InnovairFlex™ Series DNRA Duct Smoke Detector

Description

The InnovairFlex™ Series DNRA is an intelligent, non-relay photoelectric duct smoke detector. It features a pivoting housing compatible with both square and rectangular footprints, allowing mounting to round or rectangular ducts. The DNRA detector can be used with the 7100-C Series System.

Note: The InnovairFlex™ Series DNRA requires the Velociti® Series ASD-PL2FRA Sensor and AOM-2RFA if relays are needed for fan control.

This unit is designed for challenging conditions, operating in airflow speeds from 100 to 4,000 feet per minute, temperatures from -4°F to 158°F (-20°C to 70°C), and humidity from 0% to 95% (non-condensing).

An improved cover design isolates the sensor head from the low-flow feature for simple maintenance. A cover tamper feature provides a trouble signal if the sensor cover is removed or improperly installed. The InnovairFlex housing includes a 3/4-inch conduit knockout and ample space for easy wiring and relay module mounting.

The detector can be customized to meet local codes and specifications without additional wiring. The InnovairFlex product line is compatible with previous Innovair models, including remote test accessories.

WARNING: Duct smoke detectors have specific limitations. They are NOT a substitute for open area smoke detectors, early warning detection, or a building's regular fire detection system.

Architectural/Engineering Specifications

The air duct smoke detector shall be a System Sensor InnovairFlex™ DNRA Intelligent Non-Relay Photoelectric Duct Smoke Detector. The detector housing shall be ULC Listed specifically for use in air handling systems. The flexible housing fits both square and rectangular footprints. The detector shall operate at air velocities of 100 ft/min to 4,000 ft/min (0.5 m/sec to 20.32 m/sec). The unit shall provide a trouble signal if the sensor cover is removed or improperly installed. Local testing is possible via magnetic switch or remote testing using the RTS151KEY-A remote test station. Terminal connections use a strip and clamp method for 12–18 AWG wiring.

Installing the InnovairFlex Sampling Tube

The InnovairFlex sampling tube can be installed from the front or back of the detector. The tube locks securely into place and can be removed by releasing the front or rear locking tab. (Figure 3 illustrates the front locking tab).

Important Notes

• The use of the RTS151KEY-A requires the installation of an accessory coil, DCOIL, sold separately. For additional information, refer to the DNRA Installation Manual.
• The RTS151KEY-A test coil circuit requires an external 24 VDC power supply which must be ULC Listed.

Accessories

System Sensor provides system flexibility with a variety of accessories, including two remote test stations and different means of visible system annunciation. All duct smoke detector accessories are ULC Listed.
