Button Definitions
The YL81F display is equipped with operating buttons: power/toggle [i], plus [+], minus [−], and light [?].
Routine Operation
Power on/off
Long press [i] to power on/off the display. When off, it consumes less than 1uA leakage current. The display automatically shuts off after 10 minutes of inactivity.
Display Interface Switching
The default display shows Current Speed and Trip Odometer. Short press [i] to cycle through Trip Odometer, Odometer, Maximum Speed, and Average Speed.
Walk Boost Mode
Long press [−] to enter walk boost mode. The e-bike moves at a fixed 6 km/h. Release [−] to stop. This mode is for pushing the bike, not riding.
Turning on/off Lights
Press [?] to turn on lights and dim the display backlight. Press [?] again to turn off lights and restore brightness.
PAS Level Selection
Press [+] or [−] to switch Pedal Assist System (PAS) levels, adjusting motor output power. Available PAS level settings include 0~3, 1~3, 0~5, 1~5, 1~7, 0~7, 0~9, 1~9.
Battery Level Display
Battery level is shown as 5 bars. All bars are lit when full. A flashing bar indicates low battery and the need to charge.
Error Code Display
If a fault occurs, an error code is displayed. Refer to Schedule 1 and 2 for definitions.
Personalized Parameter Settings
Settings require the bicycle to be stationary.
Procedure:
- Press and hold [i], [+], and [−] simultaneously for over 2 seconds to enter the parameter setting interface.
- Press [i] to toggle between settings; press [+] or [−] to enter parameter changing state.
- Press [+] or [−] to select parameter value; long press [+] for addition, long press [−] for subtraction.
- Press [i] to save settings and return to the parameter interface.
- Long press [i] to save settings and exit.
Backlight Luminance Setting (01P)
Sets backlight brightness: 01 (minimum), 02 (standard), 03 (maximum). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Metric and Imperial Setting (02P)
Sets units: 00 (metric), 01 (imperial). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Rated Voltage Setting (03P)
Sets rated voltage: 24V, 36V, 48V. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Auto Sleep Time Setting (04P)
Sets auto-off time: 1-60min, 00 (no auto-off). Default is 10 minutes. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
PAS Level Setting (05P)
Sets PAS levels. Available ranges: 0~3, 1~3, 0~5, 1~5, 1~7, 0~7, 0~9, 1~9. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Wheel Diameter Setting (06P)
Sets wheel diameter: 1-50 inch. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Number of Speed Sensor Magnets Setting (07P)
Sets sensor magnet count: 1-255 pcs. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Speed Limit Setting (08P)
Sets speed limit: 1-100 km/h. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Start-up Setting (09P)
Sets start mode: 00 (zero start), 01 (non-zero start). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Drive Mode Setting (10P)
Sets drive mode: 00 (Pedal assist only), 01 (Electric only), 02 (Both). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Pedal Assist Sensitivity Setting (11P)
Sets pedal assist sensitivity: 1-24. Higher numbers require more crank rotations. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Pedal Assist Strength Setting (12P)
Sets pedal assist strength: 0-5 (0 weakest, 5 strongest). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Number of Pedal Assist Sensor Magnets Setting (13P)
Sets pedal assist sensor magnet count: 5, 8, 12 pcs. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Controller Current Limit Setting (14P)

Battery Under Voltage Value Setting (15P)
Sets battery under-voltage threshold based on rated voltage. Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
ODO Resets Setting (16P)
Sets ODO reset behavior: 00 (non-reset), 01 (reset). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Controller Cruise Control Setting (17P)
Sets cruise control: 00 (disable), 01 (enable). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
6km/h Walk Boost Setting (18P)
Sets 6km/h walk boost function: 00 (turn off), 01 (turn on). Press [i] to enter, [+] or [−] to select, [i] to save.
Shortcut Operation
Restore Factory Settings Operation
To restore factory defaults: enter the main setting interface, keep speed at 0, and press and hold [i], [+], and [−] simultaneously for 2s. Press [i] to toggle between dEF-Y (restore) and dEF-N (no restore). Press [i] to confirm. The display shows dEF-0 then restores.
Trip Odometer Reset Operation
The trip odometer is not auto-reset. To reset, enter the main setting interface, keep speed at 0, and press and hold [−] and [i] simultaneously for 2s. The interface flashes during reset.
