Mounting
Figure 1 - Typical Mounting - Lifeline™ 4 Cable Pull Switch
This diagram illustrates the typical mounting configuration for the Lifeline Rope Tensioner System (LRTS) in conjunction with a Lifeline 4 Cable Pull Switch.
The diagram shows a cable pull switch mounted, with a rope extending from it. This rope then passes through the LRTS tensioner unit and is secured by a gripper at its end.
Key dimensions and configurations are indicated:
- Maximum distance from the cable pull switch to the tensioner: 300 mm (11.8 in.).
- Rope length for Lifeline 4: up to 75 m (246.1 ft).
- Rope length for Lifeline 4 Extended Length: up to 125 m (410.1 ft).
- Distance between the tensioner and the gripper: 2 to 3 m (6.6 to 9.8 ft).
- Rope length ranges are specified: 1 = 0 to 75 m (0 to 246.1 ft), 2 = 0 to 125 m (0 to 410.1 ft).
The tensioner unit displays operational states: "SLACK", "OFF", "RUN".
Accompanying diagrams on the right side of the original document illustrate assembly steps:
- Diagram 1: Shows a rope end being inserted into a gripper mechanism, with an arrow indicating the direction of insertion. A checkmark symbol [✔️] indicates correct insertion.
- Diagram 2: Depicts the rope path through the tensioner unit, illustrating how the mechanism grips the rope. Symbols like a checkmark [✔️] and a cross [❌] may indicate operational states or correct/incorrect procedures.
- Diagram 3: Provides a closer view of the tensioner mechanism, detailing how it grips the rope.
- Diagram 4: A comprehensive view showing the overall system setup with the rope tensioner, gripper, and cable pull switch, indicating the rope's path and approximate lengths.
⚠️ ATTENTION: Only the supplied cable (rope) should be used with LRTS system.
Maintenance
Frequency
- Every week:
- Check correct tension of system and adjust if necessary.
- Check for any signs of abuse or tampering. Replace if apparent.
- Verify rope length is clear of obstruction and system is working correctly.
Repair
If there is any malfunction or damage, no attempts at repair should be made. The unit should be replaced before machine operation is allowed.
IMPORTANT: Do not dismantle the unit.
