Optyma™ Plus and INVERTER: Field Pressure Change from AKS 32R to DST P110
Introduction
This document provides instructions for changing the field pressure sensor on Danfoss Optyma™ Plus and INVERTER units, specifically replacing the AKS 32R sensor with the DST P110 sensor.
Required Parts
The following spare parts are required for this procedure:
- 118U3721: AKS32 LP pressure sensor (1 to 12 bar)
- 118U3722: AKS32 HP pressure sensor (0 to 32 bar)
- 118U4021: DST P110 HP sensor
- 118U4025: DST P110 LP sensor
The document features a visual comparison of the older AKS 32R pressure sensor with the newer DST P110 sensor. The AKS 32R sensor, shown on the left with a black connector, is being replaced by the DST P110 sensor, shown on the right with a green connector.
Components & Tools Required
- Personal safety equipment (Hand gloves ? and safety glasses ?)
Procedure
⚠️ Work should be done by electric professionals only!
- Disconnect power supply and ensure the fan motor has stopped before removing the side and front panels. Turn the isolator switch anticlockwise before servicing.
- Remove the service panel screw and open the front panel and service panel.
- Rotate the Rotalock (receiver) valve spindle clockwise to close the valve. Pump down and remove refrigerant from the system before servicing the pressure sensor. Ensure the liquid and suction lines remain open.
- Remove the tie cable and wire from the electrical box. Hold the connection pipe (Schrader valve) and rotate the sensor anticlockwise to remove. Avoid damaging the connection pipe and thread.
- Install the new spare part in the condensing unit. Torque specification is 15Nm.
- 075G1036 (118U4021): Install in the compressor discharge line.
- 075G1013 (118U4025): Install in the condensing unit suction line.
- After assembling the pressure sensor, connect the cable from the P110 sensor to the Optyma controller as shown in the wiring diagram. Use the provided cables that come with the spare part (refer to Annex -A for wiring drawing).
- Complete the electrical connections and ensure there are no leaks and all electrical connections are proper.
- Evacuate the entire unit. Danfoss recommends filling with fresh refrigerant and closing the service and front panels.
