Retirez tous les éléments de l'emballage et retirez les rubans adhésifs empêchant le fonctionnement de l'appareil avant utilisation. Assemblez entièrement l'appareil avant de l'utiliser. Les connexions électriques doivent être faites selon les normes en vigueur et par un électricien qualifié. Avant tout raccord électrique et afin d'éviter tout risque d'électrocution, coupez toute alimentation et remettez en service uniquement lorsque l'installation sera entièrement terminée. Branchez l'appareil dans une prise secteur fournissant un courant dont les spécifications (tension, fréquence...) sont identiques à celles indiquées sur la plaque signalétique de l'appareil. Vérifiez que le voltage de votre installation électrique correspond bien à celui de l'appareil avant de le brancher. Cet appareil n'est pas prevu pour etre utilise par des personnes (y compris les enfants) dont les capacites physiques, sensorielles ou mentales sont reduites, ou des personnes denuees d'experience ou de connaissance, sauf si elles ont pu beneficier, par l'intermediaire d'une personne responsable de leur securite, d'une surveillance ou d'instructions prealables concernant l'utilisation de l'appareil. Les enfants ne doivent pas jouer avec l'appareil. Le nettoyage et l'entretien par l'usager ne doivent pas etre effectues par 3 des enfants sans surveillance. Ne laissez jamais d'enfant à proximité de l'appareil sans surveillance ni des personnes handicapées. Ne laissez pas les enfants jouer avec les sachets en polyéthylène ou le film d'emballage, risque d'étouffement. Ne laissez jamais d'enfants en bas âge, des personnes âgées ou malades dans le courant d'air de l'appareil. Conservez l'appareil dans un endroit frais et sec, hors de la portée des enfants, personnes âgées et handicapés. Pour des raisons de sécurité, ne laissez jamais l'appareil sans surveillance pendant qu'il fonctionne. Si le câble d'alimentation est endommagé, il doit être remplacé par le fabricant, son service après-vente ou des personnes de qualification similaire afin d'éviter un danger. Ne déplacez ou débranchez jamais l'appareil en tirant sur le cordon d'alimentation. Éteignez et débranchez l'appareil avant de le déplacer. N'utilisez jamais l'appareil sans ses grilles de protection. Une fois l'appareil assemblé, il est strictement interdit de démonter les grilles de protection. N'introduisez jamais vos mains et/ou objets dans les grilles de protection. Évitez tout contact avec les pièces mobiles. N'utilisez pas d'eau ni de détergent pour le nettoyage de l'appareil. Un chiffon sec sera préférable. Avant tout nettoyage, veillez à couper l'alimentation électrique. 4 Cet appareil est prévu pour être utilisé dans un endroit avec une bonne circulation d'air, évitez de l'utiliser dans une pièce fermée sans circulation d'air. Cet appareil n'est utilisable qu'à l'intérieur d'un local abrité. N'utilisez jamais cet appareil dans un lieu humide, près d'une douche, d'une piscine, d'une baignoire, etc... N'immergez jamais l'appareil ou le cordon d'alimentation dans de l'eau ou tout autre liquide. N'exposez jamais l'appareil aux projections d'eau et aux éclaboussures. Cet appareil n'est pas prévu pour être utilisé dans des granges, étables ou tous locaux analogues. Ne placez jamais l'appareil vers une source de chaleur. L'appareil ne doit pas être utilisé dans des emplacements où la présence de vapeurs inflammables ou de poussières explosives est probable. Inspectez rigoureusement l'appareil et ne l'utilisez pas s'il est endommagé ou si vous voyez une quelconque détérioration. N'utilisez pas cet appareil s'il présente un dysfonctionnement ou si son cordon d'alimentation ou sa fiche est endommagé. N'utilisez pas cet appareil si ses pales, ses grilles de protection, son cordon d'alimentation ou sa fiche sont endommagés, si le ventilateur ne fonctionne pas correctement, s'il est tombé ou a été endommagé d'une autre manière. Contactez dans ce cas un centre de réparation agréé pour faire réviser et réparer l'appareil. 