Amazon Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) Rate Card - Europe Fees
Effective as of 1st February 2025
Introduction
This rate card details the fees associated with Amazon's Fulfilment by Amazon (FBA) and Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) services for sellers operating in Europe. It outlines the various fees, including fulfilment, storage, optional services, and referral fees, applicable to different product sizes, weights, and shipping scenarios across multiple European countries.
Calculating Your FBA Fees
Total FBA fees are calculated by summing the fulfilment fee, storage fee, and any applicable optional service fees. The fulfilment fee is determined by the destination country, ship speed, and size band of the units shipped. Unit weight or dimensional weight is used to calculate this fee.
- 1. Fulfilment Fee: A flat fee per unit based on dimensions and unit weight. Envelopes and special oversize products are charged based on actual unit weight. Parcels and oversize products are charged based on the greater of unit weight or dimensional weight.
- 2. Storage Fee: Charged per cubic metre or cubic foot per month. This includes monthly storage fees and potential surcharges for aged inventory and storage utilization.
- 3. Optional Services Fee: Includes services such as local returns, cross-border returns, disposal, labelling, bagging, bubble wrap, taping, and opaque bagging, charged per unit.
- 4. Referral Fee: A fee charged by Amazon for each item sold, varying by product category. Most referral fees range from 8% to 15% of the offer price.
Amazon provides a revenue calculator to help sellers estimate their earnings based on different fulfilment channels and sales volumes.
Fulfilment Fees by Program
Amazon offers various fulfilment programs, each with specific fee structures:
- Low-Price Fulfilment by Amazon: For fast-moving, small, light-weight products priced at or below a certain threshold (£10 in the UK, €11-€14 in other EU countries). Offers lower fulfilment fees compared to standard FBA for comparable products shipped locally.
- Standard Fulfilment by Amazon: Covers domestic FBA, Multi-Country Inventory (MCI), and Pan-European (Pan-EU) fulfilment. Fees vary based on size tier, weight, and destination country.
- European Fulfilment Network (EFN): Allows sellers to store inventory in local fulfilment centres and fulfil orders from other EU stores. Remote Fulfilment with FBA (formerly EFN between UK and EU) enables cross-border selling without needing inventory in destination countries.
- Ships in Product Packaging (SIPP) Discount: Offers reduced FBA fulfilment fees for products shipped in their original packaging without additional Amazon packaging.
Storage Fees
- Monthly Storage Fees: Charged for all units stored in an Amazon fulfilment centre, based on location, calendar month, and average daily inventory volume. Fees vary by product size and time of year.
- Storage Utilization Surcharge: Applies to professional sellers with a storage utilization ratio above a certain threshold (e.g., 22 weeks). This is based on the ratio of average daily inventory volume stored to average daily shipped volume over the past 13 weeks.
- FBA Aged Inventory Surcharge: Applies to inventory stored for more than 241 days, to encourage efficient inventory management.
Optional Service Fees
- FBA Return-to-Seller, Disposal and Liquidation: Fees for returning items to the seller, disposing of them, or liquidating them. A referral fee also applies to liquidations.
- FBA Prep Services: Fees for Amazon to prepare and package shipments for fulfilment centres, including services like labelling, bagging, bubble wrap, and taping.
- High-Return-Rate Return Processing Fees: Introduced for products with high return rates to cover operational costs and reduce waste. This fee applies to products exceeding a category-specific return rate threshold.
Referral Fees
Referral fees are charged for each item sold on Amazon and vary by product category. The fee is calculated based on the offer price. Minimum referral fees and closing fees for media items also apply.
Multi-Channel Fulfilment (MCF) Fees
MCF fees are structured similarly to FBA fees, covering fulfilment, storage, and optional services for orders sold off Amazon. Fees are calculated based on the number of units per order (UPO), size tier, weight, and destination country.
- Standard Shipping, Local Shipments: Fees for fulfilling orders within the same country.
- Expedited Shipping, Local Shipments: Higher fees for faster domestic delivery.
- Standard Shipping, Cross-border Shipments (EFN): Fees for fulfilling orders to other European countries via EFN.
- Expedited Shipping, Cross-border Shipments (EFN): Higher fees for expedited cross-border delivery.
