Kuat Trio Bike Rack

The Kuat Trio is a versatile bike rack designed for secure and convenient bicycle transportation. This document provides installation instructions, usage guidelines, and warranty information.

Mounting Range and Specifications

The Kuat Trio is compatible with various cross bar types and sizes:

• Maximum Cross Bar Thickness: 43mm or 1.7"
• Maximum Cross Bar Width: 90mm or 3.5"
• Mounting Types: Round, Square, Oval, Aero
• Roof Bar Mounting Range: 500mm to 1275mm (19-5/8" to 50-3/16")
• The rack can mount to vehicle cross bars as thin as 15mm or 0.6".

Installation Instructions

Front Vehicle Rack Mounting

Refer to the diagrams for specific front vehicle rack mounting procedures.

Rear Vehicle Rack Mounting

Refer to the diagrams for specific rear vehicle rack mounting procedures.

Front Cross Bar Install

Hand thread all security barrel nuts before using the 5-sided security wrench. Alternate tightening of each barrel nut until tight. Warning: Excessive overtightening may dent the vehicle cross bar.

Rear Cross Bar Install

Slide rear strap bolts into the "T" slot on the bottom of the rack. Place the cross bar strap over the strap bolts and thread on the knobs by hand. Tighten firmly.

Skewer/Axle Install

20mm & 15mm Axle Mount: Use the skewer tube wrench to remove the 9mm skewer. Turn left to loosen. Once loose, pull out the 9mm skewer and insert the 20mm or 15mm axle to the noted insert line. Turn the skewer tube wrench to the right and tighten firmly.

The 9mm skewer can be installed from either side of the vehicle.

Rear Strap Install & Use

Adjust the strap cradle to be centered under the rear tire. Both sides of the bike strap can be adjusted to prevent contact with the vehicle roof. Slide the strap through the rear sliding cradle on the rack. The strap can be inserted from either side.

Bike Fork Mounting

9mm Bike Fork Mounting

1. Open Lever
2. Seat Fork
3. Adjust Knob to allow lever to firmly clamp fork.
4. Close Lever

15mm Bike Fork Mounting

1. Insert 15mm Skewer Tube
2. Seat Fork
3. Insert Axle from Bike
4. Tighten Axle

20mm Bike Fork Mounting

1. Insert 20mm Skewer Tube
2. Seat Fork
3. Insert Axle from Bike
4. Tighten Axle

For some 20mm forks with double levers, you may only be able to open the lever on the notch side part way. Adjust as necessary.

Bike Cable Lock

1. Step 1: Pull lock housing from end cap to release cable from magnetic stop.
2. Step 2: Slide cable out from lock housing.
3. Step 3: Loop cable through rear tire and rear triangle of bike frame. Insert cable tip into lock housing to lock. You do not need the supplied key to lock, but will need the key to unlock.

Fat tire skewer adapters are also available from Kuat or your local dealer. (9mm x 135mm FAT BIKE SKEWER)

Kuat Limited Lifetime Warranty

Warnings

• Periodically check the tightness of all bolts and screws.
• This rack is designed to carry 1 bike weighing no more than 45 pounds (20 kg) each.
• DO NOT USE OFF-ROAD.
• Follow instructions for proper assembly, mounting, and loading procedures.
• Ensure your vehicle's roof bars and the rack are in good working condition before each use.
• Do not use rain or wind covers or tarps with this product.
• Do not take the vehicle through an automatic car wash with the rack installed.

Note: Personal garages and general parking garages have claimed many bikes, so always be aware of low underpasses while transporting your bike.

Warranty Terms

Kuat Innovations offers a limited lifetime warranty against defects in material and/or craftsmanship. The following conditions apply:

• Warranty applies only to the original owner.
• Warranty does not cover wear and tear, accidental damage, or misuse.
• Repair and/or replacement of any part is at the discretion of Kuat Innovations.
• All repairs must be made by or under the direction of a Kuat technician.
• All claims must be shipped to Kuat prepaid.

Kuat honors the warranty as long as the original purchaser owns the rack. If the product is sold or transferred, the warranty is terminated.

Kuat may offer a refund of the purchase price instead of repair or replacement in some cases.

The Kuat warranty does not cover conditions beyond Kuat's control, including excessive loading, improper assembly, improper mounting, theft, or any use inconsistent with the product instructions.

The Kuat Warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, scratches, cosmetic oxidation, accidents, illegal vehicle operation, or unauthorized repairs or modifications.

For warranty claims or issues, contact Kuat Innovations directly at 1(877)822-KUAT (5828) or email: info@kuatracks.com. Owners are responsible for the cost of returning the product to Kuat for repair. No product should be returned without prior authorization.

Limit of Liability

This warranty only covers repair, replacement, or refund for the covered Kuat product. Any damage to a vehicle or property, or injury, is not covered by this warranty. Limitations or exclusions of incidental damage may not apply in all states.

Kuat Innovations offre une garantie à vie limitée qui certifie que nos racks sont sans défaut de matériel et/ou de fabrication. Les conditions suivantes s'appliquent:

• La garantie s'applique seulement au propriétaire original.
• La garantie ne couvre pas l'usage excessif, les dommages causés par un accident ou des abus.
• Les réparations et remplacements de tous les morceaux sont à la discrétion de Kuat Innovations.
• Toutes les réparations faites sur la structure principale doivent se faire par un technicien désigné par Kuat.
• Toutes les réclamations doivent être expédiées par colis pré-affranchi.

Kuat honore la garantie de toute sa gamme du support de la marque Kuat tant qu'il demeure la propriété du propriétaire original. La garantie prend fin lorsque le propriétaire original se départit du produit en le vendant ou en le transférant à une autre personne.

Si un article Kuat fait défaut alors qu'il est sous garantie, Kuat réparera ou remplacera, à sa discrétion, la ou les pièces défectueuses. Kuat pourrait choisir dans certains cas d'offrir un remboursement du prix à l'achat au lieu de réparer ou de remplacer la pièce défectueuse.

Kuat respeta la garantía de todos los portabicicletas Kuat mientras el comprador original sea el propietario de dicho producto. Si el comprador original vende o de alguna otra manera cede el producto a otra persona, la garantía será revocada.

Si un portabicicletas Kuat que esté cubierto por los términos de esta garantía está defectuoso, Kuat reparará o remplazará las partes defectuosas a su propio criterio. Kuat puede optar en algunos casos por ofrecer el reembolso del precio de compra del producto en lugar de repararlo o de reemplazar las piezas defectuosas.

La garantía Kuat no cubre ninguna condición que esté más allá del control de Kuat. Ningún producto deberá ser enviado a Kuat sin previa autorización de un agente de Kuat.
