3. Appearance and Size
The M6 display is a smart LCD unit designed for electric bicycles. It features a clear screen showing various riding data. The control unit has five buttons: power on/off, plus (+), minus (-), light, and toggle (i).
Physical Picture of the Display: The display shows current speed, PAS level, battery level, trip odometer, odometer, maximum speed, and average speed. It also indicates units like KM/H or MPH.

4.1 Functional Overview
The M6 display offers a variety of features to enhance the electric bicycle riding experience, including:
- Battery level indicator
- Pedal assist (PAS) level indicator

- Mileage display (single trip and total odometer)
- Walk boost mode
- Light ON/OFF control

4.2 Functional Areas
The display interface is divided into several functional areas:
- Battery Level: Indicates the remaining battery charge.
- Error Code: Displays error codes when faults occur.
- Current Speed: Shows the current speed of the bicycle.
- Walk Boost: Indicates when the walk boost mode is active.
- Trip Odometer: Displays the distance covered in the current trip.
- Odometer: Shows the total distance traveled.
- Max Speed: Displays the maximum speed achieved.
- Average Speed: Shows the average speed over a period.
- Light ON/OFF: Indicates the status of the bicycle lights.
- Speed Unit: Shows the current speed unit (KM/H or MPH).

4.3 Button Definitions
The M6 display is operated via a control unit with five buttons:
- Power On/Off: Long press to turn the display on or off.
- Plus (+): Used to increase values or navigate forward.
- Minus (-): Used to decrease values or navigate backward, and to activate walk boost mode.
- Light (?): Used to turn the bicycle lights and display backlight on/off.
- Toggle (ℹ️): Used to switch between different display interfaces and select parameters.
5. Routine Operation
5.1 Power On/Off
Long press the power button (?) to turn the display on or off. When the display is off, it consumes minimal battery power (leakage current <1uA). The display will automatically shut off if it remains unused for more than 10 minutes.
5.2 Display Interface Switching
When the display is powered on, it defaults to showing Current Speed (km/h) and Trip Odometer (km). Short press the toggle button (ℹ️) to cycle through the following interfaces:
- Trip Odometer (km)
- Odometer (km)
- Maximum Speed (km/h)
- Average Speed (km/h)
5.3 Walk Boost Mode
Long press and hold the minus button (➖) to activate the walk boost mode. The electric bicycle will move at a fixed speed of 6 km/h, indicated on the display. Release the minus button (➖) to stop power output and return to the previous state.
Note: The walk boost mode is intended for pushing the bicycle and should not be used while riding.
5.4 Turning On/Off Lights
Press the light button (?) to turn on the bicycle's lights and dim the display backlight. Press the light button (?) again to turn off the lights and restore the display's brightness.
5.5 PAS Level Selection
Press the plus (+) or minus (➖) buttons to switch the Pedal Assist System (PAS) level, which adjusts the motor's output power. Levels typically range from 0 to 5, with higher numbers providing more assistance.
5.6 Battery Level Display
The battery level is indicated by up to 5 bars. When fully charged, all bars are illuminated. As the battery depletes, bars will turn off. When the battery is critically low, the remaining bar(s) will flash to alert the user to charge the battery.
5.7 Error Code Display
If a fault occurs in the electric system, the display will automatically show an error code. Refer to Schedule 1 for a detailed definition of each error code. It is important to address error codes promptly, as the electric bicycle may not function normally until the issue is resolved.
6. Personalized Parameter Settings
Important: All parameter settings must be performed while the bicycle is stationary and the display is ON with the speed showing 0.
General Setting Procedure:
- Press and hold the plus (+) and minus (➖) buttons simultaneously for more than 2 seconds to enter the personalized parameter setting interface.
- Press the toggle button (ℹ️) to enter the parameter changing state. Use the plus (+) and minus (➖) buttons to toggle between different parameter settings.
- Press the plus (+) or minus (➖) buttons to select the desired parameter value. Long press (+) for addition, long press (➖) for subtraction.
- Press the toggle button (ℹ️) to save the current parameter setting and return to the main parameter selection interface.
- Long press the toggle button (ℹ️) to save all parameter settings and exit the personalized parameter setting interface.
Available Parameter Settings:
6.1 Backlight Luminance Setting (01P)
Adjusts the screen's brightness. Available parameters are 01 (minimum luminance), 02 (standard luminance), and 03 (maximum luminance). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.2 Metric and Imperial Setting (02P)
Sets the unit of measurement. Parameter 00 selects metric (km/h, km), and 01 selects imperial (mph, mile). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.3 Rated Voltage Setting (03P)