5 En cas de bruit, d'odeur ou de fumée anormales, arrêtez immédiatement l'appareil et faites appel à un réparateur agréé. Si vous prévoyez de ne pas utiliser votre appareil pendant un certain temps, éteignez-le et débranchez sa prise du secteur. Lorsque le réservoir contient de l'eau, ne déplacez pas l'appareil afin d'éviter les éclaboussures ou écoulement d'eau. Le niveau d'eau ne doit jamais dépasser le niveau maximum. Sachez que des niveaux d'humidité élevés peuvent favoriser la croissance d'organismes biologiques dans l'environnement. Ne laissez pas la zone autour de l'humidificateur devenir humide ou mouillée. En cas d'humidité, baissez la puissance de l'humidificateur. Si le volume de sortie de l'humidificateur ne peut pas être réduit, utilisez l'humidificateur par intermittence. Ne laissez pas les matériaux absorbants, tels que les tapis, les rideaux, les tentures ou les nappes, devenir humides. Ne laissez jamais d'eau dans le réservoir lorsque l'appareil n'est pas utilisé. Videz et nettoyez l'humidificateur avant de le ranger. Nettoyez l'humidificateur avant la prochaine utilisation. Débranchez l'appareil pendant le vidage du réservoir et le nettoyage. La plage de température de fonctionnement applicable pour cette unité est de 5 à 35 °C. 6 La carte mère (PCB) de l'unité est conçue avec un fusible pour fournir une protection contre les surintensités. Les caractéristiques du fusible sont imprimées sur la carte mère, comme : Type 524 ou 5 H / 250V / 3,15A... Transportez l'appareil dans son emballage d'origine. Utilisez uniquement les pièces de rechange FANELITE. AVERTISSEMENT concernant l'utilisation de réfrigérant R290 N'utilisez aucun moyen autre que ceux qui sont recommandés par le fabriquant pour accélérer le processus de dégivrage ou pour nettoyer l'appareil. L'appareil doit être stocké dans une pièce où il n'existe pas de source d'ignition fonctionnant en continu (par ex., des flammes nues, un appareil à gaz en fonctionnement ou un chauffage électrique en fonctionnement). Ne pas percer ou brûler. Attention : certains réfrigérants sont inodores. L'appareil doit être installé, utilisé et stocké dans une pièce dont la surface au sol est suffisante par rapport à la quantité de réfrigérant chargée dans le système. Pour des informations spécifiques sur le type de gaz et le volume, veuillez-vous reporter à la plaque signalétique disposée sur l'unité. L'appareil doit être installé, utilisé et stocké dans une pièce dont la surface au sol est supérieure à 4 m2. Toutes les réglementations nationales en matière de gaz doivent être observées. 7 Veillez à ce que les orifices de ventilation ne soient jamais obstrués. L'appareil doit être stocké de sorte à prévenir tout dommage mécanique. L'appareil doit être stocké dans un endroit bien ventilé et la taille de la pièce doit correspondre à la surface de la pièce spécifiée pour le fonctionnement. Toute personne qui travaille sur ou ouvre le circuit de refroidissement doit être en possession d'un certificat en vigueur décerné par une autorité d'évaluation agréée, attestant de son aptitude à manipuler les réfrigérants en toute sécurité conformément à une spécification d'évaluation reconnue. Les opérations de réparation ne doivent être effectuées que tel que cela est recommandé par le fabricant de l'équipement. Les opérations d'entretien et de réparation qui requièrent l'intervention d'autres personnes qualifiées doivent être effectuées sous la surveillance de la personne compétente pour l'utilisation des réfrigérants inflammables. L'appareil doit être stocké dans une pièce où il n'existe pas de flammes nues fonctionnant en continu (par ex., un appareil à gaz en fonctionnement) ni de sources d'ignition (par ex., un chauffage électrique en fonctionnement). Ce symbole indique que l'appareil utilise un réfrigérant inflammable. En cas de fuite et d'exposition à une source d'ignition externe, il existe un risque d'incendie. 8 Toute intervention sur l'appareil effectuée par une personne non qualifiée est interdite. 2. GARANTIE Rapprochez-vous de votre distributeur afin de connaître ses modalités de garantie. Tous les appareils FANELITE sont garantis contre tout défaut de pièces et de fabrication dans la mesure où ils fonctionnent dans des conditions normales d'utilisation. Nos appareils doivent être installés par des professionnels qualifiés, conformément à la réglementation en vigueur et aux instructions figurant dans cette notice d'utilisation et de montage. FANELITE se réserve le droit de ne pas appliquer la garantie en cas de négligence du client, d'installations défectueuses, mal adaptées ou non conformes aux normes en vigueur. UTILISATION ATTENTION : Avant d'utiliser votre appareil, lisez scrupuleusement les consignes de sécurité présentes dans cette notice. Panneau de contrôle Votre appareil est déjà assemblé et prêt à être utilisé. Branchez le cordon d'alimentation. À l'aide du panneau de contrôle : Marche/arrêt Appuyez sur le bouton POWER pour allumer ou éteindre l'appareil. L'indicateur correspondant s'allume lorsque l'appareil est en marche. Note : Lorsque le taux