PROJOY ELECTRIC Safety Information for Fire Protection Devices
(In accordance with EU Regulation 2023/988 – GPSR)
1. Safe installation rules
- Installation must be carried out only by certified electricians.
- Before installation, disconnect all power sources (both AC and DC).
- Install the devices as close as possible to the energy source (e.g., PV panels) to ensure effective operation.
- Provide adequate protection against weather conditions – use enclosures with an appropriate IP rating (minimum IP65 for outdoor applications).
- Follow the manufacturer's instructions regarding polarity and the sequence of cable connections.
2. Safe operation rules
- Regularly check the condition of the enclosure, seals, and connectors (especially in outdoor installations).
- Perform an inspection of the PV installation and a disconnection function test at least once a year.
- After a fire, lightning strike, or short circuit – the device must be inspected and replaced if necessary.
- Do not modify or bypass the switches – this may result in loss of fire protection.
3. Personal protective equipment
During installation and servicing of PROJOY devices, the following PPE must be used:
- Insulating gloves
- Protective goggles
- Dielectric footwear
- Insulated tools compliant with IEC 60900
4. Possible hazards in case of misuse
- Electric shock from direct current (DC) – particularly dangerous in PV installations, even at relatively low voltage.
- Fire risk in the event of failure to disconnect circuits during a fault.
- Damage to PV modules and inverters due to incorrect polarity connection.
- Hazard to firefighting crews – lack of rapid shutdown functionality may hinder extinguishing PV installations.
5. User responsibilities
- Read the PROJOY technical manual before installation.
- Report any malfunctions to qualified service personnel.
- Regularly test safety systems in accordance with the manufacturer's recommendations.
- Use the devices exclusively for their intended purpose – in PV installations or systems requiring fire protection disconnection.
These safety instructions have been prepared in accordance with the requirements of EU Regulation 2023/988 on general product safety (GPSR), to ensure a high level of protection for the health and safety of users and other persons who may be exposed to risks related to the use of the device.
