Rear Panel of OC200
Kensington Security Slot: For anti-theft security locks.
Micro USB: Connects to a 5VDC, 1A minimum USB power source.
3. Installation
Desktop Installation
- Place the device on a flat surface.
- Attach the supplied rubber feet to the bottom corners of the device.
Rack Installation (OC300 only)
- Ensure the rack is grounded and stable.
- Secure the supplied rack-mounting brackets to the sides of the device using screws.
- Use suitable screws to secure the brackets to the rack.
Connection Methods
For OC200 via Standard PoE Device: Connect an Ethernet cable from the ETH1 (PoE IN) port to a standard 802.3af/at PoE device (e.g., TP-Link PoE switch). Ensure the power supply meets IEC 62368-1 requirements.
For OC200 via USB Power Source: Connect a USB cable from the micro USB port to a 5VDC, 1A minimum USB power source.
For OC300: Connect the provided power cord to the power socket and a power outlet.
Grounding: The device has lightning protection. Grounding can also be achieved via the AC cord's PE cable or a separate ground cable.
Security: Use a Kensington lock (not provided) in the security slot to prevent theft.
4. Power On
The Cloud LED will flash three times upon successful initialization.
5. Typical Network Topology
A DHCP server is required to assign IP addresses to the EAPs and the Omada Hardware Controller in the local network. The topology typically involves a router, a PoE switch, and various Omada access points managed by the controller.
6. Software Configurations
The Omada Hardware Controller supports two management options: Remote Management and Local Management.
Remote Management
Via Omada App: Download the Omada app, log in with your TP-Link ID, and add the controller via Cloud Access. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Via Web Browser: Access https://omada.tplinkcloud.com, log in with your TP-Link ID, add the controller, and complete the configuration wizard.
Local Management
Via Omada App: Download the Omada app, ensure your mobile device and controller are on the same subnet, and add the controller via Local Access. Follow the on-screen instructions.
Via Web Browser: Ensure your management device and controller are on the same subnet. Find the controller's IP address (default fallback is 192.168.0.253) and access it via a web browser. Complete the configuration wizard.