d'humidité atteint le réglage sélectionné, le compresseur s'arrête et l'indicateur clignote. Vitesse Appuyez sur le bouton SPEED pour sélectionner la vitesse du ventilateur (HI = élevé ; LOW = faible), l'indicateur correspondant s'allume. Minuteur Lorsque l'appareil est en fonctionnement, vous pouvez régler la minuterie afin que l'appareil s'éteigne automatiquement une fois le temps sélectionné atteint. Lorsque l'appareil est éteint, vous pouvez 11 régler la minuterie afin que l'appareil s'allume automatiquement une fois le temps sélectionné atteint. De 1h à 24h. Pour régler la minuterie, appuyez sur le bouton TIMER. L'afficheur digital affiche le temps sélectionné et l'indicateur correspondant s'allume. Réglage taux humidité Appuyez sur le bouton HUMIDITY SETTING pour sélectionner le taux d'humidité et les modes. De la déshumidification continue (mode CO) à l'humidité relative 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90%, mode confort (mode AU, voir ci-dessous), retour à la déshumidification continue (mode CO). Lorsque l'humidité ambiante est inférieure à l'humidité réglée de 3%, le compresseur s'arrête automatiquement. Le compresseur redémarre dès que l'humidité ambiante redevient supérieure de 3%. Mode confort (AU) : - Lorsque la température ambiante est inférieure à 5, le compresseur s'arrête. - Lorsque la température ambiante est supérieure à 5 et inférieure à 20, le produit règle automatiquement l'humidité à 60%. - Lorsque la température ambiante est supérieure à 20 et inférieure à 27, le produit règle automatiquement l'humidité à 55%. - Lorsque la température ambiante est supérieure à 27, le produit règle automatiquement l'humidité à 50%. Réservoir d'eau plein Lorsque le réservoir d'eau est plein, l'indicateur TANK FULL s'allume et l'appareil cesse de fonctionner jusqu'à ce que le réservoir d'eau soit vidé (référez-vous section VIDER LE RESERVOIR D'EAU). Dégivrage 12 Lorsque l'appareil est en train de dégivrer, l'indicateur DEFROST s'allume et le compresseur cesse de fonctionner mais le moteur continue à fonctionner. Instructions de vidange Lors de la déshumidification, l'eau peut être stockée dans le réservoir d'eau ou être évacuée en continu par un tube en PVC (non inclus). Drainage continu 1. Avant de vidanger l'eau en continu, veuillez retirer le réservoir d'eau et brancher un tube de vidange sur le trou de vidange. Remettez ensuite le réservoir d'eau. 2. Le tube de drainage doit être placé plus bas que le trou de drainage pour permettre à l'eau de s'écouler. Note Si vous prévoyez de ne pas utiliser votre appareil pendant un long moment, nous vous conseillons de le débrancher du secteur. 5. WIFI SMARTLIFE Votre appareil est compatible Wifi (application SMART LIFE). 1. Téléchargez et installez l'application "SmartLife" depuis l'Apple Store ou le Google Play Store sur votre appareil mobile. 2. Lancez l'application "SmartLife". 3. Créez un nouveau compte ou connectez-vous à votre compte existant. 4. Appuyez sur "+" pour ajouter l'appareil. 5. Sélectionnez le type de produit applicable dans la liste des produits. 6. Branchez l'appareil pour l'alimenter. 7. Pour entrer en mode configuration, tenez-appuyé le bouton HUMIDITY SETTING pendant environ 3 secondes. 13 8. Vous pouvez maintenant établir la connexion entre l'appareil et l'application. 9. Confirmez le réseau Wi-Fi et le mot de passe. 10. Modifiez si vous le souhaitez le nom de l'appareil. Notes - Lorsque l'indicateur WIFI clignote, cela signifie que l'appareil est en mode configuration Wifi. - Lorsque l'indicateur WIFI reste allumé, cela signifie que l'appareil est connecté avec succès à la Wifi. 6. VIDER LE RESERVOIR D'EAU Avant de vider le réservoir, coupez l'alimentation en débranchant la prise du secteur. Pour vider le réservoir : 1. Éteignez et débranchez l'appareil. 2. Retirez le réservoir d'eau puis versez l'eau. 3. Remettez le réservoir d'eau. 4. Appuyez sur le bouton POWER pour allumer l'appareil. 7. NETTOYAGE ET ENTRETIEN ATTENTION : Avant de nettoyer votre appareil, lisez scrupuleusement les consignes de sécurité présentes dans cette notice. Nous vous recommandons de maintenir votre appareil propre et de le nettoyer au minimum une fois par mois. Il est recommandé de vérifier périodiquement l'état du cordon d'alimentation. Son remplacement requiert le cas échéant l'emploi d'un outil spécial : s'adresser à un centre après-vente agréé même pour les réparations éventuelles. En cas de longues périodes d'inutilisation, rangez l'appareil à l'abri de la poussière et de l'humidité ; nous recommandons d'utiliser son emballage d'origine. 