Foreword
Congratulations on becoming the owner of a Vermeiren wheelchair! This wheelchair has been manufactured by skilled and dedicated employees, meeting Vermeiren's high standards of construction and manufacturing. Thank you for your trust in Vermeiren products. This manual will help you use your wheelchair and its operating capabilities. Please read it carefully to familiarize yourself with the operation, features, and limitations of your wheelchair. If you have any questions after reading this manual, please contact your dealer at any time. They will be happy to assist you.
Important Note
To ensure your safety and prolong the product's lifespan, treat it well and have it regularly inspected and/or serviced. This manual contains the latest product developments. Vermeiren reserves the right to make changes to this type of product without any obligation to adapt or replace similar products already delivered. The illustrations are for clarification of the instructions in this manual. The product shown may differ in details from your product.

1 Your Product

1.1 Options
For options, please contact your dealer. They will be happy to advise you.
2 Before Use
2.1 Intended Use
This section provides a brief description of the intended use of your wheelchair. Additionally, the instructions in the other sections contain further warnings. This is to inform you about the possibility of improper use.
- This wheelchair is suitable for indoor and outdoor use.
- It is designed and manufactured exclusively to transport one (1) person with a maximum weight of 130 kg. It is not intended for transporting items or objects or for any other purpose than described above.
- This wheelchair can be operated by the seated user or pushed by an attendant. You must NOT use this wheelchair if you suffer from mental or physical impairments that could endanger you or others while driving. Please consult your doctor first and ensure your dealer is informed of their advice.
- Only use accessories or spare parts approved by Vermeiren.
- Refer to the technical data and limitations of your wheelchair in Section 6.
- The warranty for this product is based on its normal use and maintenance as described in this manual. Damage to your product due to improper use or lack of maintenance will void the warranty.
2.2 General Safety Instructions
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or property damage
Please read and follow the instructions in this operating manual, as failure to do so may result in injury or damage to your wheelchair.
Observe the following general warnings when using the wheelchair:
- Do not use your wheelchair if you are under the influence of alcohol, medication, or other substances that may impair your driving ability.
- Be aware that some components of your wheelchair can become very hot or cold due to influences such as ambient temperature, sunlight, heating devices, or motor operation. Be careful when touching. Wear protective clothing in cold weather. Wait for the wheelchair/motor to cool down after use.
- Before switching on the wheelchair, check your environment/situation. Adjust your speed accordingly before setting off. We recommend selecting the lowest speed setting when driving indoors. When driving outdoors, you can choose a speed at which you feel comfortable and safe.
- ALWAYS be aware that your wheelchair may stop suddenly due to a discharged battery or to prevent potential damage to the wheelchair. Also check the causes mentioned in Section 4.3. Use the safety belt to prevent injuries.
- Your wheelchair has been tested for electromagnetic compatibility and meets the relevant standard (see Section 6). Nevertheless, sources of electromagnetic fields such as mobile phones, power generators, or high-power energy sources can affect your wheelchair's performance. Conversely, your wheelchair's electronics can also influence other electronic devices such as store alarm systems and automatic doors. We therefore recommend regularly checking your wheelchair for damage and wear, as such interferences can be amplified (see also Section 4).
- Drive only on level surfaces so that both drive wheels are on the ground and have sufficient contact for safe operation of the wheelchair.
- Without prior consultation with the manufacturer, fixation points or structural and frame parts or components of the wheelchair should not be altered or replaced.
- During operation, ensure that fingers, clothing, belts, buckles, or jewelry do not get caught by the wheels or other moving parts.
Please note that your wheelchair may interfere with some anti-theft devices depending on the settings used, which could trigger the alarm. Any serious incident [MDR (EU) 2017/745 §2 (65)] that occurs in connection with the product should be reported to the manufacturer and the competent authority of the Member State in which the user and/or patient resides.
2.3 Symbols on the Wheelchair
The following symbols apply to your wheelchair. Symbols can be found in the corresponding ISO standards (ISO 7000, ISO 7001, and IEC 417).

2.4 Transport
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of damage
Take precautions to protect the wheelchair from transport damage.
