
The cooktop cannot be turned on. | No power to the cooktop. | Ensure cooker is connected and switched on. Check for power outage. Contact Support Team if problem persists. |
The touch controls won't respond, or are difficult to operate. | Controls may be locked, or there may be a slight film of water on controls. Using the tip of the finger instead of the pad. | Unlock controls (see page 13). Ensure controls are dry. Use the pad of your finger. |
The cooktop has been scratched. | Rough-edged cookware or unsuitable cleaning products (abrasive scourer) used. | Use cookware with flat and smooth bases (see page 11). |
Some cookware makes crackling or clicking noises. | Caused by cookware build-up, as different layers of metals vibrate. | This is normal and does not indicate a fault. |
The cooktop, or a zone, has turned off unexpectedly, and a tone is sounding with an error code. | Result of a technical fault. | Note down error code. Switch off power at the wall and contact Support Team (1300 11 4357 or support@residentiagroup.com.au). |
For Serious Faults:
- If an emergency or serious fault occurs, immediately set all controls to off and disconnect power.
- DO NOT attempt repairs yourself; wait for a service agent.
- Contact Support Team (1300 11 4357 or support@residentiagroup.com.au) for assistance or to organize a service agent.
- Note: You may be liable for call-out charges if a service agent finds no appliance fault.
- Ensure the appliance is accessible for service. If installation poses a risk of damage, the agent may not complete the repair.
Cooktop Fault Codes & Solutions
Fault Code | Possible Cause | Solution |
---|---|---|
'E0', 'E1', 'E2', 'E7', 'C1' | Zero error. Temperature sensor failure (short-circuiting). | Reinsert connection between display and power boards, or replace power board. Check/repair circuit connection or replace sensor. Do not attempt repairs yourself. Note code and call Support Team. |
'E3', 'E4' | NTC temperature sensor failure (open circuiting or short circuiting). | Allow cooktop to cool down. If problem persists, call Support Team. Display board may need replacement. Note code and call Support Team to organize service agent. |
'El', 'Eh' | Supply voltage is below or exceeding recommended levels. | Ensure power supply meets recommendations (see page 17). Adjust power supply accordingly before turning cooktop on. |
'Eu' | Communication error. | Reinsert connection between display and power boards, or replace power board. |
Note: Fault codes appear for abnormalities. The cooktop enters a protective state. Do not ignore these codes.
