Manual Information & Usage Precautions

This user's manual contains basic information for product usage as well as for emergency measures that may be required.

The following separate manuals provide more detailed content on various technological issues and areas:

BIXOLON maintains ongoing efforts to enhance product functions and quality. Product specifications and/or user manual content may be changed without prior notice.

Safety Precautions

Please adhere to the following safety regulations to prevent any hazard or material damage.

WARNING

Violating these instructions can cause serious injury or death.

CAUTION

Violating these instructions can cause slight wound or damage the appliance.

Battery Safety Precautions

Review the user manual carefully prior to product use. Neglecting these instructions can result in battery overheating, combustion, explosion, damage, and/or decline in performance and product life.

Danger

  1. Do not allow water, seawater, or moisture to enter or leak into the battery. This can oxidize the safety mechanism, leading to overcharging, overheating, ignition, or explosion.
  2. Do not place the battery near open flames or heating devices. Excessive heat can damage the resin case and insulating materials, causing short circuits, overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  3. Charge the battery only with the BIXOLON-specified charger. Using an incorrect charger may result in overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  4. Charging with a modified charger or incorrect polarity may cause abnormal chemical reactions, leading to overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  5. Do not directly connect the battery to an electrical power outlet not specified by BIXOLON or an automobile's cigarette lighter jack. This may cause overheating, combustion, or explosion due to over-current or over-voltage.
  6. Do not heat the battery or place it near a fire. This may melt insulation, damage the safety mechanism, or ignite the electrolytic solution, risking overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  7. Do not reverse the battery's (+) and (-) connections. Reverse polarity charging can cause undesired chemical reactions, leading to overheating, explosion, or fire.
  8. Do not allow the battery's poles to contact metal items. Do not carry or store the battery with metallic items (necklaces, hairpins) to prevent short circuits and potential overheating, ignition, or explosion.
  9. Do not throw the battery or subject it to strong shock. Damage to the safety mechanism can lead to overcharging and adverse chemical reactions, risking overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  10. Do not pierce the battery with pointed objects or strike it with heavy objects. Avoid stepping on the battery, as this can cause internal short circuits, overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  11. Do not solder the battery directly, as this can melt insulating materials and damage the safety mechanism, leading to overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  12. Do not disassemble or modify the battery. The battery contains safety equipment and mechanisms to prevent danger; disassembly risks overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  13. Do not charge the battery near open flames or direct sunlight. High temperatures can trigger the safety mechanism, preventing proper charging or causing overcharging, risking overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  14. Do not expose the battery to temperatures over 60°C or use/store it in hot or humid places.
  15. Do not use the battery if it is damaged, deformed, or swollen due to external shock.

Warning

  1. Keep the battery away from small children to prevent swallowing accidents. If swallowed, consult a physician immediately.
  2. Do not place the battery in a microwave oven or high-voltage appliance, as this can cause rapid overheating and destruction of the sealing, leading to overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  3. Do not combine batteries of different capacities or types with the primary battery. This can cause excessive discharge or charging, leading to abnormal chemical reactions, overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  4. If you detect strange odors or conditions (overheating, color changes, warping) during usage, storage, or charging, remove the battery and discontinue use. Continued use may cause overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  5. If the battery is not fully charged after the normal charging time, discontinue charging. Continued charging can result in overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  6. If the battery appears to have condensation or emits a strange odor, move it away from heat sources. Condensation may indicate a leak of electrolytic solution that can ignite and cause combustion or explosion.
  7. If the battery leaks electrolytic solution and it contacts eyes, wash immediately with clean water and consult a physician to prevent permanent eye injuries.

Caution

  1. Do not use or leave the battery in locations exposed to high temperatures or intense direct sunlight (e.g., inside an automobile). This can cause overheating and/or combustion, reducing performance and product life.
  2. Do not use the battery in locations prone to static electricity, as this can damage the safety mechanism, leading to overheating, combustion, or explosion.
  3. Observe the following temperature ranges for battery usage: Charging: 0-40°C; Product Usage: -20-60°C; Storage: -20-60°C (30 days); Long-Term Storage: -20-40°C (90 days). Usage outside these ranges can cause overheating, damage, and reduced performance/life.
  4. Review the exclusive charger manual for charging instructions.
  5. If you observe abnormal symptoms (strange smell, overheating) upon first use, contact your local dealer immediately.
  6. If a child uses the battery, the parent or legal guardian must explain the manual's instructions and periodically confirm adherence.
  7. Store the battery, charger, and product out of reach of small children.
  8. If the battery leaks electrolytic solution and it contacts skin or clothing, wash thoroughly with clean water to prevent skin disorders.
  9. Review the user manual and precautions carefully before use and store them in a secure location for future reference.
  10. Replace with an incorrect battery risks explosion. Use only BIXOLON-specified models. Insulate used batteries with tape and dispose of them according to local regulations.
  11. Using the printed side of preprinted media may cause malfunction.

Recommended

  1. Review the user manual for battery insertion/removal instructions.
  2. The shipped battery is partially charged; charge it fully with the supplied charger before first use or long operation.
  3. Review the user manual carefully to avoid improper battery use.
  4. Do not charge the battery for excessively long periods beyond the indicated time.
  5. If the battery is not to be used for a long time, remove it and store it in a low-humidity location. Storage in high humidity can cause oxidization and performance decline.
  6. Turn off the equipment after use to prevent battery performance degradation.
  7. Batteries may fail to charge if unused for extended periods. Charge at least every six months if the equipment is not used.
  8. If the battery terminal is contaminated, clean it with a dry cloth before use. Contaminated contacts can cause power supply or charging issues.
  9. Each battery has a life cycle. Replace the battery if usage time is shortened. Insulate and dispose of used batteries according to local regulations.