Sets the rated voltage for the system. Available options are 24V, 36V, 48V, and 52V. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.4 Auto Sleep Time Setting (04P)
Configures the auto-shutdown time to save battery power. The adjustable range is 1 to 60 minutes. Setting 00 disables auto shutdown. The factory default is 10 minutes. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.5 PAS Level Setting (05P)
Determines the pedal assist levels available. Common settings include ranges like 0~3, 1~3, 0~5, 1~5, 1~7, 0~7, 0~9, 1~9. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.6 Wheel Diameter Setting (06P)
Sets the wheel diameter for accurate speed and distance calculations. The adjustable range is 1 to 50 inches. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.7 Number of Speed Sensor Magnets Setting (07P)
Configures the number of magnets on the speed sensor. The adjustable range is 1 to 255 pieces. This setting is crucial for accurate speed readings. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.8 Speed Limit Setting (08P)
Sets the maximum speed limit for the electric bicycle. The adjustable range is 1 to 100 km/h. Note that the actual maximum speed may vary based on different system protocols. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.9 Start-up Setting (09P)
Defines the start-up mode. Options include 00 for zero start (requires pedaling to engage motor) and 01 for non-zero start (motor engages immediately upon power-on or throttle input). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.10 Drive Mode Setting (10P)
Selects the primary drive mode. Options are: 00 (Pedal assist only), 01 (Electric motor only), and 02 (Both Pedal assist and electric motor). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.11 Pedal Assist Sensitivity Setting (11P)
Adjusts the sensitivity of the pedal assist sensor. Higher numbers require more crank rotations to activate the motor, while lower numbers require fewer rotations. The adjustable range is 1 to 24. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.12 Pedal Assist Strength Setting (12P)
Determines the relative strength of the pedal assist. The adjustable range is 0 to 5, where 0 is the weakest and 5 is the strongest assistance. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.13 Number of Pedal Assist Sensor Magnets Setting (13P)
Sets the number of magnets for the pedal assist sensor. Available options are 5, 8, or 12 pcs. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.14 Controller Current Limit Setting (14P)
Sets the current limit for the controller, which affects motor power output. The adjustable range is 1 to 50A. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.15 Battery Under Voltage Value Setting (15P)
Configures the battery under-voltage protection threshold. This value can be adjusted based on the current rated voltage of the battery. Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.16 ODO Resets Setting (16P)
Determines whether the odometer resets. Options are 00 (non-reset) and 01 (reset). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.17 Controller Cruise Control Setting (17P)
Enables or disables the cruise control function. Options are 00 (disable) and 01 (enable). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
6.18 6km/h Walk Boost Setting (18P)
Controls the 6km/h walk boost function. Options are 00 (turn off walk boost function) and 01 (turn on walk boost function). Press (ℹ️) to enter modification, (+/-) to select, and (ℹ️) to save.
7. Shortcut Operation
7.1 Restore Factory Settings Operation
To restore factory default parameter settings:
- Ensure the display is ON and the speed shows 0.
- Press and hold the minus (➖) and toggle (ℹ️) buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds to enter the factory reset interface.
- Press the plus (+) or minus (➖) buttons to toggle between 'dEF-Y' (restore) and 'dEF-N' (do not restore).
- After selecting 'dEF-Y', press the toggle button (ℹ️) to confirm. The display will show 'dEF-0' briefly and then automatically restore the factory default settings. The display will then exit to the setting interface.
7.2 Trip Odometer Reset Operation
The display records both trip odometer and odometer. The trip odometer does not reset automatically after turning off and needs manual reset.
- Enter the main setting interface and ensure the speed is 0.
- Press and hold the minus (➖) and toggle (ℹ️) buttons simultaneously for 2 seconds to reset the trip odometer. The main interface will flash during the reset process.
8. Precautions
- Pay attention to general operating procedures when using the product. Do not plug or unplug the display while it is powered on.
- Avoid bumping the display as much as possible to prevent damage.
- Do not change parameter settings arbitrarily, as this may affect normal riding performance.
- If the display malfunctions, please send it to an authorized repair center as soon as possible.
- There may be minor differences between the physical product and this manual due to normal upgrades. Always refer to the physical product for the most accurate information.