2.4.1 Moving Aside
Use the control console to move the wheelchair to the desired location. Alternatively, put the wheelchair into freewheel mode (see Section 3.4) and use the push handle.
2.4.2 Transport on Aircraft
When transporting the wheelchair on an aircraft, lock and disconnect the battery before handing the wheelchair over to airport personnel (see §3.9 and §3.8). The battery can remain in the wheelchair. Please inquire with your airline about the correct procedure.
2.4.3 Transport in a Vehicle (as Luggage)
The best way to transport your electric wheelchair is to drive it into the vehicle using ramps. If you are not used to driving on ramps, you can put the wheelchair into neutral mode and then push it into the vehicle via the ramps. Disassemble the wheelchair if necessary.
- As a wheelchair user, transfer to a vehicle seat (see Section 3.5).
- Before transport, remove all movable parts (footrests, armrests, etc.).
- Securely place the movable parts behind the vehicle seat or in the trunk.
- Drive or push the electric wheelchair into the vehicle using ramps, or lift it in with the help of two people by grasping the fixed frame parts.
- Securely strap down the fixed parts of the frame to the vehicle.
- Put the wheelchair into drive mode (engage brakes) and check that the control console is switched off.
2.5 Assembly/Disassembly
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of injury
- When assembling or disassembling, ensure that fingers, clothing, or buckles do not get caught by moving parts.
Your dealer will deliver the wheelchair fully assembled and explain the various controls and their use. We also provide a more detailed explanation of the various parts for transport purposes here.
Assembly of the Electric Wheelchair:
- Unfold the seat frame (A).
- Place the seat frame onto the front wheels and the rear support wheels.
- Position the drive unit (B) behind the seat frame.
- Unscrew the star grip (1) and remove the control console (2) from the drive unit. Temporarily place the console in a safe location, for example, above the backrest.
- Place the hooks of the seat frame (3) onto the rods (4) of the drive unit.
- Press the seat frame down until an audible click is heard and the frame is securely attached to the drive unit, both on the left and right. Check if the hooks (8) are engaged in the lower position. If the seat frame does not engage automatically, place the frame onto the drive unit and manually push the hooks (8) down.
- Attach the armrests (see Section 3.6.2).
- Attach the footrests (see Section 3.6.1).
- Slide the control console into the armrest support (5). Tighten the star grip (6) and secure the cable with the clips (7).
Disassembly of the Electric Wheelchair:
- Loosen the cable from the clips on the armrest. Loosen the star grip (6) on the control console holder and slide the console out. Temporarily place the console in a safe location.
- Pull the hooks (8) on both sides of the lower frame upwards. This separates the drive unit from the frame and tilts it backward onto its support wheels.
- Pull the seat frame upwards and away from the drive unit.
- Remove the armrests.
- Remove the footrests.
- Fold the seat frame together.
- Insert the control console (2) into the designated holder on the drive unit and tighten the star grip (1).

2.6 First Use and Storage
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of battery damage
- Ensure that you never fully discharge the battery.
- Do not interrupt the charging cycle and only disconnect the charger when the battery is fully charged.
- Ensure your wheelchair is stored dry to prevent mold formation and damage to the upholstery.
- Refer to the technical details for storage (see Section 6).
Ensure the battery is fully charged before using your wheelchair. Check with your dealer whether this has already been done. For charging, follow the instructions in Section 3.7.
3 Using the Wheelchair
❗ WARNING: Risk of injury
First, read the preceding chapters and familiarize yourself with the intended use. Do NOT use the wheelchair until you have carefully read and fully understood all instructions. Also read the instructions in the manual for the control console and the charger! If you have any doubts or questions, please contact your dealer, caregiver, or specialist advisor for assistance.
3.1 First Drive
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or property damage
- Always consider the swing range of the footrest and control console to avoid injuring passers-by or damaging objects.
- Always disconnect the charger from the wheelchair before setting off.
- Ensure you are familiar with your wheelchair's operation before using it in crowded and potentially dangerous locations. First, practice in a spacious, open area with few passers-by.
- Explore how weight shifts affect the wheelchair's handling by, for example, driving up and down inclines, navigating diagonal passages, or overcoming obstacles. Have an assistant help you with this.
