Cirrus Perspective+ by Garmin: A New Generation of Flight Deck
Experience the ultimate in aviation technology with Cirrus Perspective+™ by Garmin, designed to redefine the flight experience in the Cirrus G6 aircraft.
Experience Connected Intelligence
Cirrus Aircraft and Garmin have collaborated to create the most intelligent, connected, and capable flight deck in its class. The Cirrus Perspective+ system offers ten times the performance of previous generations, seamless connectivity between pilot and aircraft, and numerous safety enhancements for an elevated flight experience.
The system features a new generation of flight deck technology with enhanced processors, providing a new level of performance and a more intuitive interface. Wireless connectivity allows for quick transfer of flight plans and weather information, as well as convenient data updates via mobile devices.
Flight Displays
The LED-backlit flight displays are powered by efficient processors running next-generation software, delivering crisp imagery and quick response rates. This enhances readability and ensures instantaneous transfer of critical data to the pilot. The flight deck can simultaneously display various aircraft systems, checklists, animated weather radar, moving maps, and traffic information.
Synthetic Vision Technology (SVT) provides a three-dimensional virtual image of ground and water features, obstacles, and traffic. The system also includes the Terrain Awareness and Warning System (eTAWS), which provides visual and audible caution and warning alerts for hazards such as premature descent, excessive rates of descent, or negative climb rates after takeoff. Highway in the Sky (HITS) ensures the aircraft remains on the desired flight path during enroute, approach, or missed approach phases.
Keypad Controller
The redesigned QWERTY keypad controller features larger, more readable keys and dedicated control knobs, including a HOME button for quick access to the default map screen. The intuitive layout simplifies interaction between the aircraft and the pilot, with shallow menus keeping frequently used functions at the top level for quick input.
Digital Autopilot
The fully digital, dual-channel Automated Flight Control System (AFCS) delivers precise lateral and vertical navigation guidance. It builds upon smart servo technology found in business jets, offering supreme accuracy. The optional automatic yaw damper reduces pilot workload and ensures a smooth ride. The autopilot features the industry-leading Blue Level Button, a single-touch control to roll wings level and pitch to a level attitude, providing an active safety feature for pilots who may become momentarily distracted or disoriented.
SurfaceWatch™
SurfaceWatch provides progressive alerts to enhance situational awareness both in the air and on the ground. It offers textual advisories on aircraft location, highlights correct runways with cyan chevrons, and provides urgent alerts such as "RWY TOO SHORT" or "CHECK RUNWAY" for improper positioning.
Traffic Advisory System
This high-performance active traffic system scans distances of 22 nautical miles and detects up to 45 targets within 10,000 feet of vertical separation. Course trend vectors help identify and track specific aircraft flight trajectories with greater precision. Safety measures include ATC-like aural alerts, such as "Traffic, Three o'clock, Same Altitude, Two Miles," to assist pilots in congested areas.
Datalink Weather
Access comprehensive weather information through ADS-B In weather and satellite weather services. The Cirrus Perspective+ flight deck can display multiple weather products, including animated radar, cell movement, lightning, satellite imagery, cloud tops, icing potential, freezing levels, METARs, TAFs, SIGMETs/AIRMETs, and winds aloft. Animated NEXRAD weather provides a precise composite weather picture for informed and safe decision-making.
Uncompromising Safety
Safety is paramount, achieved through a combination of initiatives to minimize risk and manage undesired states. Cirrus Aircraft incorporates innovative systems that transition from passive to redundant and active layers of protection.
- Cirrus Airframe Parachute System (CAPS®): A signature safety innovation providing an additional measure of safety for occupants.
- Smart Redundancy: Incorporates redundancy, fault tolerance, and robustness with dual alternators, dual batteries, and multiple electrical buses to ensure power supply to critical components. Dual Air Data Attitude and Heading Reference Systems (ADAHRS) ensure autopilot availability even after an ADAHRS failure.
- Stall/Spin Barrier System: Features NASA-developed wing technology with a "cuffed" discontinuous leading edge to minimize spin entry potential. The Electronic Stability & Protection (ESP) system passively corrects unusual flight attitudes and provides aural and visual alerts.
- Cirrus Approach™ Training System: Offers engaging, video-driven online courses and interactive digital manuals for a streamlined training experience, supported by a network of Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilots (CSIPs).
Payload Management
The Weight and Balance synoptic page simplifies input and ensures accuracy for every flight. It accounts for fuel, TKS fluid, occupied seats, and stowed bags in the center of gravity calculation, allowing pilots to complete flights safely and legally.