14 Avant tout nettoyage, coupez l'alimentation en débranchant la prise du secteur. Pour enlever la poussière à l'intérieur et sur les grilles, utilisez un aspirateur avec embout adapté. Ne désassemblez pas votre appareil pour le nettoyer. N'utilisez pas d'eau ni de détergent pour nettoyer votre appareil, utilisez un chiffon sec et doux. Nettoyez régulièrement le réservoir d'eau ainsi que toutes les parties en contact avec l'eau. Nettoyage du filtre 1. Retirez le réservoir d'eau avant de retirer le filtre. 2. Retirez le filtre avec les poignées du filtre. 3. Lavez le filtre avec de l'eau froide (à une température inférieure à 40) toutes les deux semaines et remettez le filtre après qu'il ait séché naturellement à l'air. 8. Due to its construction this device is not intended for outdoor use, indoor use only. This appliance must be connected to an effective grounding system. 17 Remove all items from the package and remove the adhesive tapes preventing operation of the appliance before use. Assemble the appliance completely before using it. Electrical connections must be made in accordance with current regulations and by a qualified electrician. Before any electrical connection and in order to avoid any risk of electric shock, switch off all power supply and put back into service only when the installation is completely finished. Plug the appliance into an AC outlet that supplies power (specifications, voltage, frequency, etc.) to the specifications on the appliance's rating plate. Unplug the appliance during emptying and cleaning. Never leave water in the reservoir when the appliance is not in use. Empty and clean the humidifier before storage. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS WARNING : Before using your appliance, carefully read the safety instructions in this manual. Control panel Your appliance is already assembled and ready to use. Plug in the power cord. Using the control panel : Power On/Off Press the POWER button to turn the device on or off. The corresponding indicator lights up when the device is in operation. Note : When the humidity level reaches the selected setting, the compressor stops and the indicator flashes. Speed Press the SPEED button to select the fan speed (HI = high ; LOW = low), the corresponding indicator lights up. Timer When the device is operating, you can set the timer so that the device turns off automatically once the selected time has been reached. To set the timer, press the TIMER button. The digital display shows the selected time and the corresponding indicator lights up. Humidity setting Press the HUMIDITY SETTING button to select humidity level and modes. From continuous dehumidification (CO mode) to relative humidity 30%, 35%, 40%, 45%, 50%, 55%, 60%, 65%, 70%, 75%, 80%, 85%, 90 %, comfort mode (AU mode, see below), return to continuous dehumidification (CO mode). When the ambient humidity is lower than the set humidity by 3%, the compressor will automatically stop. The compressor restarts as soon as the ambient humidity becomes 3% higher again. Comfort mode (AU) : - When the ambient temperature is lower than 5, the compressor stops. - When the ambient temperature is above 5 and below 20, the product automatically adjusts the humidity to 60%. - When the ambient temperature is above 20 and below 27, the product automatically adjusts the humidity to 55%. - When the ambient temperature is above 27, the product automatically adjusts the humidity to 50%. Water tank full When the water tank is full, the TANK FULL indicator lights up and the device stops operating until the water tank is emptied (see EMPTY THE WATER TANK section). Defrost When the appliance is defrosting, the indicator DEFROST lights up and the compressor stops working but the motor keeps operating. 26 Draining instructions When dehumidifying, water can be stored in the water tank or continuously discharged through a PVC tube (not included). Continuous drainage 1. Before draining the water continuously, please remove the water tank and connect a drain tube to the drain hole. Then replace the water tank. 2. The drainage tube should be placed lower than the drainage hole to allow water to flow out. Note If you plan not to use your appliance for a long time, we advise you to unplug it from the mains. 5. Information on servicing 1) Checks to the area Prior to beginning work on systems containing flammable refrigerants, safety checks are necessary to ensure that the risk of ignition is minimised. For repair to the refrigerating system, the following precautions shall be complied with prior to conducting work on the system. 