Safety Warnings
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised by a person responsible for their safety.
- Children should be supervised to ensure they do not play with the appliance.
- There is a fire risk if cleaning is not carried out in accordance with the instructions.
- Ensure the cooker hood is switched off before carrying out maintenance to avoid electric shock.
- Grease filters must be removed every four weeks (maximum) for cleaning to reduce the risk of fire.
- Do not flambé under the cooker hood.
- This cooker hood is not recommended for barbecues.
- The air must not be discharged into a flue used for exhausting fumes from appliances burning gas or other fuels.
- Exhaust air must not be discharged into a wall cavity, unless the cavity is designed for the purpose.
- There must be adequate ventilation of the room when the cooker hood is used simultaneously with appliances burning gas or other fuels.
- Always cover lit gas burners with pots or pans when the cooker hood is in use.
- Always switch off gas burners before removing pots or pans.
- CAUTION: Accessible parts may become hot when used with cooking appliances.
- Regulations concerning the discharge of air must be fulfilled.
Cleaning
Every 2-3 months, wipe the cooker hood body with a sponge or soft cloth soaked in warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly and apply a stainless steel protector. Do not use oven cleaners or other abrasive materials.
Electrical Connection
- Check that the mains voltage matches the voltage on the data plate inside the cooker hood.
- Check that the installation complies with standards of local gas and electricity authorities.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or a similarly qualified person to avoid a hazard.
Accessories & Ducting
For best performance, use 125mm round exhaust ducting. When using flexible duct, install it with the wire helix pulled taut to minimize pressure loss. Try to keep the exhaust duct short and straight, minimizing bends. Do not reduce or restrict the exhaust duct size.
Ducting Accessories Diagram Description: This diagram illustrates various ducting components for the rangehood. It shows a roof cowl (AR125RC), a 1200mm length flue (AR125F), flashing (not supplied), a 90-degree bend (AR125B), a flue joiner (available as plain AR125FJ or with damper AR125FJD), and an alternative flue connection using a 1-meter flexible duct with joiners (AR125FD). A flue collar is supplied with the hood, connecting to a wall vent which includes 400mm of flue (AR125WV). Dimensions for GAS (650) and ELECTRIC (600) connections are indicated.
Installation - Stainless Steel Models
Before installing, remove all protective plastic covering from stainless steel surfaces. Use at least 4 screws (not provided) and the provided mounting holes to securely mount the cooker hood, ensuring it is level and free from twist. After installation, apply a stainless steel protector to the external surfaces.
Warning: Failure to install the screws or fixing device in accordance with these instructions may result in electrical hazards.
Dimensions and Fixing Diagram Description: This diagram displays the dimensions of the rangehood. Key measurements include 300mm, 160mm, 25mm, 30mm, 143mm, 105mm, 60mm, 100mm, and 79mm. It indicates top and rear exhaust outlets and an air recirculating outlet. Nominal widths are specified as 898mm for 90cm wide models and 598mm for 60cm wide models. Recommended fixing points are marked for both the top and rear of the unit. The maximum space allowed between the wall and the screw cap is 5mm.
Ducted Installation: To set up for ducted installation, select the required exhaust outlet, remove the corresponding hole plug, and snap-fit the flue exhaust collar.
Circulation Air Doors Diagram Description: Two diagrams illustrate the settings for circulation air doors. The first shows a single fan model with clearly marked EXHAUST and RECIRCULATE positions. The second diagram depicts a dual fan model, also showing EXHAUST and RECIRCULATE positions with lever adjustments.
IMPORTANT: Set circulating modes before installing the hole plugs.
Cooker Hood Operation
IMPORTANT: The Edison Screw lamps may have come loose during transportation. Ensure that lamps are tightened firmly into the socket before power is applied.
For best results, use a low speed for normal conditions and a high speed when odours are more concentrated. Turn the hood on a few minutes before you start cooking. It should be left on after cooking for about 15 minutes or until all odours have disappeared.
Slide Switch Controls
- Light Switch: Turns the light fitted in the hood ON and OFF.
- Extractor Fan Switch: Used to select fan speeds.
- Slide position I: Fan speed Low.
- Slide position II: Fan speed Medium.
- Slide position III: Fan speed High.
Press Button Switch Controls
- Light Switch: Depress light button to turn light ON. Press light button again to turn light OFF.
- Extractor Fan Switch (Interlocked Switching): Select a fan speed, then depress button to turn fan ON. Press button (①) to turn fan OFF.
Replacing Lamps
- Ensure the appliance is switched OFF before carrying out maintenance to avoid electric shock.
- Remove the grease filter to replace the lamp.
- Replace with a 5.5W E14 LED lamp. Only replacement lamps with a silicone seal should be used.
- Suitable Lamp for Replacement: E14 5.5W LED -> DBL-5.5-H-E14-35/102.
Maintenance
Clean grease filters every three to four weeks maximum, as greasy filters are a fire risk.
- Cleaning Method: Remove the grease filters, soak and agitate in hot soapy water. Rinse, drain, and shake well before replacing filters.
- Dishwasher Method: Alternatively, place the grease filters in the dishwasher. Select the most powerful washing program and highest temperature, at least 65°C. When washing the grease filter in the dishwasher, a slight discolouration of the filter can occur, but this does not have any impact on its performance.
- Do not use oven cleaners or other caustic materials.
Recirculating Accessory
An optional carbon filter (ARCFD) is available for recirculating mode only. The activated carbon filter is not washable and cannot be regenerated. It must be replaced approximately every 3 months of operation, or more frequently for particularly heavy usage. Replacement carbon filters are available from Electrolux spare parts.
