Installation of Carpet Feet
Optional use: Attach the carpet feet if placing the scale on a carpeted surface.
Step 1: Attach the feet to the underside of the scale.
Step 2: Ensure the battery compartment is accessible.
Installation
Before Starting
You will need:
- A smartphone or tablet (iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or Android device).
- No computer is required for installation.
Installation using your smartphone/tablet only (Computer-free)
Follow the on-screen instructions within the Withings Health Mate app.
Setting Up the Scale
Step 1: Prepare the Scale
Pull the protective tab located underneath the scale. This activates the battery.
Note: The tab is usually a small plastic strip.
Step 2: Initiate Pairing
Press the pairing button on the underside of the scale for two seconds.
The scale is now ready to pair with your device.
Connecting to the Withings App
For iPhone, iPad, iPod touch:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth and ensure it is turned ON.
- Look for "Withings WS50" in the list of available devices and select it.
- Install and launch the Withings Health Mate app from the App Store.
- Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to complete the setup.
For Android Devices:
- Go to Settings > Bluetooth and ensure it is turned ON.
- Look for "Withings WS50" in the list of available devices and select it.
- Install and launch the Withings Health Mate app from the Google Play Store.
- Follow the on-screen instructions within the app to complete the setup.
Important Notice
⚠️ This product is not suitable for people wearing a pacemaker or any other internal medical device.
⚠️ The data provided by the Withings scale should be considered purely as reference and not as a medical opinion.
Care and Maintenance
Cleaning:
Use only a cloth dampened with water to clean your scale. The use of any detergents or cleaners may cause irreversible damage to the coating that protects the electrodes used to measure your body fat and heart rate.
Note: Avoid using cleaning agents to maintain the functionality of the electrodes.
Description of Parts
The Withings Smart Body Analyzer WS-50 includes the following components:
- A Screen: Displays weight and other measurements.
- B Electrodes: Used for body composition analysis (body fat, muscle mass, etc.).
- C Feet: Support the scale and ensure stability. Carpet feet are optional for use on soft surfaces.
- D Pairing Button: Used to initiate Bluetooth pairing with your device.
- E Unit Indicator: Shows the selected unit of measurement (kg, st, lb).
- F Battery Cover: Access point for the battery compartment.