2) Work procedure Work shall be undertaken under a controlled procedure so as to minimise the risk of a flammable gas or vapour being present while the work is being performed. 3) Checking for presence of refrigerant The area shall be checked with an appropriate refrigerant detector prior to and during work, to ensure the technician is aware of potentially flammable atmospheres. Ensure that the leak detection equipment being used is suitable for use with flammable refrigerants, i.e. non-sparking, adequately sealed or intrinsically safe. 4) Presence of fire extinguisher If any hot work is to be conducted on the refrigeration equipment or any associated parts, appropriate fire extinguishing equipment shall be available to hand. Have a dry powder or CO2 fire extinguisher adjacent to the charging area. 5) No ignition sources No person carrying out work in relation to a refrigeration system which involves exposing any pipe work that contains or has contained flammable refrigerant shall use any sources of ignition in such a manner that it may lead to the risk of fire or explosion. All possible ignition sources, including cigarette smoking, should be kept sufficiently far away from the site of installation, repairing, removing and disposal, during which flammable refrigerant can possibly be released to the surrounding space. Prior to work taking place, the area around the equipment is to be surveyed to make sure that there are no flammable hazards or ignition risks. "No Smoking" signs shall be displayed. 6) Ventilated area Ensure that the area is in the open or that it is adequately ventilated before breaking into the system or conducting any hot work. A degree of ventilation shall continue during the period that the work is carried out. The ventilation should safely disperse any released refrigerant and preferably expel it externally into the atmosphere. 7) Checks to the refrigeration equipment Where electrical components are being changed, they shall be fit for the purpose and to the correct specification. At all times the manufacturer's maintenance and service guidelines shall be followed. If in doubt consult the manufacturer's technical department for assistance. The following checks shall be applied to installations using flammable refrigerants : The charge size is in accordance with the room size within which the refrigerant containing parts are installed; The ventilation machinery and outlets are operating adequately and are not obstructed; If an indirect refrigerating circuit is being used, the secondary circuit shall be checked for the presence of refrigerant; Marking to the equipment continues to be visible and legible. Markings and signs that are illegible shall be corrected; 30 Refrigeration pipe or components are installed in a position where they are unlikely to be exposed to any substance which may corrode refrigerant containing components, unless the components are constructed of materials which are inherently resistant to being corroded or are suitably protected against being so corroded. 8) Checks to electrical devices Repair and maintenance to electrical components shall include initial safety checks and component inspection procedures. If a fault exists that could compromise safety, then no electrical supply shall be connected to the circuit until it is satisfactorily dealt with. If the fault cannot be corrected immediately but it is necessary to continue operation, an adequate temporary solution shall be used. This shall be reported to the owner of the equipment so all parties are advised. Initial safety checks shall include: · That capacitors are discharged: this shall be done in a safe manner to avoid possibility of sparking; · That there no live electrical components and wiring are exposed while charging, recovering or purging the system; · That there is continuity of earth bonding. 2. Repairs to sealed components 1) During repairs to sealed components, all electrical supplies shall be disconnected from the equipment being worked upon prior to any removal of sealed covers, etc. If it is absolutely necessary to have an electrical supply to equipment during servicing, then a permanently operating form of leak detection shall be located at the most critical point to warn of a potentially hazardous situation. 