Overview
This document provides essential specifications, configuration guidance, and operational instructions for the RadioMaster RP2 ELRS 2.4GHz Receiver.
Physical Layout and Diagrams
Top View of RP2 Receiver: Depicts the RP2 circuit board (labeled "RP2 V1.2") with a prominent "CERAMIC ANTENNA" and an "LED" indicator. Key pin connections are labeled: "RX", "TX", "5V", and "G" (Ground). The board's dimensions are approximately 13mm.
Bottom View of RP2 Receiver: Shows the underside of the board, marked with "ELRS" and "ESP 8285". Pinouts for "5V", "TX", and "RX" are visible. A note highlights the "Firmware upgrade button," specifying that it requires shorting the "GND" pin with a metal object during power-up. Dimensions of 11mm and 7mm are also indicated.

Configuration with Flight Controllers
To integrate the RP2 receiver with flight controllers, such as those running Betaflight:
- Launch the Betaflight Configurator application.
- Navigate to the Ports tab.
- Locate the UART port you intend to use for the receiver (e.g., UART2) and enable it as a Serial RX.
- Apply the changes and restart the Betaflight Configurator.
Within the Configuration tab:
- Confirm that the selected UART is set to 'Serial Rx' in the Ports tab.
- Choose the appropriate data format from the available dropdown options.
- In the Receiver section, select 'Serial-based receiver' and then choose 'CRSF' as the Serial Receiver Provider.
Typical configuration parameters are as follows:
Identifier | Configuration/MSP Baud Rate | Serial RX Status |
---|---|---|
USB VCP | 115200 | |
UART1 | 115200 | |
UART2 | 115200 | Enabled |
Traditional Binding Procedure
Follow these steps to establish a connection (bind) between your receiver and transmitter:
- Ensure your transmitter/radio is powered OFF.
- Connect and disconnect the receiver's power supply three times in quick succession. The receiver's LED should flash rapidly (a double blink pattern), indicating it has entered bind mode.
- Power ON your transmitter/radio.
- Access the ExpressLRS Lua script interface on your transmitter. Select the [BIND] button and confirm to initiate the binding pulse.
- A solid LED on the receiver signifies a successful binding process.