- During operation, the surface of the control console may become slightly warm. Speed is reduced when reversing.
To start driving:
- Ensure that:
- the wheelchair is on a level surface
- the battery is fully charged (see § 3.7)
- the motor is engaged (see § 3.4)
- the wheelchair is adjusted to your needs and comfort preferences (see § 3.6)
- you have assumed the correct seating position (see Section 3.5)
- Follow the instructions in the control console manual.
- Switch on the wheelchair.
- Set the speed control to the lowest speed.
- Practice how to drive and make adjustments to the wheelchair.
- Once you feel confident enough, you can repeat this at a higher speed.
- Now try driving forward and backward around a curve. Repeat this a few times.
- Ensure your wheelchair is stable when you stop.
- Switch off the wheelchair.
3.2 Driving Outdoors
❗ WARNING: Risk of accident - Adjust your driving behavior and speed accordingly.
- Adhere to the applicable traffic regulations. This applies to driving on sidewalks as well as unpaved or paved roads.
- Do not drive on roads with heavy traffic.
- Consider the respective weather conditions. Avoid driving in damp weather, extreme heat, snow, ice, or sub-zero temperatures (see technical data in Section 6).
- Ensure you are easily visible even during the day by wearing fluorescent clothing and/or attaching your own lighting to the front and rear of the wheelchair.
- Be aware of other road users for whom your wheelchair might be an obstacle. Be particularly careful when turning and reversing. If you are not yet proficient at reversing, practice in a quiet place first. Indicate where you intend to go before changing your direction of travel.
- Try to drive straight through narrow passages to avoid getting stuck.
- Consider your braking distance. Note that the braking distance depends on speed, surface condition, weather conditions, incline, and user weight.
3.2.1 Driving on Inclines/Declines, Curbs, Obstacles, or Ramps
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of injury from unexpected movement
- For your own safety, fasten the safety belt in the wheelchair.
- Check if the path is sandy, has soft ground, or has holes or gaps where the wheels could get stuck or where the traction of the drive wheels could be reduced.
- Do NOT drive on slopes, obstacles, steps, or curbs that are larger than specified by the manufacturer (see technical data in Section 6).
- Always approach a curb at a right angle.
- Do not put the wheelchair into freewheel mode on an incline. The wheelchair could start moving and injure you or passers-by.
- Do not use the wheelchair on an escalator.
- Use only Vermeiren-approved ramps and never exceed their maximum load capacity.
- To safely overcome obstacles or inclines, position the wheelchair in the most upright seating position possible.
ℹ️ If you stop on an incline, the brake will automatically engage to prevent the wheelchair from rolling forward or backward.
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of damage
- Park your electric wheelchair on a level surface and in a location that is easily accessible.
- If necessary, gain some momentum to accelerate the wheelchair over an obstacle or curb. Avoid the wheelchair bouncing back sharply.
- Ensure that the wheelchair does not touch the ground or ramp due to its tilted position.
- Remember that the braking distance on downhill sections can be considerably longer than on level ground.
Procedure
- Begin your drive according to the instructions in Section 3.1, Step 1.
- Use a lifting device or ramp to move the wheelchair up or down stairs/steps. If this is not possible, it can be transported manually by at least three people by gripping the frame with both hands. Do not lift the wheelchair by the backrest, footrests, armrests, or wheels.
- Overcoming obstacles or inclines:
- Position the wheelchair in the most stable position possible (see Section 3.5).
- Drive as slowly as possible to overcome the obstacle or incline.
3.3 Control Console
ℹ️ Place the joystick in the neutral (center) position before pressing the ON/OFF button. Otherwise, the electronics will be locked. To unlock, switch the control console off and then on again.
The control console includes:
- 1. ON/OFF Button
- 2. Battery Status Indicator
- 3. Speed Indicator
- 4. Horn Button
- 5. Speed Decrease Button
- 6. Speed Increase Button
- 7. Joystick

3.3.1 Technical Safety Precautions
For your own safety and to prevent damage to the wheelchair, movements are monitored by the electronics. This may result in a reduction in speed or a complete stop.