2) Particular attention shall be paid to the following to ensure that by working on electrical components, the casing is not altered in such a way that the level of protection is affected. This shall include damage to cables, excessive number of connections, terminals not made to original specification, damage to seals, incorrect fitting of glands, etc. Ensure that apparatus is mounted securely. Ensure that seals or sealing materials have not degraded such that they no longer serve the purpose of preventing the ingress of flammable atmospheres. Replacement parts shall be in accordance with the manufacturer's specifications. NOTE: The use of silicon sealant may inhibit the effectiveness of some types of leak detection equipment. Intrinsically safe components do not have to be isolated prior to working on them. 3. Repair to intrinsically safe components Do not apply any permanent inductive or capacitance loads to the circuit without ensuring that this will not exceed the permissible voltage and current permitted for the equipment in use. Intrinsically safe components are the only types that can be worked on while live in the presence of a flammable atmosphere. The test apparatus shall be at the correct rating. Replace components only with parts specified by the manufacturer. Other parts may result in the ignition of refrigerant in the atmosphere from a leak. 4. Cabling Check that cabling will not be subject to wear, corrosion, excessive pressure, vibration, sharp edges or any other adverse environmental effects. The check shall also take into account the effects of aging or continual vibration from sources such as compressors or fans. 5. Detection of flammable refrigerants 31 Under no circumstances shall potential sources of ignition be used in the searching for or detection of refrigerant leaks. A halide torch (or any other detector using a naked flame) shall not be used. 6. Leak detection methods The following leak detection methods are deemed acceptable for systems containing flammable refrigerants. Electronic leak detectors shall be used to detect flammable refrigerants, but the sensitivity may not be adequate, or may need re-calibration. (Detection equipment shall be calibrated in a refrigerant-free area.) Ensure that the detector is not a potential source of ignition and is suitable for the refrigerant used. Leak detection equipment shall be set at a percentage of the LFL of the refrigerant and shall be calibrated to the refrigerant employed and the appropriate percentage of gas (25 % maximum) is confirmed. Leak detection fluids are suitable for use with most refrigerants but the use of detergents containing chlorine shall be avoided as the chlorine may react with the refrigerant and corrode the copper pipe-work. If a leak is suspected, all naked flames shall be removed/ extinguished. If a leakage of refrigerant is found which requires brazing, all of the refrigerant shall be recovered from the system, or isolated (by means of shut off valves) in a part of the system remote from the leak. Oxygen free nitrogen (OFN) shall then be purged through the system both before and during the brazing process. 7. Removal and evacuation When breaking into the refrigerant circuit to make repairs or for any other purpose conventional procedures shall be used. However, it is important that best practice is followed since flammability is a consideration. The following procedure shall be adhered to: · Remove refrigerant; · Purge the circuit with inert gas; · Evacuate; · Purge again with inert gas; · Open the circuit by cutting or brazing. The refrigerant charge shall be recovered into the correct recovery cylinders. The system shall be "flushed" with OFN to render the unit safe. This process may need to be repeated several times. Compressed air or oxygen shall not be used for this task. Flushing shall be achieved by breaking the vacuum in the system with OFN and continuing to fill until the working pressure is achieved, then venting to atmosphere, and finally pulling down to a vacuum. This process shall be repeated until no refrigerant is within the system. When the final OFN charge is used, the system shall be vented down to atmospheric pressure to enable work to take place. This operation is absolutely vital if brazing operations on the pipe-work are to take place. Ensure that the outlet for the vacuum pump is not close to any ignition sources and there is ventilation available. 8. Charging procedures In addition to conventional charging procedures, the following requirements shall be followed. Ensure that contamination of different refrigerants does not occur when using charging equipment. Hoses or lines shall be as short as possible to minimise the amount of refrigerant contained in them. Cylinders shall be kept upright. 