Product Description

The HRP-600N3 series is a 600W single output AC/DC ultra-high peak power supply. This series operates at 85~264VAC input voltage and offers models with DC outputs commonly demanded by industry. Each model is cooled by a built-in fan with ON-OFF control, suitable for temperatures up to 70°C. The HRP-600N3 can provide 350% short-duration peak power for motor applications and electromechanical loads requiring significantly higher power during start-up.

Functional Manual

1. Peak Power

The power supply supports peak power operation, allowing for higher output power for short durations. The average output power (Pav) is calculated using the formula: Pav = (Ppk * t + Pnpk * (T - t)) / T, where Ppk is peak output power, Pnpk is non-peak output power, t is peak power width, and T is the period. The duty cycle (Duty = t / T * 100%) must be less than or equal to 35%.

A graph illustrates the relationship between Duty (%) and Peak Output Power (W) for 12V models and 24V/36V/48V models, showing derating at higher peak power levels and different input voltages (100Vac, 200Vac).

Example (24V model):

Given Vin = 200V, Duty_max = 25%, Rated Power (Pav) = 648W, Peak Power (Ppk) = 1500W.

The peak power width (t) must be ≤ 5 seconds, and the period (T) must be ≥ 20 seconds (calculated as t / Duty_max = 5s / 25% = 20s).

The non-peak output power (Pnpk) is calculated as: Pnpk = (Pav * T - Ppk * t) / (T - t). For this example, Pnpk ≤ 364W.

2. Remote Sense

The remote sensing feature compensates for voltage drops that occur in the load wiring, up to 0.5V. This ensures more stable voltage delivery to the load. The sensing connections (+S and -S) should be made directly at the load terminals and use twisted pair wiring for accuracy.

3. DC-OK Signal

The DC-OK signal is a TTL level signal that indicates the status of the power supply. It is HIGH (3.3V ~ 5.6V) when the PSU is turned ON and LOW (0V ~ 1V) when the PSU is turned OFF.

Block Diagram

The block diagram illustrates the power conversion process. It starts with AC input (I/P) passing through an EMI filter. This is followed by an active inrush current limiter, rectifiers and PFC (Power Factor Correction) circuit, and then the main power switching stage. The output stage includes rectifiers and filters, with a detection circuit monitoring Overload Protection (OLP), Over Voltage Protection (OVP), and Over Temperature Protection (OTP). Control signals from PFC Control and PWM Control manage the switching. The output provides DC voltage (+V, -V) and includes sensing terminals (+S, -S) and a DC OK signal. The PWM frequency is 80KHz. Frame Ground (FG) is also indicated.

Derating Curve

This graph shows the relationship between ambient temperature (°C) on the x-axis and load percentage (%) on the y-axis. It indicates that the power supply can operate at 100% load up to a certain temperature (around 50°C), after which derating is required. The curve shows a linear decrease in allowable load as temperature increases towards 70°C. A note indicates "Normal load only" up to 50°C.

Output Derating VS Input Voltage

This graph plots Input Voltage (V) on the x-axis against Load percentage (%) on the y-axis. It shows that the power supply can operate at full load (100%) across a wide input voltage range (85V to 264V). As the input voltage decreases towards 85V, the allowable output load may need to be derated slightly, as indicated by the curve.

The power supply has a compact enclosure with dimensions of 218mm (Length) x 105mm (Width) x 61.5mm (Height).