- To prevent accidental battery discharge, your wheelchair has an automatic shut-off system. This system automatically switches off the control console when it has not been used for a period of time. In such a case, simply switch the console back on.
- Ensure that the freewheel lever is in the brake position BEFORE switching on the wheelchair. The electromagnetic brakes do NOT function when the wheelchair is in freewheel mode. This is indicated on the control console. Driving is not possible in this mode.
3.3.2 Driving
- To switch on the wheelchair, press the ON/OFF button (1).
- When the lights of the battery charge indicator (2) and the speed indicator (3) illuminate, the wheelchair is switched on and ready to drive.
- Check the battery status indicator. Charge the battery if necessary (see Section 3.7).
- Set the driving speed: Decrease speed with the Speed Decrease button (5), or increase speed with the Speed Increase button (6).
- Start moving the wheelchair by slowly moving the joystick (7) forward/backward.
- Speed increases the further the joystick is pushed from its center position.
- To drive left or right, push the joystick left or right accordingly.
- To brake, return the joystick to the neutral position.
- If necessary, press the horn button (4) to warn other road users.
- After arrival, check the battery status and press the ON/OFF button to switch off the wheelchair.
- Charge the battery if necessary.
3.4 Brake and Freewheel Lever
❗ ATTENTION: Risk of injury or damage
- Only operate the freewheel lever when your wheelchair is OFF! The freewheel lever should be operated by an assistant. NEVER operate the freewheel lever once you have assumed your seating position.
- Never use the freewheel mode on inclines or declines.
ℹ️ Ensure that the freewheel lever is in the brake position BEFORE switching on the wheelchair. The electromagnetic brakes do NOT function when the wheelchair is in freewheel mode. This is indicated on the control console. Driving is not possible in this mode.
Your wheelchair has electromagnetic brakes. The function of the brakes depends on the position of the freewheel lever (1).
These brakes function automatically, but only when the freewheel lever (1) is in the brake position. The brake is activated in the following cases:
- The wheelchair is OFF
- The wheelchair is ON and the joystick is released
When the joystick is released, the wheelchair stops slowly and the brakes are activated.
Operating the Freewheel Lever:
- Turn the levers UP to put the wheelchair into freewheel mode. The motor is now disconnected. The wheelchair can be moved manually.
- Turn the levers DOWN to connect the motor to the drive. This should be done before starting the wheelchair.

3.5 Transferring into/out of the Wheelchair
❗ ATTENTION: Risk of injury or damage
If you cannot safely manage the process alone, ask someone for help. Do not step on the footplates when transferring into or out of the wheelchair.
Transfer
- Position the wheelchair as close as possible next to you when you are sitting in an armchair, sofa, chair, or bed.
- To activate the brakes, turn the freewheel lever (13) to the brake position (see § 3.4).
- Fold down the footplate(s) so you do not step on them.
- If necessary, fold back an armrest to provide more space (see Section 3.6.2).
- Move into or out of the wheelchair using your own strength with your arms or with the help of others.
Sitting in the Wheelchair
- Sit so that your lower back is against the backrest.
- Fold the footplate(s) down again and place your feet on them.
- If necessary, fold the armrest down again.
- Ensure that your thighs are horizontal and your feet are in a comfortable position. Make adjustments if necessary.
- Ensure that your arms are bent and rest comfortably on the armrests. Make adjustments if necessary.
Establishing a Stable Position
When the wheelchair is to be transported or if you need to overcome obstacles, it must have maximum stability:
- Backrest upright
- Footplate folded up
3.6 Comfort Settings
❗ ATTENTION: Risk of injury or damage
The following comfort settings can be made by the attendant or caregiver. All other settings must be made by the dealer according to the assembly instructions (see Foreword).
- When making adjustments to the wheelchair, ensure that fingers, clothing, or buckles do not get caught by moving parts.
3.6.1 Mounting or Dismounting Footrests
To mount the footrests, proceed as follows:
- Hold the footrest on the side of the wheelchair frame and insert the tube into the frame.
- Swivel the footrest inwards until it clicks into place.
- Swivel the footplate downwards.
To remove the footrests:
- Pull the lever 2.
