Introduction
The Xiegu WR12 is a specialized wide-band receiver add-on designed to enhance the capabilities of the Xiegu X6200 transceiver. It extends the receiving frequency range from 54 MHz up to 1,005 GHz, significantly broadening the spectrum accessible to radio operators.
This extended manual provides comprehensive guidance, covering the WR12's features, installation procedures, operational details, and technical specifications, offering more in-depth information than the standard user manual.
What's Included
Upon purchasing the Xiegu WR12, the package typically includes:
- Xiegu WR12 Wide-Band Receiver Add-on
- USB-C to USB-C cable (17cm)
- SMA-male to BNC-male cable (20cm)
- Thumb Screws (2x, M3 x 30mm)
- Hex Wrench (2mm)
- Xiegu WR12 Manual
- Product Warranty Card
- Certificate of Conformity
Installation and Operation
The manual details the mechanical mounting process, which involves removing the X6200's cover plate using the provided hex wrench and securing the WR12 with thumb screws. Cable connections are straightforward: the WR12's "RIG" port connects to the X6200's antenna output via the SMA-BNC cable, and the WR12's USB-C port connects to the X6200's "HOST" port via the USB-C cable.
Operationally, frequencies below 54 MHz pass through the WR12 without alteration. For frequencies above 54 MHz, the WR12's down-converter is engaged, routing the signal to the X6200, and disabling TX activity to prevent interference.
Receiving Sensitivity
The document includes a table outlining the receiving sensitivity of the Xiegu WR12 across various frequency bands for AM, NFM, and SSB modes, measured at 10 dB S/N.
Frequency | AM | NFM | SSB |
---|---|---|---|
54...88MHz | 0.45µV | 0.4 µV | 0.15 µV |
88...108 MHz | 0.4 µV | 0.35 µV | 0.15 µV |
108...200 MHz | 0.4 µV | 0.3 µV | 0.15 µV |
200...300 MHz | 0.8 µV | 0.7 µV | 0.3 µV |
300...500 MHz | 0.4 µV | 0.3 µV | 0.15 µV |
500...700 MHz | 0.5 µV | 0.4 µV | 0.2 µV |
700...1000 MHz | 0.6 µV | 0.45 µV | 0.15 µV |
