IMPORTANT PRECAUTIONS
Please read the entire user manual before using the product and then save it for future reference. For household use only. · Please keep these instructions and the guarantee slip. Also keep the receipt and if
possible the box with inner packaging in a safe place! · This appliance is intended exclusively for private and not for commercial use. · Always remove the plug from the socket when the appliance is not in use or when you
are attaching accessories, cleaning it or in the event of a malfunction. Switch off the appliance. Do not pull the cable, pull the plug. · This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. · Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance. · Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children. · Ensure that the cable does not hang down. · Check the cable and the appliance regularly for damage. Do not switch on the appliance if it is damaged. · Do not repair the appliance yourself, but consult an authorised professional instead. · Keep the appliance and the cable away from heat, direct sunlight, moisture, sharp edges and such like. · Never leave the appliance unsupervised if it is in use! Do not touch the water! · If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard. · Only use the appliance for its intended purpose. · The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system. · After you finish using this product, please recycle the product for disposal in accordance with local regulations. · The outer surface may get hot when the appliance is operating. · No naked flame sources, such as lighted candles, should be placed on the apparatus.

· The appliance shall not be exposed to dripping or splashing and that no objects filled with liquids, such as vases, shall be placed on the appliance.
· The appliance shall be connected to a MAINS socket outlet with a protective earthing connection.
· Only use the appliance if supervised (very dry bread may catch fire if toasted). · Do not insert any forks, knives or such like in the toasting slot. · Do not place the appliance anywhere near inflammable objects (e.g. curtains, wood,
etc.)! · The bread may burn, therefore do not use the toaster near or below combustible
material, such as curtains or kitchen cupboards. · Keep minimum distances 20 cm around the apparatus for sufficient ventilation. Also, the
ventilation should not be impeded by covering the ventilation openings with items, such as newspapers, table-cloths, curtains, etc.

Button 2 is the EQ key.

On 1st time use, the default display is FLAT. The EQ can be adjusted by pressing button 2. (i.e. FLAT => CLASSICAL => ROCK => POP => JAZZ).
The SMART Radio has a memory. It will recall the last choice you made before most recent switch off for all levels explained herein.

For 1st time use, the default is FM, press it and choose AM & AUX. · Button 5 is the FM/ AM frequency modulation and fixed frequency fixed amplitude
selection.

For 1st time use, the default is 87.5/ FM or 526.5/ AM, frequency modulation can be adjustable by rotating button 5.
· Button 6 is an AUX IN jack, which lets you play external CD, MD, or MP3 audio sources. Customers can keep their own chosen frequency, constant amplitude, storage and selection.

Browning control
The browning control enables the adjustment of toasting time and has the following settings:

CANCEL FUNCTION: Press the CANCEL button if you desire to stop the operation. The CANCEL button can be pressed at any time during toasting to interrupt the toasting cycle.
REHEAT FUNCTION: Your toaster can reheat bread if it has cooled too quickly. 1. Place the bread in the toaster. 2. Set the browning control to the lowest setting, the slider should be positioned directly
under the reheat icon. 3. Press the loading lever down. 4. The loading lever will rise automatically when reheating is finished.
DEFROST FUNCTION: Your toaster can defrost frozen bread. 1. Place the bread in the toaster. 2. Turn the selector switch clockwise to set the toasting level from the lightest level 1 to
the darkest level 6 (from left - to right). If in any doubt, start with the lower setting (the black mark on the selector switch shows you the setting). 3. Press the toast lever down. 4. Press the defrost button. 5. The loading lever will rise automatically once finished.

USER MAINTENANCE & CARE
Before cleaning, remove the plug from the socket and allow the appliance to cool down.
· Use a moderately damp cloth to clean the outside of the appliance. · Do not use any corrosive or scrubbing detergents. · Pull the crumb tray out, remove the bread residue and place the tray back in. · Any other servicing should be performed by an authorised service representative.
RECYCLING
Disposal of electric and electronic equipment at the end of their service life (applicable in member countries of the European Union and other European countries operating a selective waste collection system) is mandatory in the UK. This symbol, affixed to the product or its packaging, indicates that the product must not be disposed of with household waste.
