Charging and Battery
Your Model L8 has an external charger. Connect the charging cable to the scooter's charging socket located under the footboard on the right side at the rear. Then, connect the charger's electric cable to an electrical outlet.
Charging Light Indicators:
- Red Light: Battery is charging.
- Green Light: Charging is complete.
Maximize Your Battery's Performance:
- For the initial charge, fully charge your L8. This conditions the battery for its future life-span.
- Do not leave a fully charged battery connected to a charger, as overcharging may shorten its lifetime.
- Avoid extreme temperatures. Keep the battery between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). Extreme temperatures can reduce the battery's capacity and lifetime. A device with a hot or cold battery may not work temporarily.
- At least once a month, fully charge the battery.
- From time to time, discharge the battery by riding. Use all stored energy in the battery.
- Before storing it for a long period, charge the battery halfway.
Battery Safety Regulations:
- Do not operate the scooter while charging!
- Charge the battery only using approved chargers. Use of unauthorized chargers may void the warranty, damage the battery, or result in ineffective charging.
- DO NOT CUT, OPEN, CRUSH, OR PUNCTURE BATTERIES!
- In the event of a battery leak, prevent contact of liquid with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, wash the affected areas immediately with water and seek medical help.
Safety Driving Attention
Get to know your L8 before driving it. Test your control, make turns slowly and cautiously, and maintain a safe stopping distance.
To gain control, practice your first ride on your L8 in an open space with no obstacles.
The L8 requires a short adjustment and break-in period for all moving parts to settle into their correct positions.
Before Each Ride:
- Check your brakes function.
- Check the tires for signs of wear. Ensure they are not in need of replacement and that the wheels rotate freely, clear of the brakes.
- Perform a visual inspection: Ensure all screws and nuts are tight and in place. Note any signs of wear or anything that looks amiss.
If you are unsure about anything, bring your L8 to an authorized distributor.
Riding Technique:
- Before Riding: Position your foot as close as possible to the front section of the scooter, with your other foot on the ground. Ensure your path is clear.
- To Start Riding: Boost yourself forward (like on non-motorized scooters) with your foot on the ground. Place it on the scooter immediately afterwards and press the thumb lever downwards, leaning your body forward to maintain balance during acceleration.
- Acceleration: As you accelerate, lean forwards.
- Braking: As you brake, tilt your weight backwards.
- Avoid putting body weight on the handlebars while accelerating or decelerating.
- Foot Placement: Keep one foot behind the other for better stability (similar to skateboarding or snowboarding).
- Turns: Execute turns like on skis, surfboards, or snowboards. The handlebar should be parallel to your body. Before turning, check the direction of travel and ensure it is safe.
- Braking Technique: Tilt your weight backwards so that the braking force is applied through your feet, not the handlebar and steering system. Learn to adjust your center of gravity while stopping to prevent forward tipping or damage to the handlebar and steering system.
Riding involves risks of injury and damage. By choosing to ride the L8 scooter, you assume all responsibility and inherent risks. It is crucial to know, understand, and act according to safety rules.