- Swivel the footrest outwards until it detaches from the guide.
- Pull the footrest out of the tube.
3.6.2 Attaching or Removing Armrests
The armrests of the wheelchair can be attached as follows:
- Attach the armrest ① in the armrest holder, until the screw ③ fits into the sleeve ④.
- Ensure that the armrest ① is securely attached.
To remove the armrest:
- Grasp the armrest and carefully pull it out of the armrest holder.
3.6.3 Backrest Height
The backrest has 5 height adjustment settings.
- Remove the star grip (1).
- Slide the backrest up/down until the desired height is reached. Ensure that the hole for the star grip in the frame tube aligns with one of the holes in the upholstery.
- Replace the star grip and tighten it again.
3.6.4 Backrest Support
The wheelchair's backrest has a suspension system with adjustable Velcro fasteners to adjust the flexibility of the backrest.
- Pull the back cushion off the Velcro fasteners of the backrest.
- Loosen the Velcro fasteners.
- Pull the respective strap to the desired position. The tension of the individual straps can be varied to adjust the desired back support.
- Place the back cushion onto the backrest, starting from the front and ending at the back.
- Secure the Velcro connections by pressing the cushion against the backrest with your hand.
- Ensure all straps are secured with Velcro.
3.6.5 Handlebar Height
The handlebars can be adjusted over a range of 60 mm:
- Loosen the star grip (1).
- Move the handle up or down to the desired height.
- Retighten the star grip (1).
- Repeat the process with the other handle. Ensure both handles are securely fastened.
3.7 Battery Status and Charging
❗ WARNING: Risk of personal injury or property damage due to fire
- Only use the charger supplied with the wheelchair. Using another charger can be hazardous (risk of fire).
- The charger is intended only for charging the batteries supplied with the wheelchair, not other batteries.
- Do not make any modifications to supplied parts such as cables, plugs, or the charger. The battery or its connection contacts must never be opened or modified.
- Protect the battery and charger from open fire, high and low temperatures (see Section 6), moisture, sunlight, and strong vibrations (e.g., drops). Do NOT use the battery if any of these conditions apply.
- Charge the battery using the charger in a well-ventilated area, out of the reach of children.
⚠️ CAUTION: Risk of damage
- The battery gradually discharges due to self-discharge and the standby current of connected consumers. The battery can be irreversibly damaged if fully discharged. Therefore, ensure the battery is charged in time (see 3.7).
- Read the storage and maintenance instructions (4) and the technical details in § 6.
- Never charge batteries below 0°C. Bring the battery to a warmer location and start the charging process.
- Keep the charger's connection contacts free of dust and other contaminants.
- If the battery cannot be charged according to the instructions below, please contact your dealer.
ℹ️ Refer to §3.7 for all information on the battery status indicator. The battery charger should be disconnected from the mains power supply when not in use. This prevents unnecessary energy consumption.
Always check the battery for damage before charging. Press the charge indicator button for 2 seconds to turn on the battery. If no charge indicator LED lights up, the battery may be damaged. If at least one, but not all, charge indicator LEDs light up, charge the battery fully before first use. Do not charge or use a damaged battery; instead, contact your dealer.
To ensure full battery capacity, charge the battery fully via the charger before first use. The battery can be charged at any time on or off the wheelchair.
Instructions for Charging the Battery:
- Switch off the battery.
- If desired, remove the battery from the battery housing and prevent dirt or liquids from entering the charging port.
- Connect the charger plug to the battery ①.
- Plug the charger into the socket.
- The LED indicator on the charger shows the charging status:
- Red - Charging
- Green - Standby / Fully charged
- Once the battery is fully charged, remove the charger from the socket and the battery.
3.7.1 Battery Charge Indicator
There are two battery charge indicators:
- On the battery pack:
- Press the button ② on the battery pack.
- The charge status of the battery can be seen from the LEDs of the battery charge indicator ①.
- Control Console: When the electrical system is switched on, the battery indicator (2, §3.3) shows the battery charge status.
- All LEDs illuminated: The battery is fully charged.
- Only the red LED is lit or blinking: Charge the battery immediately.
