Software Installation Instructions
Step 1: Disable Antivirus and Firewall
To ensure a smooth installation, it is necessary to temporarily disable your computer's antivirus software and firewall. This prevents them from mistakenly identifying the software as a threat or blocking the installation process.

Step 2: Open Windows Security Center
Navigate to the Windows Security Center to manage your system's protection settings.

Step 3: Download or Copy Software
Obtain the VCDS software. This can be done by downloading it from a provided link or copying it from a CD/DVD to your desktop. The software package typically includes:
- English installation video (mp4)
- VCDS installing guide (DOCX)
- VCDSLoader (Application)
- VCDS-Release-24.7.0-Installer (Application)
Step 4: Configure Security Settings
Access the Windows Security Center again. Within the 'Virus & threat protection' settings, locate and manage exclusions.

Step 5: Add VCDS Folder to Exclusions
In the Exclusions section, add the VCDS installation folder (typically C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS) to the list of items that Microsoft Defender Antivirus will not scan. This is crucial to prevent interference with the software's operation.

Step 6: Windows 11 Specifics
If you are using Windows 11, ensure that the 'Memory integrity' test within 'Core isolation' settings is turned off. Failure to do so may prevent the driver from being installed correctly.

Step 7: Run the Installer
Locate and open the VCDS installer file (e.g., VCDS-Release-24.7.0-Installer.exe). During the installation process, select all desired components. If a component cannot be selected, it indicates your system meets the requirements for it. After the installation is complete, uncheck the option to 'Run VCDS Release 24.7.0' and click 'Finish'.

Step 8: Copy VCDSloader
Copy the VCDSloader.exe file (or VCDSloaderX2.exe if applicable for your language version) from the downloaded VCDS folder to the root directory of your computer, typically C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS.

Step 9: Add VCDSloader to Exclusions
Return to the Windows Security Center's Exclusions settings. Add the VCDSloader.exe file (located in C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS) to the exclusion list to prevent it from being scanned.

Step 10: Create Desktop Shortcut
Navigate to the C:\Ross-Tech\VCDS folder. Create a shortcut for the VCDSloader.exe file and place this shortcut on your desktop. It is recommended to delete any pre-existing shortcuts named 'VCDS Release 24.7'. Launch the VCDS software by double-clicking the newly created 'VCDSLoader - Shortcut' on your desktop.
