You can combine devices such as cameras, lighting, and sensors to personalize your system's scenes. The VeraEdge is compatible with over fifteen hundred devices.

- Wi-Fi Cameras (Indoor & Outdoor)
- Door/Window Sensors

Vera App ?
The Vera App provides comprehensive control over your entire VeraEdge system, managing devices individually or collectively. If a device has its own app, you can use the Vera app instead. The free Vera app is available for smartphones (iOS and Android), tablets, and web browsers on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, and Linux computers. You can seamlessly switch between using your computer at home and your smartphone when away. VeraEdge continuously monitors your home 24/7, regardless of whether the app is open.
[Diagram Description: A smartphone screen displays the Vera App interface. The dashboard shows a "Current status: Your installation is OK" message, indicating all devices are connected. Options like "My Modes", "My Shortcuts", "My Favorites", and "My Alerts" are visible.]
Key Features of Vera App
Modes
Modes are a powerful feature allowing you to control all your devices simultaneously. There are four primary modes: Home, Away, Night, and Vacation. You can customize the behavior of each mode.
Cards
The Current Status Card, located at the top of the Dashboard, provides a quick overview of your Vera system's status. For instance, it allows you to confirm that all windows are closed and the alarm system is "Armed" without needing to check each individual window sensor.
Users
Your Vera system supports multiple users. Every member of your family or every employee in your small business can have a unique username and password. The Vera app enables you to set specific permissions and notifications for each user.
[Diagram Description: A smartphone screen displays the "Users" section of the Vera App. It lists users with their roles: Tasia Tyler (Administrator), Lance (Administrator), Madeline (Notifications Only), and Jackie Jones (Notifications Only), and Gardener (Service).]
Notifications
Your Vera system can send text or email alerts to you and other designated users about virtually any event within the system. This includes door or window openings, motion detector triggers, someone unlocking a door, smoke detector activations, and much more.

Scenes & Geofencing
Scenes
Control any device based on another device's status. For example, turn on an outdoor light when a sensor detects motion. You can also set up alerts to receive a text message whenever a door is opened. Timer scenes utilize the controller's built-in clock to activate or deactivate devices like lights and lawn sprinklers. Additionally, you can use your phone's location for Geofencing.
Geofencing
Utilize your cell phone's location to automatically manage your system. As you approach home, your garage door can automatically open. When you leave, lights can turn off, doors can lock, and your thermostat can adjust to reduce energy consumption. Ensure you always carry your phone.
[Diagram Description: A tablet screen displays a map interface showing a route and location pins, illustrating geofencing. A smartphone screen is also shown with setup options for triggers, schedules, and locations.]

Range Extenders
If a device is not functioning correctly in its intended location, but works when moved closer to your VeraEdge controller, you may need to add a Z-Wave repeater or Wi-Fi range extender. Repeaters and extenders are designed to expand your network's coverage area by receiving, amplifying, and re-transmitting your existing signal.
When purchasing a repeater, ensure it matches the protocol of your out-of-range device, whether Z-Wave (common for security sensors, dimmers, switches, and some thermostats) or Wi-Fi (common for cameras and some thermostats).
[Diagram Description: A visual sequence shows a Vera Controller icon, a plus sign, a Repeater icon, an equals sign, and an icon representing extended wireless signal range. The text reads: "Vera Controller + Repeater = Extended Range".]
