LD-S866 Manual Control Panel Usage Instructions
Version -V1.0
Introduction
This document provides usage instructions for the LD-S866 manual control panel.
Appearance, Size, and Material
The product shell is made of ABS with a liquid crystal transparent window made of imported high-hardness acrylic, equivalent to toughened glass.
Dimensions:
- Front view of meter: 80.50mm width, 53.00mm height.
- Instrument profile: 47.50mm width, 49.50mm height, 22.2mm diameter for handlebar mounting.
Working Voltage and Wiring Mode
Working Voltage: Compatible with DC24V, 36V, 48V, 60V. Other voltages can be customized.
Wiring Mode:
The control panel uses a standard connector. The wiring sequence is as follows:
Pin | Wire Color | Function |
---|---|---|
1 | Red (VCC) | Meter power line |
2 | Blue (K) | Controller's power control line |
3 | Black (GND) | Meter ground wire |
4 | Green (RX) | Meter data receiving line |
5 | Yellow (TX) | Meter data sending line |
Note: Some products may use waterproof connectors, making wire colors invisible.
Function Description
1. Display Functions
- Speed display
- Power indicator
- Fault prompt
- Total mileage (ODO)
- Single mileage (TRIP)
2. Control and Setup Functions
- Power switch control
- Wheel diameter setting
- Idle automatic sleep time setting
- Backlight brightness setting
- Starting mode setting
- Driving mode setting
- Voltage level setting
- Controller current limit value setting
3. Communication Protocol
UART protocol. All display screen contents are shown within 1 second after boot.
Display Content Introduction
3.1 Battery Display
Shows battery level.
3.2 Multi-function Display
Includes ODO (total mileage), TRIP (single mileage), TIME, VOL (battery voltage), and DST (endurance mileage).
3.3 Speed Display
Displays AVG (average speed), MAX (maximum speed), and current SPEED. Units can be mph or km/h.
The speed signal is received from the Hall sensor in the motor and processed by the controller. The instrument calculates the actual speed based on wheel diameter and signal data. The number of magnetic steels in the motor's rotor also needs to be set correctly.
3.4 Vehicle Assistance
Shows digital display and gear bar for assistance levels (H, M, L).
3.5 Vehicle Status Icons
- Motor: Indicates motor status.
- Brake: Indicates brake activation.
- Headlight on: Indicates the headlight is on.
Settings (P-settings)
P01: Backlight Brightness: Level 1 (darkest) to Level 3 (brightest).
P02: Mileage Unit: 0 for KM, 1 for MILE.
P03: Voltage Grade: Options include 24V, 36V, 48V, 60V, 64V (default 36V).
P04: Sleep Time: 0 for no sleep, 1-60 minutes for hibernation time.
P05: Power Gear: Options for 0, 3, or 5 modes.
P06: Wheel Diameter: Unit in inches, precision 0.1. This setting is crucial for accurate speed display and must be entered correctly.
P07: Speed Measuring Magnetic Steel Count: Range 1-100. This setting is also critical for accurate speed display and must be entered correctly. For common hub motors, input the magnetic steel count directly. For high-speed motors, calculate the input data as: magnetic steel count × deceleration ratio.
P08: Speed Limit: Range 0-100 km/h. A value of 100 means no speed limit. The input data represents the maximum running speed. For example, inputting 25 limits the vehicle's speed to 25 km/h. Drive speed is maintained at the set value. Error margin is ±1 km/h.
Note: Speed limit values are based on kilometers. If the unit is converted to miles, the speed limit value will not be converted, which may lead to inconsistency with the actual displayed speed limit.
Note: P09-P15 settings are only available in communication state.
P09: Zero Start Setting: 0 for zero start, 1 for non-zero start.
P10: Drive Mode Setting: 0 for power drive (gear determines power output, handle is invalid), 1 for electric drive (handle drives, gear is invalid), 2 for power-assisted drive and electric drive coexistence.
P11: Power Sensitivity Setting: Range 1-24.
P12: Power Starting Intensity Setting: Range 0-5.
P13: Assisted Magnetic Steel Plate Type: Options for 5, 8, or 12 magnetic steel types.
P14: Controller Current Limit Value: Set within the default range of 12A, with options from 1-20A.
P15: Undervoltage Protection: Sets the undervoltage value of the controller.
P16: ODO Zero Clearing Setting: Long press the key for 5 seconds.
P17: Cruise Control: 0 for disabled cruise, 1 for enabled cruise (optional for protocol 2).
P18: Display Speed Proportional Adjustment: Range 50%-150%.
P19: Enabling Bit: 0 includes 0, 1 does not include 0.
P20: Protocol Selection: 0 for Protocol 1, 2 for Protocol 2, 3 for standby.
