RECOMMENDED

Where a hard, durable interior or exterior finish is desired. It is an all-purpose enamel - excellent for wood, concrete, plaster, masonry, hardboard, and metal.

SURFACE PREPARATION

New or previously painted surfaces must be free of moisture, dust, dirt, wax, polish, and grease. Wash thoroughly and let dry completely. Rust spots on metal must be removed and spot primed.

Ferrous Metal: Prime with Rust-Inhibitive Metal Primer.

Galvanized Metal: Check for stabilizing film and remove appropriately. Prime with Galvanized Metal Primer.

Efflorescence on masonry or concrete surfaces must be removed. Wash with a solution mixed with one pound of caustic soda to a gallon of water, then rinse thoroughly to remove all traces of caustic and allow to completely dry. Once removed, prime all treated concrete and/or bare concrete with an alkali-resistant, or acrylic primer.

Unpainted Concrete Floors: Prior to painting, etch surface with a 10% Muriatic Acid solution in strict accordance to manufacturer's application and safety instructions. Wear rubber gloves and goggles to prevent contact with Acid solution. Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry. Follow with 2 coats of Diamond Brite Oil Base Enamel. Do not paint if floor is cold, or if room is cold and damp. Not recommended for surfaces subjected to vehicular traffic.

APPLICATION

Stir contents thoroughly until uniform. If using two or more gallons of the same color, mix together and stir paint thoroughly to make sure color is uniform throughout. Apply smoothly and evenly with a good quality nylon brush, short nap roller or pad applicator. Do not paint exterior surfaces when temperatures are below 50° F, in direct sunlight or if rain is expected within 24 hours. CAUTION: Surfaces coated with this product may become slippery when wet. DO NOT THIN.

WARNING

If you scrape, sand, or remove old paint, you may release lead dust. LEAD IS TOXIC. EXPOSURE TO LEAD DUST CAN CAUSE SERIOUS ILLNESS, SUCH AS BRAIN DAMAGE, ESPECIALLY IN CHILDREN. PREGNANT WOMEN SHOULD ALSO AVOID EXPOSURE. Wear a NIOSH approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a HEPA vacuum and wet mop. CLEAN UP

Paint Thinner. Danger - Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with Oil Base Enamel may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed water-filled metal container.

DRYING

12 hours to touch. 24 hours to re-coat. Let dry 24 hours before walking on. Temperature and humidity may increase dry time.

COVERAGE

Will average 400 sq. ft. per gallon. Use two coats on porous surfaces or when using a bright color. Use above 50° F and lower that 85°F relative humidity.

DISPOSAL

This product contains no chromium, lead or mercury. Place opened, empty containers in normal refuse for disposal. Contact your sanitation department or household waste coordinator for information concerning re-use, recycling, or disposal of unused oil paint.
