Brand: Braun
Model: Lady Braun Style Universal
Type: Type 5575
Product Overview
The Braun Lady Braun Style Universal is a versatile lady shaver designed for convenient hair removal. It offers both corded and cordless operation, making it suitable for use at home or while travelling.
Key Features and Components
Components:
- ① Cord socket
- ② Charging indicator
- ③ On/off switch
- ④ Switch lock
- ⑤ Shaving foil
- ⑥ Trimmers
- ⑦ Protective cap
- ⑧ Cleaning brush
Operation Modes:
The shaver features a convenient two-way system, allowing use with the built-in rechargeable cell unit (cordless) or directly with the cord connected to a mains outlet.
The Lady Braun Style automatically charges on any outlet with voltages between 100-240 V ac. For international travel, a plug adapter may be necessary.
Shaving with the Cord
When connected directly to a mains outlet, the shaver is ready for immediate use. If the shaver does not run due to a discharged cell unit, charge it for approximately 1 minute (set switch to «0») to enable corded use.
Cordless Shaving and Charging
A full charge provides approximately 45 minutes of cordless shaving.
Initial Charging:
- Ensure the shaver is off (switch set to «0»).
- Plug into an outlet.
- Charge for about 16 hours initially.
- Completely discharge through normal use to optimize the rechargeable cell unit's performance.
This discharge/charging cycle should be repeated approximately every six months.
The charging indicator ② will light up when the shaver is charging and connected to the mains.
Temperature Guidelines:
Do not expose the shaver to temperatures below 32°F (0°C) or above 105°F (40°C) for extended periods. The ideal recharging temperature range is between 60°F (15°C) and 95°F (35°C).
Operating the Shaver
Switch Lock:
The switch lock ④ prevents accidental activation during storage. To unlock, push the switch lock up. To lock, push it down.
On/Off Switch:
The switch ③ turns both the foil shaving system and the two curved trimmers on and off. On = push switch up, Off = push switch down.
Before Shaving:
Remove the protective cap ⑦ by grasping both sides in the middle and lifting gently. Ensure your skin is completely dry.
Shaving Technique:
Hair removal is achieved by the combined actions of the foil and trimmer systems. The curved trimmers ⑥ first raise long hairs, and the flexible foil ⑤ then cuts stubble. For optimal results, hold the shaver so that about half of the foil and one trimmer are in contact with your skin, with the trimmer leading. Guide the shaver slowly without pressing. The shaver head's large, rounded design allows for easy shaving of curves and contours on knees, ankles, underarms, and bikini lines.
After Shaving:
You may apply body cream or lotion. Use caution when applying perfume or deodorants immediately after shaving.
Storage and Maintenance
Storage:
Store your Lady Braun Style in its bag (pouch) when not in use or charging. This provides practical storage and protects the foil from damage (refer to diagram a).
Cleaning:
Turn the shaver off before cleaning. The foil is a precision part; handle the shaver head with care.
- After each use: Remove the shaver head by pulling it off (refer to diagram b).
- Tap the bottom (not the metal parts) on a flat surface to remove debris (refer to diagram c).
- Do not brush the shaver foil surface, as this may cause damage.
- Clean the top of the shaver with the brush.
- Replace the shaver head by clicking it into place.
Long-Term Maintenance
To maintain high performance, apply a small amount of Vaseline to the shaver head approximately every 3 months or after each cleaning (refer to diagram d, as described in text).
