Tefal LOV Cookware
Cook to your true nature
Welcome and Introduction
Thank you for your purchase. We hope this product meets your daily needs. Please read the following recommendations and advice for correct use, cleaning, and maintenance.
1 - First Use
Before using the product for the first time, wash it with dish detergent, rinse, and dry carefully.
If the cookware has packaging dust upon unpacking, we recommend immersing it in hot water and drying it with a towel.
2 - Cleaning the Casserole
Before cleaning the casserole, let it cool for a few minutes. Temperature changes affect the casserole.
Recommendations for Hand Washing
Clean the entire pot with hot water, mild dish detergent, and a soft sponge. Avoid cleaning products or abrasive/harsh detergents.
Cleaning Tip: For burnt-on food at the bottom of the pot, cover the burnt area with hot water and dish soap or baking soda, and let it soak for a few minutes.
Please note that the casserole is not dishwasher safe.
After cleaning, we recommend drying it with a towel to prevent oxidation.
How to Prevent Rust on Cast Iron Cookware
Rust can appear on cast iron cookware due to prolonged contact of water with the edges of the lid and body. Therefore, we recommend drying the casserole and lid with a towel after washing.
For this reason, the casserole cannot be stored in the refrigerator. It should be stored in a dry place.
Cleaning Tip: To remove rust, the best solution is to rub the rusted area with a scouring pad and then apply a few drops of vegetable oil and let it dry. This will prevent rust from reappearing.
3 - Cooking with Cast Iron Cookware
The Cookware is Compatible with All Types of Stoves, Including Induction
The product is suitable for induction and compatible with all stoves: gas, electric, ceramic, and induction.
When using an induction hob, heat the cookware at low power and gradually increase it. The induction boost mode can permanently damage the item (risk of thermal shock).
To avoid scratches on the hob (electric, ceramic, and induction), lift the cookware before moving it.
For maximum energy efficiency, stability, and to prevent the exterior coating from burning, place it in the center of a hob with an appropriate diameter (using a trivet if necessary).
Caution: Cast iron is not safe for microwave use.
The Product is Oven Safe
The pot and lid are oven safe up to 250 °C / 482 °F.
Precautions: Handles Can Get Hot
The cast iron handles can get hot during use. For added safety, it is highly recommended to use oven mitts when cooking.
Healthy Cooking with Cast Iron Products
Thanks to the high-quality enamel coating, it is not always necessary to add fat or oil during cooking, which promotes healthier cooking, especially for slow-cooked meals.
A method that produces deliciously tender roasts is to add water frequently when cooking without the lid on the stove.
Perfect Stewing or Waterless Cooking with Condensation Lid
Our condensation lid distributes moisture throughout the cooking surface, helping to maintain maximum tenderness for perfectly cooked stews. With this lid on, vegetables can also be cooked slowly with just a tablespoon of water. This waterless cooking method will gently cook ingredients thanks to the natural steam emitted by the vegetables.
Perfect for Stewing on a Gas Stove
For perfect stews on a gas stove, start cooking over medium heat on the main hob, then move the pot to a smaller hob to simmer for a long time at moderate temperatures. However, if you need to cook on high heat, gradually increase to the maximum heat level and then reduce it.
4 - Product Care
If the lid knob becomes loose, tighten it carefully by hand or with the appropriate screwdriver.
To Preserve Enamel Coating Properties:
Overheating the cookware can damage the interior coating or deform the base. Avoid overheating the cookware, especially when empty. Be careful when using the maximum heating position or the boost function.
For products with a light-colored enamel interior, the interior may darken over time and with the use of certain ingredients.
Never heat fat or oil to the point where it burns and turns black.
Metal utensils are safe - with the exception of knives, forks, and whisks. However, we recommend using wooden, plastic, or silicone utensils to avoid scratches. In general, the use of utensils with sharp edges is not recommended for this product.
5 - This Cast Iron Product is Recyclable
Contains valuable materials that can be recovered or recycled. After years of satisfactory use, dispose of the product at your local household waste recycling center.
6 - Warranty
This product has a 20-year warranty against manufacturing defects, unless specific legislation or agreements in the country of purchase are in effect.
The warranty applies to normal domestic use. It does not cover damage due to misuse, overheating, prolonged exposure to flame or dry boiling, impacts, drops, dishwasher use, or professional use. It does not cover stains, rust, discoloration, or scratches on your cookware (inside or out).