Due to the wiring, the two indicators may differ slightly. In this case, use the less favorable charge status indicator.
3.8 Switching the Electrical Device On and Off
Use the ON/OFF switch located on the side of the battery.
3.9 Inserting / Removing the Battery
The battery can be removed for easy charging outside the wheelchair.
How to Install the Battery:
- Insert the key and turn it in the direction of the unlock symbol.
- Insert the battery into the battery housing as far as possible. There is only one way to insert the battery.
- Turn the key ① to the lock symbol.
- Ensure the battery is properly engaged.
- Remove the key ①. (Never remove the key while driving).
To Remove the Battery:
- Insert the key.
- Turn the key ① to the unlock symbol.
- Carefully pull the battery out of the battery housing.
4 Maintenance
4.1 Maintenance Schedule
❗ CAUTION: Risk of personal injury or property damage
Repairs and replacements must only be carried out by trained personnel using original Vermeiren spare parts.
ℹ️ The last page of this manual contains a registration form where the dealer can document each service. The frequency of maintenance depends on the frequency and intensity of use. Contact your dealer to arrange a general schedule for inspection/maintenance/repair. Read the maintenance instructions in the operating manual for the supplied battery charger. For the maintenance manual, visit the Vermeiren website: www.vermeiren.com.
Before Each Use
Check the following points:
- All parts: present and not damaged or worn.
- All parts: clean (see Section 4.2.2)
- Wheels, seat, armrests, footrests, and headrest (if applicable): securely fastened.
- Battery status: charge the battery if necessary (see Section 3.7)
- Control console, battery, drive unit, motors, charger, lights, and relevant cables: no damage (e.g., frayed, broken, or exposed cables).
- Condition of wheels/tires (see Section 4.2.1).
- Condition of frame parts: no deformation, instability, weakness, or loose connections.
- Seat, backrest, armrests, calf supports, and headrest (if applicable): no excessive wear (such as dents, damage, or tears).
Contact your dealer for any repairs or spare parts.
Monthly
If your wheelchair is not used for a long period, you should still charge the battery once a month. During this period, the charger can remain connected to the battery and the socket. For more information, see Section 3.7.
Annually or More Frequently
Have your wheelchair inspected and serviced by your dealer at least once a year, or more frequently. The minimum maintenance frequency depends on usage and should therefore be agreed upon with your dealer.
Upon Storage
Ensure your wheelchair is stored dry to prevent mold formation or damage to the upholstery.
4.2 Maintenance Instructions
4.2.1 Wheels and Tires
ℹ️ The correct functioning of the brakes depends on the condition of the tires and can change due to wear and contamination (water, oil, mud, etc.). Ensure that no wires, hair, sand, or carpet fibers adhere to the wheels.
Regularly check the tire tread. If the tread depth is less than 1 mm, the tire must be replaced. Contact your dealer for this.
4.2.2 Cleaning
❗ CAUTION: Risk of damage due to moisture
- Keep the control console clean and protect it from water and rain.
- Never use a water hose or high-pressure cleaner to clean the wheelchair.
Wipe all solid parts of the wheelchair with a damp (not wet) cloth. If necessary, use a mild soap suitable for paints and plastics. The upholstery can be cleaned with lukewarm water and a mild soap. A technical problem may occur even with proper use of your wheelchair. In such cases, please contact your dealer.

- For errors on the control console, you must contact your dealer. They will decide if the console needs to be reprogrammed.
In case of a problem, a system code will be displayed by the blinking LEDs of the battery status indicator, see § (2). Possible system codes are summarized in the following table. You can fix some problems yourself. For all errors highlighted in gray, please contact your dealer.

4.4 Expected Lifespan
The average lifespan of your wheelchair is 5 years. Depending on usage frequency, operating conditions, and maintenance, the lifespan of your wheelchair may be longer or shorter.
4.5 Reuse
Before reuse by another person, have the wheelchair disinfected, inspected, and serviced according to the instructions in §4.1 and §4.2.
4.6 End of Life
At the end of its service life, your wheelchair must be disposed of in accordance with applicable environmental regulations. Ideally, it should be dismantled to facilitate the transport of recyclable parts.
