Installation Instructions
Step 1: Remove the driver side upper dash
Remove the driver side upper dash by removing (7) T-30 screws and (3) push darts. One push dart is located under the dash in front of the key fob. Tilting the steering column all the way down can assist with this process.
[Illustration: Figures 1 and 2 show the locations of screws and push darts on the vehicle's upper dash panel that need to be removed.]
Step 2: Unclip front harness clips and remove module
When removing the front dash, it is recommended to unclip the front harness clips and remove the front electronic suspension module, if equipped.
[Illustration: Figure 3 depicts unclipping front harness connectors and the removal of the electronic suspension module.]
Step 3: Locate and unplug the brake switch connector
Locate the brake switch connector. The female end is typically stuck to the frame. Unplug the male connector. There is a tab on the front side of the connector that may not be visible. Press this tab to release and remove the connector.
[Illustration: Figure 4 shows the brake switch connector's location, and Figure 5 demonstrates pressing the release tab to disconnect it.]
Step 4: Install the supplied harness
Connect the supplied harness into the OEM brake switch harness.
[Illustration: Figure 6 shows the new harness being plugged into the existing OEM brake switch harness.]
Step 5: Install the momentary launch switch
Identify the desired location for the momentary launch switch. Push out the blank panel at that location. Route the harness through the empty port. Connect the switch to the harness, and then push the switch into the dash until it is fully seated.
[Illustration: Figures 7 through 10 show the process of removing a dash blank, routing the harness, and installing the launch switch into the dashboard.]
Step 6: Mount the bracket and install the push button
Install the push button through the mounting bracket. Tighten the lock washer and nut. Ensure the teeth on the lock washer are pointing towards the push button during installation. Mount the bracket on either the left or right side of the steering wheel. For OEM steering wheels, drill pilot holes and secure the bracket with the supplied hardware. For EVP steering wheels, remove the (6) screws from the wheel and install the bracket behind the wheel.
[Illustration: Figures 11, 12, and 13 illustrate the push button assembly, the correct orientation of the lock washer, and the mounting of the bracket to the steering wheel area.]
Step 7: Secure the harness and test movement
Use the small zip tie to secure the harness to the mounting plate. Excess coil can also be zip-tied to the steering column. Turn the steering wheel through its full range of motion to ensure there are no obstructions.
Optional: The button can be fastened using the standard hex nut or the supplied EVP beauty nut.
