Getting Started
Step 1: Plug Base into power and charge pendant
Before first use, fully charge the pendant by placing it in the charging cradle. Ensure the charger is plugged in and the power light on the charger is red. A full charge may take 3 to 4 hours. The charging light on the pendant will blink green while charging and turn solid green when fully charged.
Step 2: System Check
To perform a system check:
- Press and hold the TEST button for 4-8 seconds until the lights blink.
- The pendant will announce "Power ON" and then the version number.
- The pendant will check battery status and announce:
- "Battery OK" if battery is greater than 25%.
- "Recharge Battery Soon" if battery is less than 25%.
- The pendant will then check for cellular service and announce:
- "Service Coverage OK" for good cellular service.
- "Low Signal Strength or No Service Coverage" for poor or no signal. If this message is heard, place a test call to 911 by pressing the Emergency Call Button for 4 seconds. If they answer, inform them it is a test.
- The pendant will announce whether the Battery Supervision feature is "On" or "Off".
- Finally, the pendant will announce "Return to Standby".
Step 3: Placing an Emergency Call
- Press and hold the BLUE EMERGENCY button until the BLUE LIGHT FLASHES (approximately 4-8 seconds).
- You will hear a short musical chime, followed by a dial tone as the pendant calls 911.
- When 911 answers, speak to the emergency operator using the pendant's speakerphone. Immediately provide your name and location.
- The call can be ended in two ways:
- The pendant automatically ends the call when 911 hangs up and returns to standby.
- You can end the call by pressing the TEST button on the pendant. The pendant will announce "Hanging Up" and return to standby.
Step 4: Battery Supervision
The Battery Supervision feature automatically checks the pendant's battery status every 24 hours. This feature is factory set to ON.
- When Battery Supervision is ON:
- Estimated standby time is 2-3 months.
- The pendant will announce "Recharge Battery Soon" when capacity drops below 25%.
- When Battery Supervision is OFF:
- Estimated standby time is 6-12 months.
- You must manually perform a System Check periodically.
To turn Battery Supervision ON or OFF:
- Perform a system check: Push and HOLD the Gray TEST button for 4 seconds.
- When you hear "Version Number", push and HOLD the Gray TEST button again for 4 seconds. The BLUE light will flash.
- The System Check voice prompt will confirm the status: "Battery Supervision ON" or "Battery Supervision OFF".
Repeat steps 1-3 to toggle the feature ON or OFF.

Safety and Compliance Information
FCC Compliance
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Operation is subject to the following two conditions:
- This device may not cause harmful interference.
- This device must accept any interference received, including interference that may cause undesired operation.
Changes or modifications not expressly approved by the party responsible for compliance could void the user's authority to operate the equipment.
This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. These limits are designed to provide reasonable protection against harmful interference in a residential installation. This equipment generates, uses, and can radiate radio frequency energy and, if not installed and used in accordance with the instructions, may cause harmful interference to radio communications. However, there is no guarantee that harmful interference to radio or television reception can be avoided. The user is encouraged to try to correct the interference by one or more of the following measures:
- Re-orient or relocate the receiving antenna.
- Increase the separation between the equipment and receiver.
- Connect the equipment into an outlet on a circuit different from that to which the receiver is connected.
- Consult the dealer or an experienced radio/TV technician for help.
SAR Information Statement
Your Mobile Personal Emergency Response Service is a radio transmitter and receiver designed and manufactured not to exceed the emission limits for exposure to radiofrequency (RF) energy set by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) of the U.S. Government. These limits are part of comprehensive guidelines establishing permitted levels of RF energy for the general population. The guidelines are based on standards developed by independent scientific organizations. The standards include a substantial safety margin. The exposure standard employs the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR). The SAR limit set by the FCC is 1.6W/kg for body-worn devices and 4.0 W/kg for hand-held devices.
Tests for SAR are conducted with the Mobile Personal Emergency Response Service transmitting at its highest certified power level in all tested frequency bands. Although SAR is determined at the highest certified power level, the actual SAR level while operating can be well below the maximum value because the device is designed to use only the power required to reach the network. The closer you are to a wireless base station antenna, the lower the power output.
Before a model is available for sale, it must be tested and certified to the FCC that it does not exceed the limit for safe exposure. Tests are performed in positions and locations required by the FCC for each model. The FCC has granted equipment authorization for this model. SAR information can be found on file with the FCC under the Display Grant section of http://www.fcc.gov/oet/fccid.
FCC ID: TYD-GA40711B. In the United States and Canada, the SAR limit for a Mobile Personal Emergency Response Service used by the public is 1.6 watts/kg (W/kg) averaged over one gram of tissue. The standard incorporates a substantial margin of safety for additional protection and to account for variations in measurements.
Body-worn Operation:
This device was tested for typical body-worn operations. To comply with RF exposure requirements, a minimum separation distance of 10mm must be maintained between the user's face and the Mobile Personal Emergency Response Service when held to the face for voice communications, including the antenna. Body-worn accessories that do not meet these requirements may not comply with RF exposure and should be avoided. Use only the supplied accessories.
Pacemakers and Your Guardian Alert 911 PLUS:
The Guardian Alert 911 PLUS is a 4G-LTE cellular handset approved by the FCC. Based on current FCC and FDA research, cell phones do not pose a significant health risk for the vast majority of pacemaker wearers. However, if you have any concerns, please consult with your physician.