32 Ensure that the refrigeration system is earthed prior to charging the system with refrigerant. Label the system when charging is complete (if not already). Extreme care shall be taken not to overfill the refrigeration system. Prior to recharging the system it shall be pressure tested with OFN. The system shall be leak tested on completion of charging but prior to commissioning. A follow up leak test shall be carried out prior to leaving the site. 9. Decommissioning Before carrying out this procedure, it is essential that the technician is completely familiar with the equipment and all its detail. It is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are recovered safely. Prior to the task being carried out, an oil and refrigerant sample shall be taken in case analysis is required prior to re-use of reclaimed refrigerant. It is essential that electrical power is available before the task is commenced. a) Become familiar with the equipment and its operation. b) Isolate system electrically. c) Before attempting the procedure ensure that: · Mechanical handling equipment is available, if required, for handling refrigerant cylinders; · All personal protective equipment is available and being used correctly; · The recovery process is supervised at all times by a competent person; · Recovery equipment and cylinders conform to the appropriate standards. d) Pump down refrigerant system, if possible. e) If a vacuum is not possible, make a manifold so that refrigerant can be removed from various parts of the system. f) Make sure that cylinder is situated on the scales before recovery takes place. g) Start the recovery machine and operate in accordance with manufacturer's instructions. h) Do not overfill cylinders. (No more than 80 % volume liquid charge). i) Do not exceed the maximum working pressure of the cylinder, even temporarily. j) When the cylinders have been filled correctly and the process completed, make sure that the cylinders and the equipment are removed from site promptly and all isolation valves on the equipment are closed off. k) Recovered refrigerant shall not be charged into another refrigeration system unless it has been cleaned and checked. 10. Labelling Equipment shall be labelled stating that it has been de-commissioned and emptied of refrigerant. The label shall be dated and signed. Ensure that there are labels on the equipment stating the equipment contains flammable refrigerant. 11. Recovery When removing refrigerant from a system, either for servicing or decommissioning, it is recommended good practice that all refrigerants are removed safely. When transferring refrigerant into cylinders, ensure that only appropriate refrigerant recovery cylinders are employed. Ensure that the correct number of cylinders for holding the total system charge is available. All cylinders to be used are designated for the recovered refrigerant and labelled for that refrigerant (i.e. special cylinders for the recovery of refrigerant). Cylinders shall be complete with pressure relief valve and associated shut-off valves in good working order. Empty recovery cylinders are evacuated and, if possible, cooled before recovery occurs. 33 The recovery equipment shall be in good working order with a set of instructions concerning the equipment that is at hand and shall be suitable for the recovery of flammable refrigerants. In addition, a set of calibrated weighing scales shall be available and in good working order. Hoses shall be complete with leak-free disconnect couplings and in good condition. Before using the recovery machine, check that it is in satisfactory working order, has been properly maintained and that any associated electrical components are sealed to prevent ignition in the event of a refrigerant release. Consult manufacturer if in doubt. The recovered refrigerant shall be returned to the refrigerant supplier in the correct recovery cylinder, and the relevant Waste Transfer Note arranged. Do not mix refrigerants in recovery units and especially not in cylinders. If compressors or compressor oils are to be removed, ensure that they have been evacuated to an acceptable level to make certain that flammable refrigerant does not remain within the lubricant. The evacuation process shall be carried out prior to returning the compressor to the suppliers. Only electric heating to the compressor body shall be employed to accelerate this process. When oil is drained from a system, it shall be carried out safely.
