Frontier eero Mobile App Guide
This guide provides instructions for setting up and managing your eero Wi-Fi network using the eero mobile app.

The eero mobile app simplifies the process of setting up your Wi-Fi network. Download the app, connect your eero device to your modem, and the app will guide you through the entire setup. This document covers basic features for setting up and managing your eero network.
Create an account
Upon first opening the eero mobile app, you will be prompted to create an account through a guided setup process.
To get started, ensure you have:
- A mobile device with a data connection. (Refer to workaround instructions if no data connection is available.)
- The eero mobile app installed.
- At least one eero gateway device (eero Beacons can only be added to an existing network).
- Internet service provided to your home.
- A cable or DSL modem.
Steps to create an account:
- Open the eero mobile app and tap the 'New to eero?' button.
- Log in with your Amazon account or create a new account using your email or phone number.
- If creating a new account, enter the verification code sent via SMS or email.
Network setup
Your gateway is the primary eero device connected to your modem and is essential for establishing your network. The eero mobile app will guide you through setting up your eero gateway.
Setup steps:
- Tap 'Start Setup'.
- Confirm you have the listed items and tap 'Start'.
- Disconnect your old modem and router from power, then tap the blue arrow.
- Connect your eero gateway to your router using the provided Ethernet cable and tap the blue arrow.
- Plug your eero gateway into power, then reconnect your modem to power, and tap the blue arrow.
- Once your eero gateway is recognized, choose a location for your device.
- Create a name and password for your Wi-Fi network, then tap the blue arrow.
- Once you receive confirmation of a successful setup, tap the blue arrow.
- If you are done setting up your network, tap 'Finish Setup', or select 'Add Another eero Device' to add more devices.
Add a device
You can add additional eero 6 series devices and eero Beacons to extend your network. eero 6 series devices can join your network wirelessly or via an Ethernet connection.
Steps to add a device:
- From the 'Home' tab, tap the ➕ icon in the top right.
- Tap 'Add or Replace an eero Device'.
- Tap 'Add eero Device'.
- Plug in your new eero device and tap 'Next'.
- Once your new eero device is recognized, choose a location for your device.
- The device is now added. Tap 'Finish Setup', or select 'Add Another eero Device' to add additional devices.
Remove a device
eero devices can be removed from the network in a few simple steps.
Steps to remove a device:
- From the 'Home' tab, tap the device you wish to remove.
- Select 'Advanced'.
- Tap 'Remove' to remove your eero device.
- Tap 'Remove from network' at the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm removal by tapping 'Remove'.
Profiles
Create profiles to set custom schedules, control internet access, and apply content filters by profile. You can create a profile from the 'Home' tab in the eero mobile app.
Steps to create a profile:
- Tap the ➕ icon in the top right.
- Select 'Add a Profile' from the pop-up menu.
- Add a profile name.
- Select which devices to add to the profile.
- Tap 'Done'.
Guest network
eero allows you to use a guest network to share your home Wi-Fi with others. Note: You can disable the guest network at any time by following the steps below and toggling 'Enable' to 'Off'. Any devices connected to the guest network will lose connectivity.
Steps to enable guest network:
- Tap on the 'Settings' tab.
- From the menu, select 'Guest Access'.
- To enable your guest network, toggle 'Guest Access' to 'On'.
Pausing wifi devices
Pause your Wi-Fi network by setting schedules for specific profiles or devices.
Steps to set a schedule:
- From the 'Home' tab, tap the profile or device for which you want to set a schedule.
- Select 'Add a Scheduled Pause'.
- Update the schedule name, start time, end time, and frequency for the scheduled pause, then tap 'Save'.
Data Usage
View data usage on your Wi-Fi network, including by device or profile.
Steps to view data usage:
- From the 'Activity' tab, tap 'Downloaded Data' to view the overall Wi-Fi data usage.
- Tap 'Show Live Usage' to view current Wi-Fi data usage.
- Tap the ⬅️ icon in the upper left corner to go back.
Speed test
The speed test analyzes your upload and download speeds from your gateway eero.
Steps to run a speed test:
- From the 'Activity' tab, tap a tile in the 'Internet' section.
- Tap 'Run Speed Test'.
Update password
Easily change your Wi-Fi network password as needed.
Steps to update password:
- From the 'Settings' tab, select 'Wifi password'.
- Tap 'Edit password' to change your password.
- Enter your new password, and tap 'Save'.
Software update
Help ensure your Wi-Fi network is always up to date. If a software upgrade is available, follow these instructions to start the upgrade process.
Steps to update software:
- From the 'Settings' tab, select 'Software updates'.
- Tap 'Install Now'.
- Tap 'Yes, update now' to update your system.
Notifications
Manage which notifications you receive in the eero mobile app.
Steps to customize notifications:
- From the 'Settings' tab, select 'Notifications'.
- Customize notifications to your liking.
